Are we in a sense ‘jumping the gun’ by saying that the policies are ‘sound’ and only need two ‘improvements’, when the inquiry panel will only complete its work in a few more months?

I refer to the article “SAF can improve heat injury prevention: Panel” (Straits Times, Jun 21).

It states that “revealed on Tuesday that an external review panel flagged two areas for improvement – though he declined to elaborate further.

However, he added that the panel found the SAF’s heat injury policies sound and aligned with industry and foreign military practices.”

As to “said that the panel’s recommendations will be made public when they are ready in a few months” – I was somewhat confused and puzzled, as since the panel’s recommendations will only be ready in a few months – how would one know that there will only be “two areas for improvement” (no shortcomings?), and be sure that “the SAF’s heat injury policies sound and aligned with industry and foreign military practices” (no issue with any policies)?

In this connection, I understand that there have been about 50 deaths of military personnel in the history of the SAF.

How many inquiries have ever been conducted, and how many “shortcomings”, instead of “areas for improvement”, have ever been found or cited?

Papies are so addicted to musterbation that it has a deep ingrain culture/mentality that will never be change. They have so much relationship links that one cannot point the fingers at another without risking the fact that someone would eventually spill the beans. No one in papies camp would dare to slice any heads off nor have the balls to own up mistakes made again and again.

Its a bad mess that keeps snowballing down each coming generation until someone else children or grand children happens to hold that hotpot !!

for the sakes of their future generations, Malaysians are really Boleh !!

50 only? A unimog rolled down the hill in Taiwan, how many were in it? They went standing, came back in horizontal boxes. Tell it to the victims’ parents. One of them could be our future good PM. Wasted many young lives to protect who?

The committee and SAF pakak pakak so the outcome is already known.

Since heatstroke is the cause of the boy’s death then we all need to know more about the case like the following.

When was the alarm raised about his heatstroke?

When was the medical centre notified?

When did the medics actually arrive on scene?

How long did they spend before he was evacuated to the medical centre?

Once at the medical centre, how long did it take for the MO to attend to him?

And how long did the MO see him for?

The poor boy must have already been in critical condition when he was brought into the medical centre since they said they cooled him down in some freezer but could not bring his temperature down. It’s like having a high fever and only doing something when the fever has done your brain damage.

SAF is nothing more than gangster haven. Ask anyone who has done NSF.
Torture you for no reason – only make them feel like boss. Then when something really BAD happens look for scapegoat and the guilty run off scot free.

All the bullshit about investigations – these are all staged and blame is pushed to those who cannot fight back and usually forced to follow orders. I specifically know of such cases during my time. No one dare to say anything even now.

when one of us was NSF was abused. wrote to mindef with copy to co. co said, if you withdraw charge we ensure you never see the culprit ever again but if you press charge we must stand by our man. those were early 1980s.

the moral of the story is there is NO truth. only horse trading. the message is, yes our man was wrong but if you keep silent we lose case swee swee but if you make noise we come after you with the whole ffffing gang.

can a S$90 private fight such a ffffing rigged system?
