Author: Now that Dr Tan Cheng Bock has announced his intention to contest the next Presidential Elections, what would PAP do? Shift the Goal Pole again so that Dr Tan will not qualify as candidate?
That would be weird because how could one become a candidate last round and not become one this round? Well, PAP will be thick skin enough to do anything to help it gets what it wants. On the expense of our Nation’s reputation, of course… they have thick hides.

Dr Tan is a very respectable and ‘clean’ person, having served the party for over 2 decades under late LKY, so it is very hard to ‘take care or fix’ him. Besides, he knows all the tricks the party can come up with.
So my best guess is the PEC would be playing with the criteria for candidates to ensure that he does not qualify. Maybe change the sex of candidates to require only female?
With Yang successfully ‘taken care’ of, all eyes are now on Dr Tan.

Dr. Tan had already been disqualified when they changed the rules. He will still not meet the requirements as he has no experience running a large corporation or something like that. LHY is definitely out of the question as they have already sounded the “warning shot” with the allegation of perjury. He will be deemed unsuitable by the PEC while investigation is ongoing. Even if he is allowed to run and he wins the Presidency, he could still be investigated and charged for the alleged crime. They may have other contingency plans for him (Plan B-Z). The Elected (or selected) President President will always be someone closely connected with the ruling Party.

My guess is that d Party Against People may set age limit to disqualify Dr Tan from contesting d PE again.The last PE they changed the rule to reserve for d Malays only. They r clever to set new rules to disqualify d ppl who r willing to serve d country. They only want “kaki lang” to qualify only but not others. I wonder what they want to hide from our ppl ?

Hope this time, it’s not the 4 Tans again. If it is which PAP Tan, Mr Mee Siam mai hum has got in mind? Cannot be former President Tony Tan? He should be half-dead by now. Maybe The cb Tan Chuan Jing? It’s a move up for him, from Speaker to President of Singapore. Perhaps, Mee Siam Mai Hum will scheme another walk-over for the Establishment candidate. There is no need to disqualify or fix Tan Cheng Bock this time. Whoever becomes a the President will be a hybrid one. A cross between ceremonial and a political elected one by the time the Mee Siam no hum experts finish adding, subtracting, amending and deleting the Constitution to define the role and power of the President.

Well,the last round,did Tan Cheng Bock qualified ? If he didn’t ,can it be logical that this round and he qualified ?
However,this year president may really be Mr Tan Cheng Bok get elected if Ho Ching did not participate.It make it weird that Temasek lost so many hundreds millions in crypto currency and Ho Ching no need to take responsibility to be charged by the government for those are public funds !!!Still can keep her million dollar job somemore ? Why is it Ho Ching previously been reported to have retired from Temasek and indeed she did,think she went for some vacation,come back and given another million dollar post ?Something not very right with our Lee Hsien Loong governmnent,isn’t it ?And did Ho Ching ever received a big lump sum of gratituity money or pension when previously she retired already ? And if so,now another million dollar job at Temasek and if she retired again,will there be another gratituity or pension money for her again ? Can government clarify all these positions ?

It should be the people’s choice not based on the criteria set out by the PAP. The PAP should have an “hands off” approach to the selection of the President. If it comes to the same as HY, we would need to be worried about our reserves.
