What do you think?

But you did not factor in the price of water we sell back to Johor after treatment.

I read that we are actually subsidising the Johor govt as the cost of water we sell back is too cheap.

    Must look at the full equation: x – y + z = ???

Come on Philip, are you in the ministerial project to “socialize” us thirsty sinkies into the sneaky labyrinthine intrigues of crony-capitalist water management? Hehehe, what a torrential joke!

NS men may not go to war over water as they may not have the same values as PAP.

When the cause is not believed , the Vietnam war studies have shown that there may be high incidents of fragging ie shooting your commanders instead.

The PAP has put our country at risk over a paltry sum of money.

What really can Singapore Government do , if Malaysia really decides to “cut off” all ties,…including allowing goods from Malaysia to be sold to Singapore ????

    Go to WAR ????

Dr M is merely “Opening up” the “Eyes” of those “still, sleeping” Singapore !

The World has Changed….but alot of our “strawberries” and New Citizen from previous 3rd World…have not come to “realise” our “weakest link”.

OBOR link to Kuantan Port is still “ON” and Kuantan deep sea port is still “ongoing”.

The “writings are On the wall”.

Malaysia do not need us to “survive”….but Singapore “hands are tied”.

It is time to be “humble” and not “act arrogant” as “everything” ( from mass import of F/t,…increasing Population,…etc )will start to become a “big mess” ,should Malaysia decide to “break the agreement”.

    So,..what can our G do beside…kpkb to In’t Court ????

Already said upteem times,…that “from the grape vine”,…Dr M is “planning” own Water Treatment plant .

Stop “thinking” that ONLY Singapore have the ability to “treat and sell back their water”…thats “living in own box” and being “naive”.

Many Manufacturing plants which previously was located in Singapore are already re-located in Johore.

Be “realistic” and “accept reality” !

If you notice,….there is already an “influx” of Korean as well as Chinese nationals living and working in JB alone.

    What does this say ????

Use your BRAIN and not be “labelled” as “DAFT” by your G , anymore !

    Bloody Sin Frogs in a well…indeed !

Not supporting PAP, but don’t rush into it. Can backfire.

Cause pumping cost, treatment cost are not cheap then after treatment, pump back to Johor, so must look at the full picture.

Sometimes, PAP keep quite like fishing, waiting WP to take the bite.

On the other hand, we should do what they usually do, telling half true, or fully true but outdated information.

So, can spread this to the neighborhoods old aunties and uncles backdoor.

CC will fully support this cause he used it effectively.

Since everyone disagree with Phillip’s analaysis, can those agreed with our government come out with figures to show otherwise. If Singapore government selling back treated water is at huge lost, must well shut down the plant and return to Malaysia. Then buy treated water from Malaysia at $?.00. Or import water from China, Vietnam etc etc. Well all we have is MONEY.

    After this what next?
    Mahatir also no easy meat.
Still, the PAP has been $crewing common sgs big time from PUB to Singtel to NTUC FAIRPRICE/INCOME n whatnot!

PAP keeps collecting more n more $ from common sgs but keeps $quandering taxpayer money like *water*?

The LEEder has no real concern for common sgs’ hardships brought about by his daft polucied n policy practices.

He shud have been REPLACED N SHAMEF A LONG TIME AGO.

Many did not mention that LKY and Mahathir actually sat down in 1998 to renegotiate. The final pricing was agreed at 45sen. Everything ended well, or so we thought!

A few days later Mahathir went back his words when his backbenchers told him 45sen still ridiculous as HK was paying China 8 Yuan.

When reporters reminded mahathir he already agreed to the 45sen pricing, Mahathir retorted: But we never signed any contract!

So Singapore decided to stick to what was signed in 1962 instead. Arrogant? Maybe, because we are dealing with an arrogant s*ake who can easily go back on his words.

  • Vivian. time to wake up:

Please look at ourselves before trying to be arrogant. If Malaysia put some human shits into the Johor water, all of us will be drinking their shit water. They can also stop vegetables, fruits and meat item from coming to Singapore.

More importantly, if they stop the export of their Durians into Singapore., many Singaporeans will die from the lack of Durians in their systems as the Thai version is not suitable.

Just give and take and live in peace. Why want to take advantage of the Agreement ? Then why our CPF withdrawal age (as promised and agreed by LKY can be changed by LHL to 65 years old ?)

It may be legal just like the Ministers’ pay but is it right?

Hitler’s final solution of the Jews was also legal under the law at that time. So why is there so much revulsion about it–even to this day?

It seems to me that what is legal is a function of power, what is right is one of morality and ethics.

Of course, the PAP would not be able to distinguish and differentiate between the two. They work on the lowest moral denominator–what is legal–because it suits them.

Singaporeans do need to have a new set of Government to re-institute the moral fibre into the country.

4 of us, 2 cpts, 1 lta, 1 ssg. midpoint from last 15 years we decided we won’t lift a finger to defend someone’s bungalow. we are jobless HDB dwellers who needed to pledge our HDB to get back half OUR OWN money in CPF.

we won’t fight for water either. since we don’t have S$m in bank or a S$m job or freehold bungalows. we won’t.
