Updates on in-house techie medical condition (13 Nov)

For those who may be interested, our techie will be admitted to the hospital for further medical checks and treatment, scheduled for the last week of November 2020. He is expected to be hospitalised for a week or more.

Our techie, Andrew went for his routine monthly medical checkup last week and the results have been anything but satisfactory.

Despite the medication prescribed, there appears to be no improvement in the clogged arteries and his brain tissues are continuing to fail and die, affecting mostly the region which controls memory. As a result, he is very forgetful and at times he can’t even remember if he has taken his medication or breakfast for the day.

Additionally, he is also experiencing on an almost daily basis, unexplained headaches and dizzy spells. As such, his attending doctors have advised that he should be warded for further medical checks.

As his condition stands currently, there is no possibility of any surgery as a form of treatment as his family simply cannot afford the high medical costs involved. Although TRE did try to raise approximately RMB 200,000 for his possible operations, we regretfully did only managed to raise slightly more than half of the amount needed.

Given his current medical condition, it is very possible that he may not be able to remember to support Ms. Nicole Seah of the Workers Party or he may not even be around when the next General Elections is called (tic).

On a serious note, Andrew has expressed that both his wife and he are very appreciative and greatful to all who have donated and contributed one way or another.

He is currently taking things slow and easy, waking up daily thanking God for the borrowed time.

Andrew’s Medical Fund

On a related note, TRE understands that Andrew’s medical costs are approximately RMB 2,000 a month (excluding medical checks) and surgery to insert stents may cost RMB 100,000 onwards and probably double or triple if it is done in big cities like Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen.

We are currently hoping that we can help to raise funds for Andrew’s medical costs and possible surgery. So, if you would like to help and contribute to his medical fund, the options are below.

The [email protected] would like to thank all for your continued support.

How To Donate

1. WeChat: Scanning the QR code below (right) will make payment directly into Andrew’s wife, Ivy’s WeChat account in RMB (most effective and instant).

2. PayPal: Please use the PayPal form below (left). All payments will be credited directly into his wife, Ivy’s Paypal account in USD. No existing Paypal account is required for Credit or Debit card payments.

3. POSB Everyday Savings Account: Ten Leu Jiun Jeanne-Marie 193-69702-0.
Ms Ten has helped Andrew with the collection of donations in the past for his wife’s sickness and has offered her POSB account again this time around. All proceeds will be remitted to his wife by the end of the month.

    Poor Andrew.
My great leader PM Lee is right to call Singaporeans free riders.

Opposition supporters are free riders aka cheapskates who did not even want to donate to help Andrew medical funds. Poor Andrew.
    http://www.tremeritus.net/2020/09/05/updates-on-in-house-techie-medical-condition-5-sep/

2 great examples prove my great leader PM Lee is right.

    Example 1:
Singaporeans knows the need to have opposition.
But, but they prefer it to be in other people ward. Not In My Back Yard attitude.
Singaporeans don’t want to take responsibility. I met many of these Singaporeans in workplace.

    Example 2:
Singaporeans knows the need to have opposition.
But, but they prefer other people do the job for them. (let other people donate money and time and sweat)
Singaporeans don’t want to take responsibility.
Singaporeans just want to sit on their fat ass, do nothing and enjoy the credit and fruits of other people hard work.

If you hired Singaporeans, it is your misfortune.

It is better to fired/sacked Singaporeans First and hired foreigners.

Just look at how Singaporeans leeching off the weak Andrew and the aged Tan Cheng Bock… hahahaha…

“Given his current medical condition, it is very possible that he may not be able to remember to support Ms. Nicole Seah of the Workers Party or he may not even be around when the next General Elections is called (tic).”

Hello, what has that got to do with WP or Nicole Seah? He supported WP or only Nicole Seah? When Nicole was in NSP he was also singing praises of her, you call that “support WP”? Did he not proudly proclaim that it was TRE that caused former WP MP Yaw Shin Leong’s downfall? When the High Court pronounced WP’s Sylvia, Pritam and LTK guilty of “failing in their fiduciary duties to Aljunied residents, TRE blamed WP for “digging its own graves” allowing the PAP to fix them. Support WP? Support My Ass!

Nobody is stopping you from trying to raise funds but please don’t involve any opposition parties!

Anyway, WP and Nicole don’t need his support also!

