Creating or re-writing history?

A confused reader forwarded this snapshot to us with questions which none of us on TR Emeritus could answer.

Apparently, under the supposed new leadership of Mr Lawrence Wong, his talented team in Parliament is busy re-writing or creating history as a hobby.

As far as we know, “Singapore” (emphasis) is only 57-year-old, so where did these experts pluck the 700 years from?

If we were to stretch our imagination a little, we can go back to the year 1819 when Sir Stamford Raffles discovered “Singapore”, that is at most 200 years.

So these experts have now decided to stretch it longer and further back to 700 years ago when the island was part of the Malay archipelago inhabited by the native Malays?

And since we are already so far back in time, why not stretch another billion years to when planet Earth was born, starting from the Big Bang?

What do you think?

    If you choose
1965 – you are a nationalist (unwanted here, every foreigner is a Singaporean, go suck thumb)
    1942 – you love sushi
1819 – you are an ang moh pai (history begins with the arrival of a big white man)
arrival of admiral Cheng – you are a real Chinese
Indo empire – you are a native
arrival from Africa – a human origin expert

Make your choice. Every year is a good year. :-)

  • First we have the bull of a shit Bicentenniel that counts Sir Stamford raffles so they can make some quick bucks from the sale of a $20 note.

Now what are they trying to sell, that a family surname Wong from China actually swam to the island and lived and ruled the island before Raffles 700 years ago?

    ROTFL

Caveat: I have not read that book and have no intention of wasting my money to buy it.

Maybe PAP found a Maya calendar in the Istana, which shows Singapore is 700 years old. But wait when was the Istana built?

I believe Singapore is older than the dinosaurs!

I let you in on a secret, you don’t tell anybody else hor. The Istana was actually built by the Mayans a few thousand years ago, it was discovered by the God of No Mercy when the Japs took “Singapore” and he retrofitted it after “Singapore” Independence Day. The God of No Mercy was actually a Mayan and was born in Atlantis.

    Now then you know. lol

Lets climb up BT Timah. We might discover the Inca Empire.
If we bring excavators to work up there we may be able to scoop pre historic artefacts.
    But wait.
Is the PAP going to claim these artefacts as PAP PROPERTY (don’t be surprise PAP claim they existed many moons earlier even before SS Raffles arrived by his sampan at SG River).

I honestly won’t be surprised that this party can chut a lot of patterns.

They came up with this Bicentennial $20 note shit, claiming 200 years, which implies and effectively makes Sir Stamford Raffles a Singaporean and a member of the party, no? So it was Sir Stamford Raffles that named “Singapore” as “Singapore”?

BTW, this Bicentennial $20 thingy heard now selling online for almost S$1000 a piece, wow! (CNA reported it)

And I happen to have 3 of them in a series, anyone want? lol

P/S: Their obsession with making the party own “Singapore” is really fascinating.

    @TRE Jun 10 7.42 pm

When Loong mentioned that he NEEDED to FIX OPPOSITION (and waste his time which should be used to ENHANCE OWN POWER and continue to launder AND MANIPULATE the 60 per cent) if there are too MANY OF them to represent 40 per cent of Singaporean’s voices – THIS IS UTTER CLEAR EVIDENCE of what HE AND PAP strategize TO HOLD SG TO PAP ransom.

There SHOULDN’T BE slightest of slight DOUBT what the existence of PAP Is for.

This statement IS NOT A SLIP of Loong’s tongue per se. This statement IS SERIOUS and sums up PAP 50 years OF HEGEMONY SOLELY to denationalise the entity of SG belongs to Singaporeans.

He and the PAP exists TO STRANGLE SG to their advantage and posterity.

And we therefore, at TRE continue and continue to EDUCATE SGpns the GRAVITY and seriousness WHY PAP CANNOT, MUST NOT be any more relevant TO SG further progress.

A Smart Nation TAG is THE MOST GRAVEST LIE todate.

