How do you expect your changes to be implemented?

Someone asked me – Mr. Tan, you have made many suggestions to change many government policies and strategies. How do you expect to get these changes implemented, if you do not become the prime minister? Frankly, you chance of being PM is quite low, isn’t it?

Here is my reply.

I cannot do much on my own, except to share my ideas and the changes that should be done to address the challenges faced by the people in Singapore.

If we want to see change, we need all like minded people to act together. And they only need to act in this way.

They should vote non PAP. They should not bother about the background of the non PAP candidate – as it does not matter.

If every one who wants to see change in our government act in this way, we will get a parliament that is NOT dominated by PAP. We may see 30 or more candidates from the non PAP side.

When that happens, the PAP will get a strong message that they have to change their policies. How should they change?

They can adopt some of the ideas that I have set out in this website. They may appoint me as an adviser. It would be a wise decision for them to take.

Maybe, they have their own ideas of the changes that are needed. It is okay – so long as they realize that they cannot continue the bad policies.

It is up to the people of Singapore. If you want change, you have to vote non PAP. Do not be dissuaded from this goal.

    @ Mr. Tan Kin Lian,

MATE, CAN I OFFER YOU ONE SUGGESTION? If PAPpypolitics appoints you as its adviser, you may want to change your name to Mr. Tan King Kong. It will, AT MINIMUM, gives substance and prominence to your TOWERING FICTION OF WISDOM – long discovered by commenters in TRE!!

    UPROARIOUS LAUGHTER YET AGAIN.

You are limited by your vision. Most policies are decided on the basis of selective self interests and self promotions by selective self glorification.

These are makers and dealers from upper echelon of society and therefore the expected outcome is very predictable or as predictable as the housing market or who would likely top the class in varsities.

You need “good soil” for change. All of you are choked by materialism and the voice of credentials.

When a rabbi is presented to you, you say he is a rabbi and must know what he is talking about.

All policies are debated and formulated by the weight of the… Hammer.

Can you tell us, how many members does PAP have? How can we be dominated by such a small group?

    this is the truth.

the only way for change is to topple pap.

    there is no other way.

expecting pap to do right is to expect the female pig to climb trees. it ain’t going to happen.

  • NotMyProblem:

@Mr. Tan; you are right, to have change we must vote non-PAP, because PAP will not change! It’s not in their DNA for that and it is not capable of change!

HK protesters could make changes with their lives for the cause. SG only need to do that with their votes, can SG do that?

Let’s don’t compare SG with HK, we compare ourselves with Malaysians will do.

Malaysia does not have as much graduates as Singapore has by percentage, but Malaysians are smarter, they could sense problem with 1MDB and promptly got rid of the Bossku and now recovering the losses.

Singaporeans only good at asking “What Opposition can do?”, they don’t even know what happened to our Reserve, GLC, GIC, Temasek, CPF, etc. When the govt gave them few hundred dollars to buy their votes, they are so happy!!

If we want proof of “Stupidity has no cure”, just talk to Singaporeans, 70% of them! A female HK protester has more ball than our NS-trained Singaporean.

Just hope we could have change coming GE. It’s People vs PAP, PAP loses is People win.

  • HDB flats depreciate to ZERO:

Absolutely right. The only way to get PAP to take the views of Singaporeans seriously is to have the Opposition MPs occupy 40 seats in Parliament. Better still make PAP a minority party, i.e., REGIME CHANGE.

It would be a “wise decision” to appoint YOU as an advisor to implement changes in pap policy tkl????!!!! YOU, of all people????!!!! The ONLY idea of yours they would implement is that ONLY members of the ruling party can elect the country’s leaders, because that would perpetuate their stranglehold on power forever!!!! NO WAY will they ever implement the rest of your ideas, NOT because they’ll benefit ordinary Singaporeans, but BECAUSE they’re SO STUPID EVEN the pap would think twice about copying them. And you HOPE to get into parliament and be appointed a government advisor????!!!! DREAM ON!!!! Or BETTER YET, pack your mouth will activated carbon tablets to adsorb and soak up the flatulence and watery stools spewing from it!!!!

besides some self-serving scholars causing the PAP leaders to make poor policy decisions,a more serious problem is SELF-SERVING N SELFISH GRASSROOT LEADERS who furnish FAKE ‘NEWS’ about the ground itself.

Many of the grassroot members these days are more concerned with their own interests than that of the COMMON SGS,THE COMMON GOOD OF THE PEOPLE.

Many throw their WEIGHT OR TRY TO INFLUENCE MANY OF OUR CIVIL SERVANTS to ‘serve’ their won needs.
it is well documented how LTA allows illegal parking and grant other favours to grassroot leaders/members.

these days it takes A CIVIL SERVANT WITH HIGH INTEGRITY N TRUE COURAGE to CARRY OUT THEIR DUTIES/ROLES without being afraid of the PRESSURE FROM ‘POWERFUL’ GRASSROOTERS who can even show DISRESPECT to our civil servants especially those working on the ground.

it is sad the IDEA OF GRASSROOTS IS BEING SUBJECT TO ADULTERATION N ABUSE,deviating from the objectives of our OLD GUARDS who personally ensure that their own GRASSROOTERS WERE OF THE UTMOST INTEGRITY themselves and become grassrooters to SERVE OTHERS AND MAKE SG A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGE IS TO CHANGE THE VALUES OF OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS AND GRASSROOTERS TO THOSE HELD BY OUR EARLIER LEADERS IN ORDER TO REMAKE SG INTO A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY FOR ALL SGS ONCE AGAIN AND JUST JUST FOR A SELECT GROUP AND THE SELF-SERVING GRASSROOTERS.

MANY GRASSROOT MEMBERS GIVE FALSE FEEDBACK TO OUR LEADERS/MPs who often trust these self-serving grassrooters for one reason or another.

TIME TO RECLAIM THE GOOD VALUES WE ONCE HAVE AS TRU BLU sgs.

those who just want to SERVE THEIR OWN INTERESTS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM JOINING GOVT/PUBLIC SERVICE AND GRASSROOTS.
