New hangout for maids

How about we ask Singaporeans not to “overcrowd” at these spots instead?

Goodness. The underlying xenophobia of this “pilot” programme is horrendous.

“Mr Shamsul Kamar, the executive director of CDE, said that the site was set up due to the need to decentralise large groups of maids from popular hangout spots such as Lucky Plaza and Peninsula Plaza due to Covid-19.”

Isn’t he the PAP loser in Aljunied GRC?

  • SINGAPOREANS FIRST. ALWAYS:

Straits Times: Business groups concerned over rule change for dependent’s pass holders

“Several business chambers are concerned about the message being sent by the new requirement for dependent’s pass holders to obtain a formal work pass in order to work in Singapore.

They said many such foreigners have skills and experience that can contribute to the economy here, and the more restrictive rule may make it more difficult for companies to relocate their staff or senior executives with families.”

It is clear the business chambers are controlled by employers. They want to continue to hire foreigners (instead of Singaporeans) because they are significantly cheaper (up to 17%) because foreigners are exempted from CPF.

PM LHL gave tens of thousands of Singaporean jobs to foreigners by giving them an employment pass. Allowing their dependents to also work makes it even worse for Singaporeans.

Foreigners working in Singapore do NOT really add value/contribute to the economy if employing them it results of loss of jobs for Singaporeans and/or if it depresses local wages. This is something stupid LHL does not seem to understand. Singaporeans, the only real asset of the country, ARE Singapore. The problem with LHL is he believed his father’s self-serving bullshit.

EXCEPT FOR SINGAPORE, all countries give priority to their citizens for jobs. So in Singapore it should be SINGAPOREANS FIRST. ALWAYS. But in Singapore the pro-alien PAP made it the other way around. Foreigners are preferred by employers because they are cheaper to employ. PAP made Singaporeans 2nd class citizens in their own country. Thousands of PMETS have lost (and continuing to lose) their job to foreigners. LHL (and PAP) betrayed Singaporeans big-time.

    Reported on the TISG:Quote -”..
    Anna Maria Romero..
    March 10, 2021…

Singapore—Mr Jimmy Chan’s domestic helper had only been in Singapore for a few weeks when she fell gravely ill and had to be in the intensive care unit in a hospital. She was eventually flown home via medical evacuation.
Now the Chan family is left with a staggering S$180,000 bill for the treatment and repatriation of Ms Julie Ann Ubaldo Lucero, who came from the Philippines.

MR CHAN AND HIS WIFE ARE REGULAR SALARIED WORKERS, ACCORDING TO LIANHE ZAOBAO, AND HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS, AGES 14 AND 18.
THEREFORE, FOR THEM,  MS LUCERNO’S MEDICAL BILL “IS NOT A SMALL SUM.”

The family has started crowdfunding for support, starting a page entitled “Help Julie Ann Ubaldo Lucero to Recover… due to Severe Blood Poisoning,” on the give.asia platform.
So far, S$84,092 has been raised. The goal is to raise S$140,000..

She had started working for the Chan family on Jan 15 this year, after serving her 14-day Stay-Home notice. ….
Over the next two weeks, her health worsened…..

‘She was admitted to the hospital on 7 Feb 2021. The hospital did extensive blood tests, other tests and various scans to try to identify the cause of her sickness. She was admitted to ICU as her kidneys were failing and required constant dialysis, her lungs were failing and required ventilation, her liver was failing and her blood pressure was dangerously low.”..

“Her ICU doctor informed us to be prepared for the worst as she might passed away on 8 Feb 2021 evening,” the Chans said.
But Ms Lucerno pulled through and was given blood transfusions to get her organs to function again.
Her “blood test results came back that she was diagnosed with severe blood poisoning caused by Salmonella bacteria, resulted in severe stomach infection and severe lung infection and pneumonia,” the Chans added.
By Feb 15, her hospital bill was  S$65,923.65 due to her stay at the ICU as well as the blood transfusions.
Unfortunately, Ms Lucerno was ineligible for subsidy as she is a foreign worker. Her insurance would pay up to S$30,000 of hospitalisation, as well as S$10,000 for her repatriation.
But her repatriation was estimated to cost US$50,000 (approx S$67,400), as she needed a medical team and medical equipment due to her precarious state of health..”Unquote .

Response : From 7th to 15th Feb 2021=9 days stay at ICU =S$65,923.65.So per day at ICU = $7324.85 !