  • Cancel the PAP at all costs:

I tend to believe during past couple of, some, years when I stress and emphasize to KICK off AWARENESS the PAP Administration exists to denationalisation of SG,
to deforge a Nationalistic behaviour, deforge a Nationalism unity spirit to unite Singaporeans for Singapore

    – certainly the PAP sat up, woke up, that a responsible citizen sparks a Nationalism awareness among SG, gathering steam AND THEY ARE NICKING it ON THEIR OWN TERMS before it becomes a SG WOKE MOVEMENT – God forbid, yours truly, that’s my sense of PAP – BORRROWING, STEALING, PLAGIARISING ideas to authenticize as THEIR VERY Own.

SHOCKING, but pleasantly unsurprised, there’s a BLOODY FIRST TIME, to the best of my awareness knowledge, a Notice in Tampines Hub, to portray their activities of leisure as ‘NATION BUILDING’.

The words Nation Builder is the FIRST TIME I come across the PAP using them.

Please DO NOT BRUSH this as trivia.
LET ME URGE YOU to pat attn.

MARK my words, the PAP has to, and they are beginning to sew the fabric of Nationalism among us all, if they don’t, their 100s of 1000s of aliens invited to invade SG from Myanmar, Msia, PRC, Vietnam, all 4 corners of the world will ALL be in vain to achieve PAP hegemony in terms of votes percentage evaporating that they hope not in the first place when THEY OPEN LEGS WIDE to misled us as SG Globalization efforts.

One question for my illiterate mind!

If Singapore has 700 years of history, who was the first prime minister? I was told LKY was the founding father of Singapore!

Or, he did came back from his grave several times already in the past, only this time he was not able to because he was cremated?!

The original inhabitants of the island were native Malays, so heard a Wong family from China swam there and ruled them.

Which history books did you guys referred to? Did you guys try the pappies edition history book, which has the “Ownself Approve Ownself” stamp? One chapter mentioned SG was a tiny fishing village when pap took over and they then transformed it (single-handedly) into what it was today.

The history of Temasik (former name of Singapore) goes back 2,000 years

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Singapore

The Greco-Roman astronomer Ptolemy (90–168) identified a place called Sabana at the tip of Golden Chersonese (believed to be the Malay Peninsula) in the second and third century.[5] The earliest written record of Singapore may be in a Chinese account from the third century, describing the island of Pu Luo Chung (蒲 羅 中). This is thought to be a transcription from the Malay name “Pulau Ujong”, or “island at the end” (of the Malay Peninsula).[6]

In 1025 CE, Rajendra Chola I of the Chola Empire led forces across the Indian Ocean and invaded the Srivijayan empire, attacking several places in Malaysia and Indonesia.[7][8] The Chola forces were said to have controlled Temasek (now Singapore) for a couple of decades.[9] The name Temasek however did not appear in Chola records, but a tale involving a Raja Chulan (assumed to be Rajendra Chola) and Temasek was mentioned in the semi-historical Malay Annals.[10]

  • Thinker:

While all this is happening, this so-called govie of the people has been adding hundreds of thousands of new citizens through stamping pink ICs. Singaporeans are evidently unhappy and upset at the overcrowding – everywhere you go. The people do not accept. So this shrewd govie has starting using the term `talent` to justify this action to naive Sinkies because that is more palatable. That is more acceptable. And Sinkies let in plane after plane loads of foreign citizens who are not talent but cheap supply for votes.

Real talent do not come to Singapore because real talent knows Singapore is limited. It is an invisible island with no potential. It is a fake democracy. Real talent don`t run into an authoritarian state for a better life. Remember that. Real talent knows opportunities are related to size of a country, as well. How many factories can you build on a tiny invisible island that is 3 times smaller than our neighboring state, JB? Hello? Think leh. Therein lies the opportunities as some poster highlighted previously. What happened to critical thinking skills of Sinkies?
