Millennials get the thin end of the wedge from the PAP

If you are a millennial, you would be getting a bad bargain from the PAP government. Unless you are one of the privileged few, you are likely to be working in an industry where there is increasing uncertainty about the long term job prospects and where wages are stagnant.

You find yourself having to work increasingly long hours with no work-life balance to speak of, in order to just make ends meet. A HDB apartment takes 30 years of a couples combined effort to pay off and starting a family is becoming harder and harder each day as you worry about the financial cost of having children.

The PAP talks a lot about helping young parents start families but you realise that once the packaging is torn off, there is nothing underneath of substance. Their latest mantra is pre-school education. But so many young parents are already finding nursery a financial burden. Pre-school will mean another layer of cost for hard-pressed young families.

As a Nation, we have the resources to lighten the burden on our young people so that they can comfortably start families. That way our fertility rate of 1.26, which is the 4th lowest in the world, will be boosted. Recently, the Japanese Parliament passed legislation to make pre-school for children 3-5 years old free in order to boost the country’s fertility rate. But of course the PAP will not entertain such thoughts and will want pre-school to be a profitable enterprise too!

The PAP will spend extravagant sums on projects such as the Jewel ($1.7 Billion) and the Founders Memorial (at least $50 million) without the MRT cost factored in yet, but will not help our millennials and young families.

Peoples Voice believes that public funds should not be wasted on such extravagant projects such as the Jewel or Founders Memorial which bring little value to our people. They should instead be put to better use in assisting our young and old!

@Lim Tean; millennial are supposed to be smarter than their parents. Their parents spent a lot of money sending them to oversea Uni to obtain their degrees.

These millennial are earning more, very much more than their parents did during their time, why they need to worry so much? They have to worry about marriage, housing, childcare, education, healthcare, jobs.

Some did not have any idea that the PUB’s tariff increased, they stay with parents and parent paid for everything. They die without cell phones.

Have this millennial ever ask? Was this because of the government’s policy?

@Lim Tean; the Founders Memorial is a temple for the younger generation to worship. Why need so many mosques, churches, temples for what, just one Memorial will do! Believe only in one god, the PAP god!

“They should instead be put to better use in assisting our young and old!”. OMG, the middle age group people are also suffering. Some have both parents and children to support, but the they chose to suffer in silent because of their pride and loyalty towards PAP gov.

Lee Ah Long got Math Tripos from renowm Cambridge but all he knows is NEXT TO ZERO!

He has singled-handedly destroyed what common sgs have painstakingly built for their families while helping to build this NATION.

Singaporean minds are simplistic, they dont see so far:

    1. You buy BTO, you carry 25 years loan?
    2. How are you able to afford medical if your CPF money is all gone to paying HDB?
    3. Do you have a job after 40 when PAP keeps importing FTs to replace you?
    4. Can your CPF help you retire?

These young people overwhelming voted PAP in GE 2015, not sure they know what they are voting for?

    Bullshit

Try having to live under LKY and his regime of total obedience back in the 1960′s. Go to real National Service and pay for it the rest of your life while you watching FT get jobs you are not allowed to.

Today’s pampered Millenials want for nothing. They have every opportunity. to VTO and know exactly why they need to do it.

Pity them? My big toe is laughing…..

Not only young people, but old folks too.

Every morning we walk around hawker centre telling citizens never to trust pap and to vote OPPO.

There is this small provision shop. Shop keeper typical cina helicopter educated. Says clown pap open leg policy is good for his business, as more people means chance for him to sell more increases. We just shake our head at such narrow minded selfish thinking that does not weigh small island land size and how squeezing can cause all kinds of chaos and low quality living.

A LOT OF THE MILLENNIALS, not all, are entitled, shallow, selfish, narcissistic but digitally-savvy-AND-lazy by it. The result is that they have lost anchor of who they are, where they are and their compass and connection to society, needs to be constantly peer “approved” in their fantasy digital small world.

In the word of one US politician, they are stuck in a social disease.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez quits Facebook, calls social media ‘a public health risk’

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-quits-facebook-calls-social-media-a-public-health-risk-2019-04-15

Believe it or not, some of Sinkieland’s millennials are LITERALLY – MAID-FED in the mouth just days from when they got married.

How on bloody earth are they going to survive a life/career crisis if one slaps them in the face of retrenchment, business failure or any other life accident or misfortune hit of serious health detriment consequence?

They even forgot where they got now is because their parents funded their education, first car and a huge portion of their first home downpayment.

