The resurgence of 2nd waves of Covid 19

The writing is on the wall.

With the resurgence of 2nd waves of C19 ravaging across many countries, the mutated and the double mutation of the virus, the almost daily importation of C19 cases into Singapore and the increasing mutated variants and C19 clusters in our community, we are not far from another CB than most people realise and if we ever have to go into another CB, there is no question that the government must rightfully shoulder the biggest blame.

Singapore cannot do much about ravaging 2nd C19 waves in many other countries and Singapore also cannot do much about the virus mutating but that doesn’t mean domestically, we cannot do more with more seriousness and urgency to control and contain the spread.

Repeated calls were made by many, many citizens to the pap government to ban flights from India weeks ago but unlike the NZ and the Hongkong governments, the pap government was reluctant to move and slow to act.

Also, it is very easy to spot members of the public especially seniors blatantly going through the motion of putting on their mask but not covering their nose and nothing ever happen to them etc. There is super lax or almost non-existence enforcements against such people despite their visibility and presence of police cameras.

Worse still, it is so easy to spot them congregating in small groups chit-chatting and passing time at places such as Chin Swee, Bukit Merah or Chinatown etc.

Singapore has done well compare to many countries in controlling and containing C19 spread thus far but with more community spreads, mutated and much more infectious variants and clusters appearing, situations can turn very bad very quickly. Never forget that past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Fellow citizens and the pap government. You have been warned. Think.

  • Harder Truths:

Sooner or later there will be a virus mutation that cannot be stopped. Doesn’t matter where it comes from.

In this small, overly dense island full of obedient Guinea Pigs and a money-making regime there will be no escape.

Karma is a b*t*h. We have been warned. Too bad it won’t help.

  • I must say I am not surprised that Sinkieland is now seeing a more stronger and deadly strain of the virus hitting the streets. All along, the half-baked measures that were/are implemented were/are ineffective, compared to those in China.

Sinkies were lucky during the 1st wave that the initial strain was toothless and did not bite as hard as the now more deadly and contagious strain. Experts have opined that the initial baby strain is afraid of heat (according to experts), but these new variants are not (afraid of heat) and are now coming out to bite, evident from the massaged figures released by MOH on the daily community cases.

The various latest new strains are reportedly more contagious and deadlier than the initial toothless baby strain and Sinkies better pray very and sibei hard, that it will not develop into a full-blown pandemic the scale of Wuhan for the Sinikie gahment is arrogant, inexperienced, and ill-equipped to deal with a pandemic of that magnitude.

IMHO, Sinkieland will not survive a full-blown pandemic the scale of Wuhan.

  • Be Ready For 2nd Wave:

What is it now? Code Orange or Code Red or Code Orange-Red? More Orange or more Red? Should people expect CB2-Phase 1 and start to stock up before another round of panic buying at the supermarkets? It sounds quite serious with temporary closures of hospital wards, shopping malls, supermarket, church, mosque, etc. for cleaning, and placement of staff on quarantine or leave of absence. Are these cases new variants that have been imported into the country?

  • Partial truth?:

@ Also, it is very easy to spot members of the public especially seniors blatantly going through the motion of putting on their mask but not covering their nose and nothing ever happen to them etc.

That being said. I notice people doing sports or taking a run dont require mask on. Including cycling with bikes individually or in a group also dont require mask on.

Thats the weird part. Some family one example i observed a mother and her 2 daughters cycling in a relax mood in the evening around 6 + pm. Obviously not strenuous at all. Yet need no mask on ( consider as exercise )
Whereas food panda or grab food delivery people using manual bicycles have to wear mask.
In reality, they are more stress and hectic as they are on a time schedule. Very rush as they ride damn fast. Their exercise rate are much higher.

Personally i feel masks should be waive for them while they are on the road riding. Perhaps 10 metres or 5 metres before they reached designated location ( HDB block or condo or a office building ) then they mask on.

We have no report of any infection from our public transport system! So just follow their system. Don’t ask me how but it works, right?

Maybe Covid19 afraid of taking MRT, too noisy from the frequent, non-stop, public announcements. Haha!

  • Sg slow to react:

Only recently Sg ban flights from India. Many other countries already did it include HK. Singapore always wait and see how others did it, has no clue on her own. China already banned India flights end of March.

If the mutants spread like fire, we are back to CB and it could be worst than last year.

Heavy price to pay for signing CECA.

PEOPLE MOSTLY UNDERESTIMATE THE MUTATED VARIANTS are far more transmissible and dangerous of consequences than the original foundation virus.

Reuters :Thailand is fighting a fierce third wave of infections, the worst of the pandemic after a year of relative success in controlling the virus.

The new outbreak includes the highly transmissible B.1.1.7 variant and has accounted for about half of its total cases and deaths during the pandemic

    https://sg.news.yahoo.com/thailand-reports-daily-record-21-022751759.html

And in Singapore, infection spreads into hospital and re-infection erupted among previously-vaccinated dorm living foreign workers.

MASKING AND SOCIAL DISTANCE might be the “better” protection than mass vaccination – the consequences forward is the biggest risks unknown.

The people blame the G. He blames the G. The G blames the people because they it’s the easiest and most convenient thing to do he also thinks like the PAP government. So who is the real culprit? All this pathetic guy does is to pick a few isolated cases of people behaving badly to support what he claimed. Well, it could be the truth or imagined. Nobody knows. The fact is Singaporeans are the most compliant people in ordinary times, what more in a pandemic crisis. Be thank Singaporeans are by and large unlike those in India, the US or those countries in the EU Western democracies. Won’t waste time here to elaborate. The thing here is if Simon Lim thinks that Singaporeans are not good enough for him, he can go and fiack himself.

We are just waiting to see if the TTSH cases end up spreading throughout the country or not nia. The version of the TTSH virus isn’t known so it could be the double mutation one that infects people more easily.

And now we have out 31st death. Condolences to the family.

A & E at SKGH and SGH are seeing a surge of visitors. Are they Covid 19-related? Or is it simply because the population has grown so large that hospitals are over-stretched and overwhelmed? Those who suspect they have Covid-19 symptoms should not waste time waiting in long lines at the A&E but go straightaway to be tested by a doctor and be quarantined if necessary. Otherwise they might transmit the virus to the medical team, care-givers and those in critically condition at the A & E.

“Don’t make the mistake which other countries have done – celebrate too early, relax too fast, let your guard down (and) cause another wave to come. Very often worse than the first and more nasty drastic measures become necessary.”

What does that means when the PM said this on May Day?

So who is making the mistake? Whom was he telling to?

Who is “let your guard down” by importing virus of all variants?

Minister and an ex-NMP encouraged Indian to come in by a third countries, are they causing another wave to come?

  • Be Ready for 2nd Wave:

It’s impossible to do “social distancing” in SG. All you need is to walk into a busy mall, food court, bus interchange or MRT station and look at the crowd. During peak hours, there is only enough standing room in trains and buses, and passengers breathe in the air that is circulated around even with masks on. One breathes out and another breathes in! They hold on to the handrails going up and down escalators and in trains and buses. and pass the germs around. They remove their masks and sit within 6 feet of the next table in crowded, restaurants, food courts or hawker centres. If the virus can spread in a sanitized place like the hospital where staff, nurses and doctors wear masks the whole time, what more in public places.

  • Be Ready For 2nd Wave:

There is still no light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like the virus is actively spreading in other parts of the world. India is not the only hotspot. Turkey, Iran, Brazil. How about countries nearer to SG like Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines which are not widely reported in local media? Will there be other mutations to come?