Tech: Just to clarify, me supporting Nicole of WP is NOT the same as supporting WP. If she moves to SDP, I will still support Nicole of SDP, because I believe that she is a sincere lady who really means what she says. For the record, it has been and always will be my principal that I do not support ANY political party, period. I only look at the individual and the policies that are in place, not which party implemented it.

“Tech: Just to clarify, me supporting Nicole of WP is NOT the same as supporting WP.”

You go and check the posting:To Workers Party & All Its Supporters.

I exposed your hypocrisy of congratulating WP after always attacking them by capitalising on the AHTC high court ruling against them. In one of your replies, you said you supported Nicole Seah, does that not mean that you also support WP? The comments have now been removed but I believe you have the records. I challenge you to show all the comments of the article again without removing any of them.

Tech: I have made myself very clear and I stand by everything I have posted. As far as I am concerned, I did not remove any of my own comments, so feel free to search and post the comment that I said I supported WP.

I shall say again for the very last time:

I do not support ANY political party and have NEVER voted for ANY political party. Never have, never will.

I did congratulated WP on their win of a GRC which is not the same as supporting WP. I may not like you, but if today is your birthday I would still wish you a happy birthday, but that should not be taken to mean that I like you.

Say if I bumped into Santa Heng in Orchard Road, I would still wish him well on his stroke, but that should not be taken to mean that I support PAP. He may be with the PAP, but to me it doesn’t matter because I see him as who he is, not which party he is from.

Very simply logic, you can understand good, if cannot also nevermind cause you win or I win in the end also no money take. I have made my stand very clear, so please don’t argue with me just for the sake of arguing.

THe whole article and the comments section have disappeared from the forum. How to search? Why don’t you put back everything and I search for that part “I also voice support for Nicole Seah. Does that not mean that I also support WP?”.

Anyway, the purpose of my comment is to tell you, your support for Nicole Seah has got nothing to do with your own well-being. Don’t say ” it is very possible that he may not be able to remember to support Ms. Nicole Seah of the Workers Party “. Trying to win sympathy from Nicole Seah supporters?

    That’s absolutely laughable.

Tech: Articles are not deleted, merely archived, and made available only to paid members for those articles that are 3 months old. • William Chin:

I read Andrew has a job and family in China. His conditions appear to be quite serious.

Why not come back to Singapore to seek treatment? I am sure he has some amount in his Medisave account. There is also Medishield or Incomeshield to offset the bill after paying the minimum deductibles.

I have taken the Polyclinic route to get subsidization. I am on CHAS card too.

I have worked in China for 15 years. Foreigners most likely do not have the social insurance in China. Thought the medical course in China is considered relative cheaper than Singapore, this is true for 1 time treatment. For complex and prolong treatment it is better to have it done in Singapore.

It is advisable to travel back when one can still walk on his own.

Work to live or Live to work? Job is secondary. One can always find a new job (not easy) when health condition is better.

Anyway, my advise is to buy travel insurance whenever one travel oversea for business or work. Me and my friends are doing this to ensure we have sufficient coverage.

  • @William

After almost more than a decade of CONpulsary deductions for this insurance and that insurance from my Medisave, the balance in it currently stands at a BIG, FAT ZERO (maybe even NEGATIVE). I did write to CPF and request that thet deposit the $600 which Santa Heng gave into my Medisave account but they say cannot and wants me to collect the cheques in person or the money will be returned to the gahment 6 months later. I where got so siao spend more than RMB 10,000 to return and collect SG$600, dio bo? Anyway, if I return to Sinkieland, I have nothing there and I would have no one to take care of me or a place to stay, so still have to waste more money.

As for medication and possible surgery, I have made a comparison and those in China are much cheaper than in Sinkieland. Some more, Sinkieland has C19, China where I am has no C19, so safer to remain in China for treatment for I won’t survive the C19 if I should kenna, given my current medical condition.

Besides, if I seek treatment in Sinkieland, costs aside, I high possibility would still be treated by doctors from maybe India, Pakistan, Vietnam or even China and some may even have their degrees from Taobao or Amazon. Also, my wife has to take care of me 24/7 due to my dizzy spells (I have literally walked into a wall one too many times and have also sprained my ankle and dislocated my finger), so sibei jialut condition and better to stay put.