Are they going to survive when their parents’ generation is gone as THEY MUST LEAVE SOME DAY?

A lot of millennials have very little savings when they strike out to start their own family, just like their parents were, BUT UNLIKE THE LATTER, the millennials have no striving, risks taking in staggering odd of fear and often seemingly overwhelming odds reality confronting. I could remember my dad’s working on a small tanker bringing refined aviation fuel from Singapore up the Mekong river during the Vietnam War – a Vietcong ambush attack any moment must bring an immediate inferno in that highly combustible environment to instant incineration. If you talk to your millennials of how their grandpa risks life to feed the family, the reply could come like this – I WASN’T BORN THEN, I DONT KNOW, DON’T NEED TO KNOW AND I DIDN’T ASKED TO BE BORN.

So what do they say now when they become fathers and mothers of their own children – when they lost their jobs, little or no savings, drive a car and likes to eat in expensive Japanese restaurants, drinks in Starbuck and dying to upgrade to the latest foldable digital device?

THEIR ATMS (mom and dad) could be all gone.

I look at a lot of our millennials – there is one conclusion that constantly hit my mind – WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THIS “ME ME ME AND ONLY ME GENERATION” when in less than two even one decade, we are all gone to TERN SUA NEVER TO RETURN to share their hopelessly drowning fate and pull them back from extinction.

The battle-hardened foreigners, some with global experience WILL OUTCLASS our maid-cared caterpillars.

THE MILLENNIALS CANNOT BE BREAST-FED and cared for from the cradle to the grave.

At some point, they have to be let go and find their survival map, take risks and confront challenges. The stable state of cushioned comfort of security blanket to life ending is FART OF FICTION or at least a hallucination.

Life has choices and choices must be made and every choice will delimit future choices. That is the same in politics and business, the status quo of seeming political stability outside and mom-and-dad economic security protection seemingly forever is only as secure as the passing wind.

Millennials, if they want to secure their future have to step back, reflect on reality confronting and make choices (no turning back after that of a sub-optimal choice) of votes. No use crying later, that when they reach 40s, get retrenched and displaced by cheaper import, stuck with a huge mortgage with CPF entombed in that coffin and still that fleeting glimpse and dreaming of good life ever returning ALL VAPORIZED into fear and lost bewilderment of obvious no survival chances (and TWO PERPETUAL ATMs of mom-and-dad bank gone and near relatives don’t want to share the raining of tears, sorrow and desperate pleas for help as they too got battles of their own to fight).

In a world of turbulent change, STABILITY IS DEATH SENTENCE because the stable state must fall into the death spiral of no adaptation to changes and with that comes total irrelevance and inevitable extinction. IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU DON’T CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE, the future of extinction will choose you by INEVITABLE default.

A businessman cannot force you to buy his product; if he makes a mistake, he suffers the consequences; if he fails, he takes the loss. A bureaucrat/politician forces you to obey his decisions, whether you agree with him or not—and the more advanced the stage of a country’s statism, the wider and more discretionary the powers wielded by a bureaucrat. BRILLIANT INSIGHTFUL THOUGHTS SHARING THERE, thanks mate. Top public service positions must be market-oriented of competitive filling – the best of the best and APOLITICAL – INSTEAD OF PAPpypolitics HABITUAL FILLING OF THESE CRITICAL ROLES WITH THEIR OWN SELF-SELECT POLITICALLY-CORRECT CRONIES.

The findings of this research in a sage journal on evolutionary psychology is VERY DISTURBING AS IT IS INFORMING of flawed decision-making in political and business leadership.

In layman terms, it is pig chooses pig, cockcroach chooses cockcroach, rat chooses rat, moron choose moron in that proverbial Shakespearean Animal Farm.

Intuitively, we see that in nature, monkey huddles with their own specie, hippo with their own kind, same as giraffes from the days of dinosaur age.

THE CONSEQUENCE IS VERY DAMAGING FOR NATIONAL PROGRESS because yes men and yes women DON’T QUESTION MINISTERIAL STUPIDITY, they just obey and comply with stupidity – THE PEASANTRY GIVE THEM THE PUT OPTION of underwriting the losses – exactly like the Fed lower, lowerer and lowerest interest rate after the GFC, the end result is no and delayed economic adjustment to reality, slow growth FREIGHTED up from sinking by an ever-escalating mountain of debt.

Such degraded top bureaucrats would supply us a better entertainment show by giving us a strip tease show.
