Malaysia’s travel ban

Malaysia travel ban is indeed a wake-up call to those people who are watching, following the developments and businesses that are affected by it but I am not sure about the pap ministars who are, I believe, still enjoying their fat salaries save for a one month blip, and their more good years.

People can only wake-up provided they want to wake-up. Foreign workers, especially those from Malaysia and China were initially sold to Singaporeans as supplementing our local workforce. I believe that many older Singaporeans can still remember those clever official lines.

Our falling total fertility rate (TFR) issue is not new at all and the pap government knew about it for decades now but it is so clear to any Singaporeans who cares enough that the challenges to effectively tackle it has never been a lack of money issues but rather, a lack of political resolve and the political will to tackle it head-on. Had those fat salaries earning pap ministars being successful at arresting the decline or even a 50% success rate, Singapore today may not be such dependant on foreign manpower and be at the mercy of foreign manpower.

Different terms of pap government ignored it and left it on the back-burner to fester. Instead, they opted for the easy and lazy ways of mass importation of foreigners not just to supplement but to even substitute disappearing Singaporeans and today, it is not an understatement to say that the Singapore economy is at the mercy of foreign manpower.

Any disruptions to foreigners working in Singapore, either through foreign government’s policies or our own domestic demands will cripple our first world economy in no time and bring us all to our knees, all compliments and thanks to an “exceptional pap leadership”.

I believe that if our people are still complacent and indifferent to the so called “incompetence” of the pap government given this current Malaysia travel ban experiences and lessons, it is only a matter of time for us all to pay very, very dearly for the stupidity and complacency of the majority among us for continuing trusting a seemingly invincible pap government.

You have been warned. Think.

Aftermath Covid 19, think a lot of the current FTs previously considering of migrating to SinKapore in the LOONG TERM and subsequently becoming Sinkaporean, May have 2nd or 3rd thought! Period. By witnessing the grounding of SIA planes and the various dire situations happening day in and day out, most of these so-called FTs will develop CHICKEN FEET! Mai Hum game plan of 6.9 population maybe in jeopardy. Look around at the once moving towering booming cranes at the various BTO sites BUT NOW quiet as church mouse, it’s quite creepy and scary. Hopefully it’s just temporarily. Hopefully those developers(mostly from PRC)have not gone belly up due to Covid 19 and will return to FULFILL Mai Hum’s GRAND VISION of 6.9 or even the PERFECT 10! Huat Arh.

  • Another perspective:

From another perspective, SME who have been struggling to survive before this crisis could be sighing with reliefs that some of their workers couldn’t return from Malaysia and are out on no-pay leave, and at the same time could get some financial rebates for the absentees. Their business partners are also slowing and so are their transaction volume. So when crisis ends, all blames can attribute to this virus thing. To some this opporutnity is “god-send” .