As for insurance, the only coverage I have is all accidental, so unless I get into an accident or the plane fall from the sky, it does not cover my medical bills or pay anything. Last month however, I did manage to claim RMB 1500 after a dizzy spell caused me to fall in a shopping centre and dislocated one of the fingers on my right hand. During that incident, I felt dizzy and my right leg weakened and gave way.

So at least with my existing insurance, I can still get coverage on “accidents”. Ironic, isn’t it?

Anyway, once you get a stroke, it is there forever and it cannot be completely treated, just controlled through a prolonged treatment process which may take years till I meet my maker. So better to do so in China, where I have a family where there are people who can take care of me. My wife is also sick and that way, we can take care of each other. Also where I am, the hospital is only less than a kilometre away, just 10 minute drive, so safer if happen anything.

Thank you for your suggestion though, but unfortunately, it is not workable for me. I would either go bankrupt or die quicker if I were to seek treatment in Sinkieland.

I heard testimonial from some qigong trainees that practicing Qigong can help control the stroke and after that, need not rely on medication. You want to inquire and try?

Tech: I don’t think I can even if it is effective. I squat down stand up get dizzy, I look up also get dizzy, turn in bed too fast when I am asleep also dizzy, look right or left too fast also get dizzy. Play computer eyes move left move right too far also get dizzy. No dizzy is when I everything also don’t do and just sit there and look straight, how to try?

I initially thought it was some ear infection because ear control balances but went hospital check check a few times also say not the ear problem. Then it got worst till doctor say better get warded for through checkup this month, might be another part of brain affected liao. Maybe if can find cure for the dizziness I can consider Qigong later on. Thank you.

  • @Zhenzidian

Years ago got deduct and deduct and deduct for Medishield until 2018 no money to deduct liao, so since no money to deduct, that means no coverage rite, I assume?

Anyway, even if can deduct, I do the math liao also more expensive than where I am. Poly register SG$10++ have to Q long long, here hospital only RMB 3.00 nia (no GST) and no need long Q, can just hop into my specialist’s office (she deputy head of department (神经内科副主任)). My medication is RMB2000 a month here, which works to be about SG$400 cannot buy the same medication in Sinkieland, even can more expensive.

Some more here I can go checkup every month and anytime I want can also go the hospital if situation jialut, not crowded at all. I got a former ISD offcer friend in Sinkieland says his cancer appointment if not because he knows someone high up in the system, appointment date also take many many months. For me, a stroke patient with 3rd degree HBP, many many months mean sure die one cause blood vessel anytime can rupture one. Die I lucky, no die I also paralyse like my wife’s aunt, ownself cannot walk cannot talk cannot remember who issit who (she got blood vessel in the head burst because of HBP 3rd degree).

Also, I got no nothing in Sinkieland, stay hospital forever not logical rite? In the end, I will end up paying many times more if I were to be treated where I am now. Here I rent an apartment (2 room 1 hall) near to hospital only RMB 6000 per year, some more parking is free, in Sinkieland where got so cheap one?

Some more where I am, if really sibei jialut, last option I can always borrow a bit of money from Jack Ma (Ant give me 20k credit limit) for upfront payment, say if me or my wife needs to be warded, in Sinkieland I borrow from who? Temasick or GIC? CPF? Besides, should I die in hospital during treatment, Jack ma say liao I no need to pay him back one, how nice.

I so jialut now, sure think plan to get best treatment lar, where got simply give up one, but I do the math liao. Best option is for me to stay put and continue treatment with minimal costs, chances of seeing next GE higher.

I got no S$8 medical concession like a certain cow and also no money, bo bian lor. Make do with what I have is all I can do. Now everything I do, must calculate zoon zoon, cannot anyhow spend so I can leave enough for my wife to survive after I am gone.

    Thank you for your concern.

    @Tre Tech

6000rmb per year? Meaning S$100 per month? So cheap? Which city are you residing in?

Tech: Walao eh to me expensive liao loe, anyway dio dio its RMB 500 a month lor, I rented a 2-room (70平方米) unit (got big balcony joining 2 bedrooms) in the hospital’s 家属院 in Xiangfan (very big city) in Hubei province. Here very safe one, literally surrounded by medical doctors and nurses 365/24/7.

If want cheaper, even in GuangZhou RMB 300 a month also can get, you just need to know where to look.

