Don’t be so mean lar, I talk to my 2 pet doggy all the time, and there are many families where I live even addressing our pets as sons and daughters. It’s natural for people to develop affection and bond with their pets.
But then hor, me no President, can do anything I want, nobody will hue me. So then hor, say if Ng kenna elected and then one fine day, some time into his term, this video suddenly kenna despicably spread all over the internet, then… Sinkieland will look like…?

According to this cna video, supposedly quoting the election department, the President “cannot express public views on legislation or Government policy without being advised to do so by the Government.”
An independent President will firstly ask the Election Department what laws they use to dictate the behavior of the President beyond what’s stated in the Constitution.
A subservient President will quietly accept this. He would then resign himself to stay quietly inside the Istana. He would start talking to his pets (animal type).

My understanding is that the election department (under PMO) ONLY deals with potential candidates and election matters (be it PE or GE). However, once the election is completed, they are COMPLETELY powerless as the Presidential Office is way way way ABOVE their paygrade. Not to mention the President, they can’t even fart in front of an elected MP or even a NMP or NCMP.
So unless the CONSTITUTION provides for that in black and white, 可以当他们是个屁， 放了。
