Masagos reflects how out of touch PAP Ministers are with the ground

1. Mr Masagos earns over $50k a month.

2. He doesn’t understand what it feels like when your only income is suddenly choked.

3. He labelled people who ‘incite’ home-based food-business operators as irresponsible.
4. He doesnt indicate who these people (the irresponsible) are

5. A petition was started calling for the gov to revise some of its policies for home-based businesses.

6. If he (Masagos) was referring to these people as irresponsible, then he is bullying democracy and trying to silence even a peaceful online petition.

7. Where else can the people’s voice be heard? There is no consultation with the affected masses before these laws are implemented. It’s their only avenue to be heard considering that public demonstration is prohibited.

8. Whether the gov can make exceptions or not, is besides the point. To call the people irresponsible for making their voices heard is the hallmark of a dictator.

9. He doesnt understand that some are relying on their home-based income to support the family, pay medical bills, put food on the table.

10. Mr Masagos is not the representative of the people but instead is the mouthpiece of the gov although elected by the people to represent them.

Dont be like Masagos.

    Hi Osman:

I totally agree with you. As minorities, our so called MPs who has to piggy back through the GRC to get into parliament is supposedly to represent us minorities. Sadly this has never been the case since decades..all minority representatives in parliament has sold their souls to the PAP. I am an Indian and apologise to you and others for playing the race card. I hate doing it but what needs to be said has to be said. To quote you.. he is bullying democracy and trying to silence even a peaceful online petition..

    Cheers

  • Stoic Stoic Govt:

”Our government does not make decisions under pressure” Minister Masagos Zulkifli – April 27.
”Home-based businesses are an important source of income for many families, especially when the coronavirus pandemic has cut into household income, said Halimah Yacob in a Facebook post on Friday (May 1).”
”we hope that this petition will make HDB revise their approach to handling home-based businesses in light of the pandemic situation.”…
    …”71,231 have signed. Let’s get to 75,000!”

This papvid govt is very stoic-stoic in the year of the pandemic GE; respect, respect!

Excellent article by Osman but by adding another cryptic note by Kyle that “PAP can kiss the Malay vote goodbye” obviously today triggers this fear of losing Malay votes which in turn forces the opening up of home based food biz on 12 May, principally for sale on Ramadan: Hari Raya Puasa festivals!

Every year, I purchase my Hari Raya cookies from home based businesses (HBB). I’m looking forward to doing the same this year, when the community transmission situation improves, a condition mentioned by Minister Lawrence Wong for lifting the restrictions.
