Budget 2019 – When the Party Ends and the Music Stops Playing

At a rally during the General Elections in 2015, SDP Secretary-General Chee Soon Juan said:

“The PAP has pulled out all the stops, giving concessions here, rebates there and getting everyone drunk with SG50 merriment.

But what happens when the party is over, my friends? What happens when the music stops playing and all the guests go home? Your housing loan is still not paid, the electricity bill has gone up, and the guy that threw the party now sends you the bill for the cake, the decorations and the drinks.”

True enough. After GE 2015, the PAP raised water prices, car-park charges, bus fares, ERP rates, gas and electricity tariffs, Town Council charges, and kindergarten, polytechnic, ITE, university fees, etc. It is going to raise the GST in a couple of years time.

History is repeating itself. Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat announced the Bicentennial Bonus in his Budget Statement yesterday with giveaways designed to sweeten the sour public sentiment that has built up over the last few years. It seems that the bigger the government’s problems, the bigger the sweets.

This is a most myopic and irresponsible way of spending public funds. Rather than use the budget wisely to reform the system to prepare Singapore for the myriad of challenges that confront us, the PAP is engaging in short-term pork-barreling to entice votes.

For example, nothing in the current Budget addresses the high cost of living in the world’s most expensive city, the seriously unaffordable public housing, and an outmoded education system that does not prepare our children for the future.

Singaporeans must see through the gimmick and hold the government to higher standards of accountability.

As in the 2015 Budget, Singaporeans will have to pay for the giveaways because, ultimately, the government gets its money from the people.

Budget 2019 is no different. After the next elections which is widely expected to be held later this year – when the party comes to an end and the music stops playing – the PAP will send the taxman to our door and demand payment for the celebrations.

That happens because the majority of Sinkies are too engrossed in the struggling to earn a living to pay for the high cost of living in Singapore, coupled with the curtailment on the alternative media, many don’t get to hear such messages. Coupled with the spin and lies they gulped down from the PAP’s msm, they easily become N. Koreanized.

There needs to be more concerted efforts to get such messages across.

  • HSK a top rated Minister:

Heng Swee Kiat is a top rated Minister and highly regarded by the PAP to have the best mind amongst them all such that they have unequivocally chosen him to be Singapore’s next PM. He also deserves to continue to be paid more than any other leader in the world. That’s what he and the whole PAP team is worth.

Table below show estimates of how much you will pay for 9% GST Per Year Excluding your personal income tax. (based on 12+1 months take home salary, and 80% spent, 10% saving.)

Take Home Pay : 9% GST You will unwittingly Pay to the PAPi
    $1,000 $1,053.0
    $1,500 $1,579.5
    $2,000 $2,106.0
    $2,500 $2,632.5
    $3,000 $3,159.0
    $3,500 $3,685.5
    $4,000 $4,212.0

    $6,000 $6,318.0

Instead of all these subsidies n giveaways , why not lower the electricity & water rates for at least 2 years.
Then remove gst from all essential services, esp food, healthcare, and utility bills.
This would have made most citizens happier, rather than all those “can see, cannot touch’ gifts!

SDP, THE PARTY HAS LONG ENDED BEFORE 2012, did the PAPpys know that?

In October 2012, a no entity jogger in New York wrote in a prestigious investment periodical – Seeking Alpha – this alarm bell.

    Singapore’s Economy Is Maxed Out
    Oct. 4, 2012 2:27 PM ET|36

    https://seekingalpha.com/article/905081-singapores-economy-is-maxed-out

4Gs either don’t know, DIAM DIAM DIAM or simply DON’T CARE!

One even promise us a bigger flood of foreigners – in effect an expansion of the FAILED POPULATION RECYCLING ECONOMICS.

A lot of the budget money over the years have seen money from all kinds of backdoor tax including GST (taxing from mouth to an*s) gone into spending on amenities, healthcare and transportation to cater for a ever exploding foreign population.

Come election year – PAPpys got the same formulae – MORE ELECTION LOLLY for selected target voters.

How can LEE-jiapore not be sinking under the weight of overpopulation that is UNDERPRODUCTIVE except for cheaper costs of hiring foreigners?

The incredibly shrinking stock market illuminated by Bloomberg tells a compelling story – LEE-jiapore is sinking and rotting away.

The over-paid over-hyped and over self-glorified PAPpys are neither

    - asset builder not

    - asset traders.

More and more middle class reducing to poverty-stricken peasantry.