    @Tech

That’s why I’m planning my exit also. I’ve been to China many times and am already used to the life and food there. Eight years in Beijing, my friend charged me 1,600rmb for rental of one bedroom.

Everytime after spending one month there, I come back and cannot get used to the food here already. Based on what you said, I can live like a king there already, I mean the smaller cities. But I am still mobile, so will try to save more, even though I am comfortable in Singapore. But here too small, too boring. My flat fully paid and I can actually rent it out. Even as cheap as $1,200 per month, it means I can have 6,000rmb per month there, on top of my savings and I already have medical insurance. But for now, make as much as possible first.

Tech: Aiyoh, that price for a BJ room is quite allright liao lor. Sinkieland is too small and if you take into consideration the C19 which it will be stucked in for years, better go to China, find a wife, get married so you can get their Q1 pass and live permanently there till meet the maker, all C19 free. Businesses have returned to normal in all major cities, if you are old like me abt 60, better not risk the C19 cause we may not recover when kenna.

The city where I am in is not some ulu ulu city, got huge Wanda, huge Carrefour, got Minfa, got plenty of KTVs and meis meis of course with oral skills tokong tokong one, etc etc etc and 3 hours to Wuhan or Hunan and Wudang is only 2 hours away, Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen is 12 hours drive, very movable one. Maybe when you come to China, can meet up for chat chat and you can teach me how to write poems, if I am still mobile and can remember you by then. lol

As for living, if you have RMB 6000 a month and got no loans to service, you can live very comfortably where I am still got plenty of balance to spare. A retired former ISD officer is only 1 km away from me and he bought 2 apartments (abt RMB 700k all in, i.e. S$150k) with his pension and also dabao a young “er nai” now enjoying his retirement with his newborn son, song right?

The best thing here is the police don’t anyhow take your laptops, mobile or PC one just because you wrote an article say the mayor is an idiot. If you do write something like that, the mayor might even invite you for a dinner and ask you why you think he is an idiot. lol

As a foreigner, they give some leeways and as long as no big crime like murder or drugs or political stuff, everything can be explained and settled, most likely end up with a warning nia.

But then it is always a good thing to stay clear of breaking laws because we are, after all only guests in a country thats millions of times bigger than Sinkieland.

On 2nd thought, if I were you and have intended to make a move to China to retire for good comfortably, I would sell my local HDB and buy an apartment in China, which would allow me ample cash to even buy a good car and retire. Just a thought.

Note: S$1 million is RMB5 million in China, disregard cities like BJ, TJ, SH, SZ and GZ, you could buy 5 huge apartments in a good estate, fully paid for.

Or maybe 1 huge apartment, a BMW 3 series and have more than RMB 3 million pocket change to dabao an “er nai with tokong oral skills and enjoy life.

  • Zhenzidan:

Are foreigners allowed to purchase an apartment there at the same price as locals?

Tech: As far as I know, there are no restrictions or extra levy and charges on foreigners owning residential or commercial properties. I called a housing agent I know (before replying to you) and she also said there are no special restrictions on foreigners buying residential properties, whatever applies to locals applies to us. For example, 30% down payment for locals on 1st property and 50% for 2nd both applies to locals and us. However, the various banks may have their own policy for housing loans for foreigners (none that I have heard of so far though), have to check with them on this just to be sure.

Since you visit China often, pick a city you like and go recce the prices, there are all comparitively cheaper than those pigeon holes in Sinkieland.

Hahahaha.. the whole wide world knows Singaporeans don’t want to take responsibility.

    Singaporeans cannot make it.

So what if I am free riding on Andrew’s TRE to post my nonsense? So what if I don’t donate to him? Andrew still talk to me like a friend, what can you do?

So what if I am enjoying the fruits of the labour of the older generation? I am already financially stable enough to retire but your stupid master still keep giving me money to screw young meimei. Blame your own master for being stupid. Because your stupid master still the government, I will continue to free ride until they got no money to give me. What can you do? Whining and sneering and watch helplessly as I continue to screw meimei using your Master money. Hahahaha….

And for your information, I no need to go to batam to look for meimei like what you all PAP ass-kisser have been accusing us for. Your stupid master supplied me with all these young pussies from overseas. Meaning not only your master give me money. They also supply me with foreign pussies. Shiok Man…..

And because your master is a stupid government allowing me to free ride on them, they must be voted out fast, otherwise there will be more free riders joining me.
