The suspension of the restriction of the No Fly Zone above Pasir Gudang

I welcome the agreement reached between the Malaysian and Singapore Foreign Ministers to suspend the restriction of the No Fly Zone above Pasir Gudang and also the implementation of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) for 1 month.

As for the maritime negotiations, the success or failure of it hinges to a very large extent the outcome of the subsequent airspace negotiations. But let’s remember that one month is not a lot of time and there are outstanding issues which have yet to be solved.

The Malaysian government has already issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that the airspace above Pasir Gudang is a restricted zone and expressed its displeasure over Singapore’s implementation of the ILS without their approval.

If we were Johor, we may understand their concerns better. If it backs down in its negotiations with Singapore over the airspace issues, there will be political costs. Yet in Singapore, the PAP government has been too arrogant to ignore their concerns for a long time.

Even as they kick the can further down the road, eventually they will still have to face it and the time to face is merely a month! Those superbly well-paid PAP Ministers must understand that short of going to war, we need them more than they need us.

Furthermore, the PAP government is reluctant to get an authoritative and credible third party – such as the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) – involved and the answer is obvious to some. Given that, the make or break of subsequent negotiations is really up to Singapore.

If the PAP was sincere, they would have found ways and means to work through it in the past.

I dont see how MY can be in the lower-end position when SG is depending on them for so many things.

You pulled a cloth drying line over my condo for so many years though I did not object then, you still want me to give you more space to hang your dripping clothes over my head with more galah?

Those living in condo agree do let us know. We go there to hang our clothes.

Maybe that’s how our PAP world-highest-paid government thinks, it can do anything and everything!!

Our Ministers and MPs think this is “punching above its weight”.

THIS TIME I THINK DR M is trying to F around with us.
either that or he is trying to test water with our 4G?

BUT TO TELL THE TRUTH,DR M has never really feel good about SG’s and sgs’ faster pace of progress compared to MALAYSIA.

THIS IS IN SOME MEASURE A BULLSHIT!

The wiley old fox Dr M will keep PAP on their toes.
We should be thanking him. Under this repressive gov, sgs have been forcibly put in virtual shackles.
Dr M is also sick & tired of working with PAP’s uppity attitude all these 5 decades n more.

    Great comments by Simon.

About this “kicking the fiacking can further down the Loong road”. Inside a NORMAL can USUALLY it contains stuffs like sardine, mushroom, prickled veg, baked beans,, etc. BUT inside this fiacking CAN that is mentioned by Simon, it contains the mother of all repulsive stuffs: ROTTEN and SMELLY HUMS aka cockles!

pap has been so used to bullying 70% sheep and getting what it wants with 0% sheep it forgets Msia is not sama sama as 70% sheep.

it is very good for Msia to make its stand clear. NO compromise. hope pap learns when it wants something it must give something too.

of course, not the giving of chicken wing and expecting to receive back a whole chicken. after all, Msia is not 70% sheep.

Singapore’s “faster pace of progress” comes at the expense of civil rights and citizens’ well-being. We are now suffering as a result of LKY’s mantra of growth at all cost, and today’s PAP leaders are merely continuing with this ethos.

Ah Long apparently looks to be MIA but more concerned with bruised ego and personal vendettas.

So far, one by one 4Gs did lots of chest thumping and noise making but now die down into eerie silence.

To say the least, 4Gs performance appear lacklustre and not up to scratch.

    What do you think?

    “Malaysia Water Tariffs Up”

I wondering if it meant that 1)malaysians have to pay more for their water usage or..

    2) Has SG gov agreed to pay more for the Johore raw water to SG.

Dr M is planning his next moves.

  • What if..?:

Very soon Malaysia gov will build their own water de-salinators/purifiers all over the country, bringing an end to decades of water squabbles with SG.
Why haven’t they done it sooner? Silly gooses!
Then SG will be fu#%*d !
Lets see how our 4G schoolboys deal with it.

  • Politics is a damned dirty game not suitable for commoners like us to even try to pretend to understand.

We should not wander into extreme realms to believe all the spouting of anti-Singapore vocals made by Dr Mahathir and his gang all this while. That is for the public consumption of his Malaysian electorate.

In reality, Dr M has been working closely with his counterparts in Singapore all this while. Reference: Pan El’s Tan Koon Suan, who was then MCA’s rising star.

Only slight technical glitches occur now and then on some of the outstanding unresolved matters, such as the water issue. But they can be overcome and resolved when the material time approaches.

    IMHO, of course.

true. drinking kopi behind the scene ? but the wayang could become real if not managed carefully because many unknowing part time ‘actors’ (as they are not given the script) may get pulled and sucked into the game and act on it; and pay the price (you need fall guys to take the fall for matter that somehow goes off script).

well you need real life soldiers & pilots (could be sons, fathers and brothers of someone else) from both sides to protect their water & sky right – that is reality also.