When LKY publicly derogated Singaporeans as remained inert. A real man ipolitical leader would have publicly wept n lije a Japanese kamajazied to amend his guilt of suppreesing his citizens till this extent but with a Camb educatiin, he should have the honour to resign after a self denounciation that he has failed to motivate the citizens to be thinking man with integrity’dignity n pride to standup n get rid of him. in fact this is used to regain power every GE. Singaporeans should by now be feeling angry n rid these arrogant hungry, greedy n agressive traitors for they aren’t worthyvof the mandate.
Suspicions should have been planted when pap needs mire than one minisre to man a ministry plus th f mmittees n exprts they ave engaged all at te expence of the citizens to give thel the ideas invariablyvbetraying the natiins n benefutting the foreigners. They have exploited the trust of Singaporeans n make a mockery of national security n patrioitism of NSmen. The citizen is loyal to the Nation n would be criminally violates the

A population dares to oppose policy n party n individual if he/she feels wrong for him /her n his / her fellow citizens This is the right to differ n agree of a citizen as stipulated in the Constitution n should be honoured by the elected govt n individual n not to go against it.Pap has 50 years to learn this basic prinple n that is far too long. they take n have not come to the senses of this very fundamental of . So Singaporeans wait no more n fooled no more by their pre election trickeries. They should be doing it during their 5 y terls n not just 1 or 2 months b4 GE. The fact that this time abt 8 months is the fear of power lost n face judgement or critical assessment by citizenry be it criminal, plain unworthiness or goodness. The actual medicine to the long term ailment was never given and they had never intended to prescribe for those needy of it at all. The same goes to general appeal for this/that ban to be lifted and that needed concession to be given but instead they give you something else to substitute. End of the day, you will not get what you truly desire or deserving of.

This is a case of overpaid pigs trying hard to make monkeys out of us by throwing peanuts to us. Their ploy has always been the same tax us and make beggars out of us through all these little giftaways. Never forget the giveaways are only an election ploy and we have to pick up the bill over the years that follow. GST increase is definitely on the cards. Why not have estate duty to cover the gap? The obvious is that it would hit the pockets of the rich. Pay back has already come into effect when you shop in JB.

Hoseh being reluctant to lend his donkey to the neighbor he didn’t like told him very politely, “I would love to loan you my donkey but only yesterday my brother came from the next town to use it to carry his wheat to the mill for grinding. The donkey sadly is not here.” The poor guy was disappointed, but he thanked Hoseh and began to walk away. Just as he got a few steps ahead, Hoseh’s donkey, which was in the back of his compound all the time, suddenly let out a big bray! The neighbor turned towards Hoseh: “Mr. Hoseh sir, I thought you told me your donkey was not here?” Hoseh turned to his stunned neighbor and asked, “My friend, who are you going to believe? Me or the donkey!?

If you are a “simpleton sillyzean”….you would be “swayed” by Ah Heng’s “hollow promised” of “reducing” F/ts employment.

In “words” everything can sound so “NOBLE”….but in PRACTICE,…there is always a “Loop hole”.

Of course the standard guideline currently is 60/40 foreigner dependency ratio ….how else can it Go” ???…when 50/50 ( ie 1 local and 1 foreigner would certainly be unacceptable and sounded ridiculous.

So whats the next possible ratio ?

Of course the minimal ( by any acceptable logic ) is 2 local than can employ 1 foreigner ( inorder to facilitate a real simple business and operable setup )

    So by any logic,…the maths have already shown to be 33.3% ( 1 local) + 33.3% ( another local ) + 33.3% ( a foreigner)

That would implied that…ah heng Cannot possibly reduce any further below 33.3%.( otherwise many small sme will not be able to operate with 2 locals as minimal requirement )

But what does “reducing from 60/40 to 62/38 ” really mean ???

The answer is peanuts !!!….ie out of 100 employees strength…only 2 local position is made and 2 foreigner position is reduced ie from 60 increase to 62 and from 40 reduce to 38 ???

Even if ah heng were to change and reduced to 33% ( the minimally lowest limit) that he can go to make any sense to any smallest local setup…that would only mean increasing what was once 60 locals to a max of 67 locals and reducing 40 foreigners to 33 foreigners….ONLY 7 persons difference in a company strength of 100 ????

So,….if you really sit down and “do your maths”,…what may “sound good and noble”,..simply “does not mpact” any REAL CHANGE physically !!

Moreover,.all that Pappy need to do to “circumvent” the “ratio” is to “increase the levy” to allow any Company to “break the 62/38 ratio.

    Its already BEEN DONE !!!

That is why our Casino are paing Foreign worker levey to our G for as much as $800 to $ 1,000 per month “against” the NORM of what many local simpletons “thought” that the ratio of 60/40 was REALLY BEING ADHERED to ???

Not all “levy charges” are the SAME !!!

If your “dependency ratio” EXCEEDs 60/40….all you need to do as an employer is JUST PAY HIGHER LEVIES…all will be OK ! ( everything circumvented )

Hope those SIMPLETONs won’t be “so easily” be “appleased” by a “hollow word” of promising to reduce from 40% to 38%

Only “sounded good and caring to locals”…but really “does nothing to improve” local’s interest!
