The clock is ticking
The Clock Is Ticking! Parliament Has To Be Dissolved At The Latest On 24 August 2025!
You would have read that the latest the GE has be held is November 2025. While that may be theoretically correct, the more important date for Singaporean voters to note is that Parliament has to be dissolved by 24 August 2025. The term of current Parliament ends on 23 August 2025! On 24 August 2025, all the present 93 MPs will be MPs no more!
Once Parliament is dissolved, the next step is for the Writ of Election to be issued. We all know that in the Singapore context, once the Writ of Election is issued, polling takes place 17 days after that.
For me, the important date to take note is therefore the last day for Parliament to be dissolved and not when is the latest for the GE to be held. The President on advice of the Prime Minister can of course dissolve Parliament much sooner.
The clock is ticking and Lawrence Wong will no doubt be hearing the tik tock sound.
The GE will be upon us sooner than most people expect.

Shakespeare made these predictions for GE2025.
All’s Well That Ends Well. LW will be satisfied.
Much Ado about Nothing. Oppo supporters will feel this way.
Taming of the Shrew. Shockingly, the shrew will be humbled.

It is pretty obvious PAP got no confidence to go to get Singaporeans marking for their doings & undoing.
LW is likely to give out a bigger than ever before bonuses & packages in Feb Budget presentation.
This is now the usual flow of things for PAP – sweeten the ground & then go for the kill.
Unfortunately, it may not work out this time because the degree of sufferings & angers are unprecedented.
Throwing out money may not be enough anymore if PAP continue to do what they had been doing the past 10 years.
It is almost impossible to get a proper jobs, especially the young people, have to wait donkey years for HDB flats, allowing almost zero control of costs, continue the policy of open border…etc
Sad to say, LW does not seem to have any intention to change or put in more effort to resolve these issues.
A NO from me in the poll.

Whom to choose? The mRNA-jabbing MIW or the goodu oppo parties that follow them like a d*g? Co-driver? Yes – from the prison.

“The clock is ticking and Lawrence Wong will no doubt be hearing the tik tock sound.” Of course he heard it but the problem is he has not given away all those taxpayers’ money, to buy enough votes. He has no ball to call for the GE now. He still has a few months to give away the money.

You can already see PAP trying to sweeten the ground as much as they can liao. It’s only January and the CDC vouchers, rebates and cash top ups either have been given out or soon to be disbursed. Plus with the budget next month people are surely expecting big big things.
Whether this is enough to raise their vote share remains to be seen though. Singaporeans showed we weren’t to be messed with in the last election causing them to lose another GRC PLUS an 8% vote share decline. Will the same thing happen again this time or will voters once again be kaisee and choose to be fooled instead?
You can bet your HDB that PAP will be repeating every chance they get about a strong government being able to make decisions quickly with no gridlock, trust in the government, trust between the people and government and all the same old nonsense.
They can call it tomorrow if they want to, the opposition have also been preparing for the election too you know. I want to see just how many seats WP, PSP and SDP contest this time round.

Hope more daft ones will be able to see the situation clearly like you had. LW will not change the status quo; the MIW had the most to gain by keeping the status quo. Unfortunately, the peasants are the ones who had the most to lose.

Trump has shown voters the most effective ways to change the direction of a country. The day he’s in, out go many of Biden policies.
Oppositions are sick of weak voters, who kpkb and beg and hope for change and yet continue to vote their old ways. As one opposition said, such weak voters deserved all the bad policies. Note that children may suffer from their parents’ votes.

US President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order ending federal support for medical procedures related to so-called gender transitions for people under age 19. The move is part of a broader effort to roll back pro-transgender legislation introduced during the Biden administration.
See?
If you want change, you have to change the leaders. It is foolish to beg and hope that old leaders will change.
