CNB officer charged for assaulting man to extort confession

Last Friday (4 Oct), an officer with the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) was charged with three counts of voluntarily causing hurt to extort a confession from a man about drugs found in his bag.

According to court papers, 32 year-old Vengedesh Raj Nainar Nagarajan had attacked the victim, Sivabalan Kanniappan, three times between 6am and 9am that day at the Woodlands Checkpoint CNB Block on 2 Jan 2017.

Vengedesh is said to have kicked, punched and slapped the victim in order to get him to confess that he knew about two bundles of drugs found in his raincoat bag. He also wanted the victim to confess that one of the bundles contained heroin.

Vengedesh was offered bail of S$15,000 and will return to court on Nov 1.

If found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt to extort a confession, he could be jailed for up to seven years and fined or caned.

  • Why?:

Why only 7 years when assembly can already use machine gun? For officer who knows the law and run afoul of it should be given at least 3 times of 7 years and minister should be given 10 times more. OK we are more human than them so no need use machine gun on them.

Isn’t this is the Noble procedure used by Lee Kayu and Gang in Operation Cold Storage and Operation Spectrum when all those arrested were subjected to Various methods of torture which were many many times WORST than the method used by V Raj? Many of those arrested in the 2 Operations were tortured and made to confess that they were in cahoot with the Communist to overthrow the Lee Kayu Coverment!

Sometimes harden crooks need to be taught a hard lesson?
But the police must know who are the real crooks.

It would be wrong if the police whack the good guys.
In this matter, many grassLOOTers take advantage of their connections n behave like crooks even to hindering the police from carrying out their duties.

Law and Order must be restored.
Police must catch thieves n brigands but protect the good people from getting bullied.

Where are the brave n upright policemen?
    No more CARDBOARD ONES pls!

  • must be alien ceca ah neh:

after 54 years of pap rule, it is unlikely Singaporeans today behave in such a cruel manner. impossible. unless pap government has failed.

therefore the ah neh beating ah neh must be alien ceca ah neh beating another ah neh from Msia or ceca. either way it is senseless for such to have happened if pap has not opened legs to the world and to ceca ah nehs.

deeper analysis shows such can happen in once great Singapore only because pap government has allowed it to happen. sad.

I know of a burglary from a bungalow that resulted in 7 years jail for a friend.

This ABUSE OF POWER is Betrayal of Public Trust and Assault to powerless citizens being held under custody.

He should be sentenced to death.

This episode proves why TRUST is a 4letter word and why WITHOUT TRANSPARENCY, EVEN GOOD CIVIL SERVANTS CAN EVENTUALLY ABUSE OUR TRUST ABD ABUSE HIS POWERS .

THIS IS WHY A DEMOCRACY NEEDS OPPOSITION SERVING AS CHECK AND BALANCE AND DICTATORSHIP OR ONE PARTY RULE WITH UNFETTERED POWER IN THE HANDS OF ONE PERSON IS UNSUSTAINABLE
