Support change along both routes

Many citizens born between 1945 to 1965 supported the PAP under the first generation leadership but are disappointed with the current government under PM Lee. The find the current leaders to be:

a) incompetent
b) self serving
c) arrogant.

These disappointed citizens come under two groups, when it comes to supporting the alternative parties:

a) The first group wants the alternative parties must be able to form the govt.

b) The second group wants the alternative parties to aim for a large number of seats in Parliament without the goal to form a government, as it may scare away the middle ground voters.

I find both goals to be acceptable. It will be good for the future of Singapore under both scenarios.

a) A strong opposition in Parliament will be able to force the ruling party to change some of its bad policies.

b) An alternative government will be able to bring about change, even though they may have to struggle for some time to put matters right.

I ask these disappointed voters to keep an open mind and to support the alternative parties, without insisting on their specific point of view.

We need change and there is no point in arguing over the route that needs to be taken. Both routes will lead to change, and should be for the better.

  • Bapak:

There is another group who wants PAP completely disappear. And send the Sinkies70 to re-education camps to have their brain re-wired. This is the most effective way to bring SG back. Never let the virus a chance to surface again. Cut grass, pluck roots.

  • patriot of TUMASIK:

Absolutely WRONG Mr Tan…the Groups are 1…The Civil Servants/Arm Force/Police or retired Civil Servants now serving self-interest groups in PAP grassroots…

and…2… the INDEPENDENT Singaporean self Employed(Business) or Commercial workers

and the Variance is about 3 to 1 in Group 1 Favour with the Group 2 mostly in the 30% opposition of The PAP

Group 1 may be UNHAPPY but their retirement perks & pension will keep them in the PEN, like the rest of the Sheep…

HOPE lies on the Y-Gen with a “Thinking” mind now exposed through the Internet…hence the Govt’s effort to control or clamp the Net

That Mr Tan is how I see it relating with most at PUBLIC and PRIVATE conversation and NOT the BS National CONverstion…The Fear & Reluctance to discuss is CLEAR but I manage to pry open their FRUSTRATIONS or sycophantic aspirations through sincere dialogue giving Credit when DUE and condemning when TRUE base on Rational “FACTS” not History written by winners & liars…Especially Historians and academics Beholden ArseHOLES

  • NotMyProblem:

I am among those who like the total change of government. That’s only my aim and wish for my children and grand children.

The problem is Singapore voters are not like Malaysia voters. If Malaysia voters were like Singapore voters, Najib would still be the PM of Malaysia, no one would be any wiser on 1MDB.

Imagine Singaporeans still believe in the shit of HIP2 and VERS. I like to ask how happy are those having the Pioneer Generation Package. The Merdeka Package is on the way, it is supposed to be better than the Pioneer Generation.

Vivian Balakrishnan was impressive in his speech on 28 January at the Institute of Policy Studies gathering.
He could still contribute and be relevant.

    @There are some good ones
Bala was a good one? I thought so during his Varsity years. He was impressive in the Varsity Debate. But after scouted by PAP, and joined the PAP mob, he became another arrogant, self serving aristocrat. Ask “You want meal in restaurant or hocker center”
Basically, I can only one Good PAP minister (Real true people’s elected President OTC) – no state funeral? The only way to be a good minister is to work for the people and risk being destroyed by the rotted PAP government. So far, he is still collecting his millions and enjoying his high life – he is far from being (GOOD ONES).
