Big problem with the way justice is perceived to be executed in Singapore

There’s a big problem with the way justice is perceived to be executed in Singapore, especially when you consider the treatment of socio-political activist Jolovan Wham and the group of foreign workers who held a sit-down protest outside the old CPF building in the CBD area.

Wham held up a sign outside the State Court on 2 Jan, in support of other alternative news site editor Terry Xu and contributor Daniel de Costa.

Wham said that he held up the sign, snapped the photo, and left. He was then brought to the police station and questioned, and had his phone confiscated. According to Wham, he was investigated for “illegal assembly”.

According to the police, “organising or participating in a public assembly without a Police permit is illegal in Singapore”

Even at Speakers’ Corner, which is Singapore’s designated “protest” area, only Singapore citizens and permanent residents are allowed to participate in assemblies that do not have a permit.

Why then did the police not detain any of the 30 foreign workers who protested in the CBD, and had reportedly been protesting for 3 days before they were approached by police?

Because their protest was related to a private company owing them wages?

According to the police, “the parties involved were advised accordingly”.

That appears to be lenient compared to the Wham’s one-man “take photo and leave” show.

What’s going on?

    @ John:

The difference is that Jolovan Wham is an activist who opposes the PAP.

And there are three sets of laws in SG. One for the PAP and the privileged, another for the opponents and critics of the PAP, and a third set for the rest of us.

Besides, the police serves only the PAP and works for the PAP before anyone else, even though they are paid for by the taxpayers.

You remember AIM? They were on the side of the criminals, before justice, because the protagonists are … the P*P.

  • Wake up:

Now we should know what to do in the coming GE.

We think it will be held in 2020. It is their trick to see how the oppo will react and they will counter their plans.

Also they know that they will lost big so they want to get as much tax-payer money so they can retire.

Please wake up NOT for yourselves BUT for your next generation. We need a complete change.

  • one country two systems:

    What’s going on?

what’s going on? it is suppression of truth.

Kdramas show it clearly. in Skorea, the rich and powderful abuse system for own advantage and when someone dares to tell the truth all manner of legal interpretation is thrown at the person to suppress truth. good thing is, in Skorea, there is no contempt of court law and citizens with dare can turn things around and put the evil rich and powderful behind bars.

alas such cannot happen here in 70% sheep land. the evil rich and powderful here abuse all manner of law. even tell lies like INDIAN is malay in broad daylight. and if any soul dares to question, the inner circle agc and the inner circle appointed judges all come out with contempt of court law and silence the daring soul. so much so every wrong is ruled as legally right.

can such a regime continue? NO. because humans all report to the ultimate maker. when maker decides enough is enough, these evil rich and powderful all shall face the music. since GE2015 we no longer fret for 70% sheep. because it is a waste of time. we just wait and watch. if regime change happens during our lifetime, then, maker has heard our cries. if not, we accept and just live our lives not lifting a single finger for any sheep.

It is not why they don’t take action against 30 foreign workers or those protesting against the puppy torturer. I think it is because Jolovan is kena marked by the white elites. I think his name and others (e.g Selan Pillay) are in their blacklist records. The blue uniform forces are constantly watching over them.

when one of the highest office is magically 4 = 5 and selected = elected, anything lesser than this can even be more so wayang ???

  • They came for the Jews:

Singaporeans need to be educated :
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
