The desperate PAP government

I ask if the pap government is so desperate or so heartless or so mad or all of the mentioned now?

We are now in the midst of the worse recession since our independence and we expect our economy to contract substantially this year, expect our unemployment numbers to climb further going forward and many people are experiencing pay cuts, underemployment and facing a real uncertain and scary future. Comcare and social welfare’s businesses, on the other hand, have never been better.

Hot on the heel of Medishield Life premiums increase announcement, electricity tariff has risen 9% and still, 6 ERP gantries along CTE will see price increases…What I don’t see is government’s leaders taking a lead to cut it’s own salaries to show true leadership and solidarity with the people in this very difficult period for growing numbers of our fellow citizens.

What I don’t see is the pap government clear and convincing explanations in appointing continuing very expensive Mayors that cost millions of the people’s hard-earned taxes when we have alearly elected our MPs to do what mayors are essentially doing. I ask if elected MPs are for show only?

Wasting tax payer money on redundant mayors. Why is the Accountant General keeping quiet? It’s his job to see that public money is not wasted isn’t it?

Or does he only know how to collect money and so please his paymaster?

For example, he insisted that Teachers pay for parking in school. Naturally his boss was delighted.

WE ELECT POLITICIANS to manage the economy, not as garbage workers keeping municipals clean.

If PAPpypolitics is genuine of national salvation, return all municipal functions now in the hands of elected MPs and very very very expensive Mayornaise (these decorative clowning positions need be deleted immediately) back to HDB for economies of scale if for no other reason/s.

We don’t want MPs to be elected to hogg the limelight “making love” to puppies, cats and pigeons (along with these two latter infestation of rats and mousey rats) in HDB or those who picks up still-warm bloodstained tampons thrown out of HDB blocks for public announcement/entertainment.

Our survival depends on economy, not political theatre sometimes better known as TTBL the acronym for theatrics, bluffs and lies.

  • Why should anyone even be surprised by this?

This “give chicken wing take whole chicken” wayang kulit has been repeated for decades and every time the 60%+ swallowed hook, bait, and sinker.

No wonder a certain dead wise man once said: Sinkies are so bloody daft!

Which is why I always tell fellow Sinkies, whenever the party says it wants to gib out free money, one should be very very very worried.

KUALA LUMPUR (REUTERS) – Malaysia Airlines will have to shut down if its lessors decide not to back its latest restructuring plan, the airlines’ group chief executive was quoted as saying on Saturday (Oct 10).

A group of leasing companies has rejected the airline’s restructuring plan, bringing the state carrier closer to a showdown over its future, Reuters reported on Friday.

Malaysia Airlines group chief executive officer Izham Ismail said the group would have “no choice but to shut it down” if lessors decide against backing the restructuring plan.

“There are creditors who have agreed already. There are others still resisting, and another group still 50:50,” Mr Izham said in an interview with The Edge weekly.

“I need to get the 50:50 ones (on board) with those who have agreed. I understand quite a sizeable amount of creditors have agreed.”

He said the plan was to restructure the airline’s balance sheet over five years, breaking even in 2023 on the assumption that demand in the domestic and South-east Asian markets returns to 2019 levels by the second and third quarters of 2022.

The plan will also require a fresh cash injection from shareholder, state fund Khazanah Nasional, to help the airline over the next 18 months.

Lessors claiming to represent 70 per cent of the airplanes and engines leased to the airline group have called the plan “inappropriate and fatally flawed” and pledged to challenge it, according to people familiar with the matter and a letter from a London law firm seen by Reuters.

Mr Izham said the lessors will need to decide by Oct 11, so that the airline can decide whether to proceed with its restructuring plan or “execute Plan B”.

In China, more than 3000 communist officials in Hubei province were being reprimanded and punished for the COVID-19 crisis. Also, did you fine any Chinese citizen being punished for not wearing mask or breaching the social distancing policy?

In Singapore, it’s the reverse, so far we have not seen any useless PAP civil servant being punished despite of having almost 70,000 cases, and we kept seeing individuals being punished for not wearing mask and breaching the COVID-19 laws.

    Ha ha ha!

  • Harder Truths:

This is how totalitarian regimes rule and finally end. They suck the life out of the people like a cancer. $G is experiencing the last stage before ‘full communism’ is made mandatory to control the population.

Like every other totalitarian regime in history, they will just collapse the economy and turn the island into an expensive fishing village with too many iconic buildings that will slowly rot away.

This who are below 50 will probably see this within their lifetime. And also have to pay the cost of voting in despots again and again.

  • PAP is crap:

PAP is on the death bed. The 4G team is lost. There has been to much damage already inflicted to the country which was build by our forefathers and LKY’s team of Founders.

It took only 2 PMs after the Founders, to bring a destruction to our country.
We are now run by a bunch of Ex-Generals who are incapable and has little or no respect from ordinary Singaporeans. Even if 61% supported the PAP, at least 10-15% were new citizens.

Technically, PAP is in ICU now and is going down the drain.

SINGAPORE – Hyundai electric cars made in Singapore will be for the local market initially, with export plans further down the road.

Referring to the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Jurong, a Hyundai spokesman said: “Products built at the innovation centre will first be offered to customers in Singapore. Hyundai Motor Group will review expansion plans to other markets at a later stage.”

Observers reckon that Hyundai’s upcoming plant, with an annual capacity of up to 30,000 cars, will have to export as the Singapore market is unlikely to be able to absorb all the vehicles it will produce….”Unquote .

Response :Aiyo, bring Hyundai electric car in to boost economy and jobs ? And the Hyundai electric car is not going to be cheap .Singaporeans better look for cheaper electric car like those electric car from China .Those China electric car should be cheaper .So don’t hurry to buy Hyundai electric car .China electric car may be lesser in quality but should work equally well .

In fact, it was reported in May this year that Singapore has emerged to be the largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) into India for the second consecutive financial year, accounting for about 30 per cent of FDI inflows into India in 2019-20. That is to say, about a third of foreign investments into India comes from Singapore.

In the last financial year, India attracted US$14.67 billion of investments from Singapore according to data from India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Certainly, if relationship between the 2 countries turns sour, Singapore’s billions of dollars poured into India all these years would likewise be threatened. Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing would certainly not want that to happen.

This is the most disturbing scenerio which our CPF MONIES were USED to invest in India, PRC.

This has cost us all JOBS gone to foreigners !!!
