SPH Media Trust is getting $180,000,000 a year from the government which is paid for by us, taxpayers.
This saga of inflating daily circulation numbers by 10% to 12% is clearly misleading paying clientele of advertisers.
SPH Media distrust! More like it!

$900,000,000 of tax payers funds pledged over 5 years to fund SPH by the government, isn’t this a disaster?
SPH needs to provide half yearly progress updates to the government, as part of this deal, the government should make public this progress updates as the government should be accountable to tax payers as it’s tax payers who are footing the $180,000,000 a year bill for the next 5 years, amounting to a total of $900,000,000 across 5 years!

The excuse about shrinking readership is due to digitalisation of news & readily access to global news & whatnot.
The true fact is if the newspaper is about truth, being fair & balance, & to bring the news as is to the readers, there’ll be demands for the hardcopies.
But this newspaper is all about telling what the PAP want people to know & it’s unbelievable that every policy pull out by PAP is always good or even close to perfect.
This is the biggest reason why people are not reading this newspaper anymore.
So now the newspaper can continues to do what & how it is doing in the past, except that moving forward, it says almost unlimited financial resources to do more of the same.
