A sensible approach towards containing the virus

I observed that we are probably carrying out about 5,000 to 10,000 tests every day and that there was hardly any cases of covid infection detected. I said that it is safe to conclude that the virus is no longer a problem and the circuit breaker can be lifted.

Someone disagreed with me. He said that we should test everybody (as it was done in China) to be sure that the virus has been completely eradicated.

I find his approach to be illogical and extreme.

Here are my reasons.

1. If the virus is spreading in the community, we should be able to detect several cases every day.
2. These cases are mild, but they can be detected with testing.
3. A few of these mild cases can become serious and require treatment in hospital. These cases will be detected with temperature screening.

If the cases that are detected remains a small handful each day, and hardly any become serious to need hospital care, we can conclude that the risk is very small.

There is no need to continue the extreme measures, such as mandatory wearing of mask or other restrictions on social activities.

Testing everybody is too costly & time consuming & wasting human resources.

Temperature taking is no use to detect asymptomatics!

Tracing contacts is critical in controlling the virus spread in the community as those who are in close contact with Covid-19 positive cases can be quarantined timely!

Living through a pandemic would make one to become an expert in pandemic control?

It is just as good as saying someone has become an expert in cancer treatment because he has gone through a chemotherapy treatment to get rid of his malignant brain tumor?

The paranoid can lock themselves at home. Those too particular with seating arrangements and bother genuine diners like the Midpoint orchard food court can don’t do business.

However, those who want to work and go about doing normal things should just wear masks.

The only sensible thing would be for TKL to shaft all his silly ideas to himself. Frankly I find him to be annoyance nowadays.

1 dead and 1 store holder upon check found to be infected. No check don’t know. So how many in the Population already infected? What happen to these asymptomatic cases when they get old or immune system weaken. TKL surely don’t know but he will risk other peoples’ lives making really stupid suggestion and trying to be somebody he is not.

Covit-19 death is a horrible way to die, unable to breath leading to heart attack.

TKL should spin 400m then immediately wear 2 layers of N95 mask to get the idea of how horrible and desperate it is to die.

Only devil will invite and say don’t worry don’t worry.

Uncle Tan despite having life experience (or lack thereof) doesn’t quite see the big picture. PAP was slammed real hard when they were slow to impose a lockdown and the cases were rising daily. They were also slammed for taking it easy as well as doing u turns.

Who doesn’t remember them saying not to wear a mask if you aren’t sick to mandatory mask wearing if you are going out? Who doesn’t remember Ong stupid Kung saying children aren’t a vector for the disease so no need to close schools only for his goondu boss to announce that Dorscon Red will be starting and schools closed?

So now we have very few community cases so according to uncle theory Tan the circuit breaker should be lifted. Never heard of playing it sage is it uncle Tan? We don’t like wearing masks nor doing safe entry at every shop we go in but we can understand the need to so we put up with the inconvenience.

Have you noticed no one but uncle Tan asking for things to be back to normal? Why hasn’t WP or any other opposition party asked for this too?

Tells you a whole lot about uncle Tan doesn’t it?

Cancerman and Mr Magoo have no idea what they are doing. Try this, try that try something else. Don’t wear mask. Wear mask. Lock up everybody. No need to do anything in MRT because suddenly no virus. But everywhere else lots of virus. Nobody has virus but wait! – virus is just around the corner – it will get you. Trace everybody. Fine anybody. Stay at home and work only. Unless you got f**king voucher to go out. If you are fired from your job there is a long line of people at CC – please join.

Tell me who wants to live like this for how long? Nothing to do with virus. it is idiots trying to show you who is boss.

    This Covid 19 shows the stupidity of our taskforce;

Stupidity one; why temperature taking where the infection is asymptomatic? Not only one needs temperature screening when entering the mall, shoppers have to take temperature when he/she enters a retailer. So he/she shop hopping, he/she needs to take temperature several times!!

Also because of temperature screening, malls have installed maze of barricades, blocking several entrances/exits, making shoppers negotiating the maze of barricade. This causes inconvenience, resulting loss of potential shoppers.

Stupidity two; Trace Together is supposed to reduce the inconvenience of Safe entry but now Trace Together is the same, still need scanning of the QR code. Now what happens to the million of tokens when Covid is under control? Add to the landfill?

Response : I like that idea to stop mandatory wearing mask. For those who has bought many boxes of mask can still wear if they want to .Don’t wear also can .That should be best .Up to individual to decide to continue wearing mask or not .No mandatory mask. To wear mask for a whole day outside is indeed a torture especially for people with breathing problem. However the evil women wing making huge profits from selling masks will not agree .Pui !

I think so long as there is no viable vaccine available to everyone, the risks of being “terrorised” by virus is a high possibility.

You can’t trust “foreigners”, can you?ah, but you are dependent on foreigners for your wealth.

You will justify their presence, at all costs even the death/poverty of your citizens.

Reported on Straits Times :Quote -”SINGAPORE – From Tuesday (Dec 1), anyone who needs a Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test will be able to get one from approved private clinics.

Those seeking tests could include companies and people requiring pre-departure testing before travel. The latter group will no longer be required to seek approval from the Ministry of Health for such a test.

Before this, members of the public who were not unwell and did not need to meet specific testing requirements, such as pre-departure and pre-event testing, could not request to get tested for the coronavirus.

Health Minister Gan Kim Yong had earlier said on Nov 10 that the expanded testing availability is part of efforts to support a larger range of needs as Singapore resumes more economic and community activities.

At the same virtual press conference, Education Minister Lawrence Wong said that the higher number of activities in phase three of the country’s reopening is likely to lead to an increase in the number of community cases.

“We have to be mentally prepared for that and be ready to ensure that even if the local cases in the community were to rise, they do not form large clusters that are out of control. The key to doing that is to step up our testing capabilities, which we are doing and now we are making testing more accessible to everyone,” said Mr Wong, the co-chair of the multi-ministry task force tackling Covid-19 along with Mr Gan.

The list of approved testing partners can be found here.

Those who request tests at these providers under the new arrangements will have to call the clinic ahead of time to book an appointment for their swab.

They will also have to pay for the tests, which will not be subsidised.

Mr Gan said: “We hope that through making available testing capacity from the private sector, there will be competition and there’ll be more supplies available. And by doing so, we will ensure that the price they offer will be competitive, and that (it) will reflect the true cost of the test.”

Doctors told The Straits Times they would be charging rates of about $200, including GST, for the test.

Dr Dale Lim, family physician at The Tenteram Clinic in Toa Payoh, said that he is not expecting an increase in demand for the tests until more people need to travel.

Dr Lim’s clinic has conducted about 30 swabs each week under the Swab and Send Home programme (Sash). The Sash programme was implemented at around April this year, allowing patients who met certain criteria to be swabbed at polyclinics and some private clinics. Previously, all swab tests for Covid-19 were done at hospitals….”Unquote .

Response :This must be sensible approach toward containing the virus charging easily $200 per covid 19 test feeding the evil backside huge salary of those evil women doctors ?
