Addressing Graduate Unemployment
Recent statistics reveal a concerning trend: 20% of new graduates are unable to secure gainful employment. This alarming figure highlights a structural gap in the labor market that, if left unaddressed, could have long-term economic and social repercussions. The government must take decisive action to bridge this gap and ensure that graduates can transition smoothly from education to employment.
One of the key challenges facing graduates is the mismatch between their skills and market demands. Many employers report difficulties in finding candidates with the necessary expertise, particularly in technical and specialized fields. To tackle this issue, the government should work closely with educational institutions and industries to realign curricula with market needs. Enhancing vocational training, expanding internship opportunities, and fostering stronger collaboration between universities and businesses will help equip graduates with relevant skills and increase their employability.
In addition to skill alignment, the government should introduce targeted policies to stimulate job creation. Incentives for companies that hire fresh graduates, such as tax breaks or wage subsidies, can
encourage businesses to open more entry-level positions. Furthermore, fostering a robust startup ecosystem through grants and funding will empower young entrepreneurs to create employment opportunities for themselves and others.
Another crucial aspect of addressing graduate unemployment is career guidance and job placement support. Many young job seekers struggle with navigating the employment landscape, often due to a lack of
professional networks or industry exposure. Establishing government-backed career centers and mentorship programs can provide essential support, helping graduates find suitable job opportunities and develop soft skills needed in the workplace.
Additionally, the government must take measures to prevent foreign labor from squeezing the local workforce. While foreign talent plays a role in economic growth, unchecked reliance on foreign labor can limit opportunities for local graduates. Implementing policies that prioritize local hires, enforcing fair employment practices, and setting quotas for foreign recruitment in certain sectors can ensure that local graduates are not disadvantaged in their job search.
Lastly, investing in digital transformation and the gig economy can open new pathways for employment. As remote work and freelancing gain traction globally, equipping graduates with digital literacy and entrepreneurial skills will enable them to tap into international job markets and alternative career paths.
Failure to act on graduate unemployment not only wastes talent but also risks social discontent and economic stagnation. The government must recognize the urgency of this issue and implement comprehensive
measures to ensure that graduates can contribute meaningfully to the workforce and the nation’s progress.

Local graduates from world’s top ranking NUS N NTU are less talented than those FTs(Fake- Degree Talents), dumped here by world’s top salaried ministers into tiny Sg.
Such talents are so talented in “FAKING/$CAMMING/BACK-KICKING,ETC.
So die die PAP GAHMEN must bring them in by the planeloads.
NUS/NTU professors are overpaid for doing such a lousy job!
Might as well Save Taxpayer Money.
Close down local varsities.
Parents can send their kids to get Double Degrees,Masters and PHDs from Pinoyland,India and Timbaktu and come back as “FTs Extraordinaires”?
If our sgs go to India or Pinoyland and come out top 30 pct ,will PAP consider them as FIRST CHOICE FTs or WILL PAP STILL INSIST FTs must be “ALIENS” even if they ranked lower than sgs from same Indian or Pinoy universities ???
I really wonder.
Maybe Sg parents can try and save some school fees and take pressure of their kids by sending them to India or Pinoyland to study?

Dear CWC-AI,
You talk so much. Please tell us what had you done for Singaporeans?
Singaporeans are undesirable as they are 10 years series templated exam passer without real life work experience.
Anything that is not inside the 10 years series template, Singaporeans don’t know what to do.
Lastly, this former FT below correctly describe Singaporean young and old.

Actually there were many foreigners in school. We did not have to do their homework. At least they knew English. And we hung out together.
In today’s context, the foreigners are pitted against locals. So it’s us VS them because some wanted it that way.
Worked for gay bosses before. I don’t have to trade sexual favors to get the job or promotion. If I’m good, I get rewarded, if not, counselling.
Those straight people are worse, anyhow fire people. All employees know.
Also those companies with high turnover – normally the boss is the problem. Either foul tempered or under pay or don’t even pay.
At least from my experience, gay bosses pay on time. The heterosexual ones always looking for cheaper and ask for freebies. Disgusting.

Problems are bigger than what CWC-AI mentioned. Remember that Nisha from IDA kenna caught with fake degree, then IDA brushed off because that degree not relevant to the role. Wah lau, JT’s desperado IDA and by extension gov allowed false declarations from FT, and suddenly SG got to “swallow” dishonest values? Then someone like TCH only owned up to recent IC problem…., while his low lifeform colleagues only knew how to keep quiet.
I don’t endorse opposition that stirs shit but this gov has too many lj leaders looking after their own interests above those from citizens. Election season round the corner and we can expect tons of flak thrown at those opposition highlighting genuine concerns.

Do people remember that House was used as the venue to confer fake degrees? Can give fake degrees but cannot lie?

Singapore graduates go to waste.
China graduates, Chinese scientists have unveiled a new superconducting quantum computing prototype they say operates a million times faster than one of Google’s top quantum processors. The Chinese chip is also a quadrillion times more efficient than any conventionally built supercomputer, according to a statement issued by its creators.
Our richly rewarded leaders are not hungry.

If SG-GRADUATES AND ASPIRANTS TO LOCAL UNIVERAITIES,INCLUDING NSF-servicemen VOTE FOR OPPO MPs,the problem of LOCAL GRADUATES’ JOBLESSness will surely be more sincerely looked into.
I dare any local graduates, employed currently or jobless,to bet with me.

@Sure way
Agreed,so many daft graduates.
In fact,too many.
All just love sucking lollies like Baby Bonus.
Also,Oppo sgs are equally daft.
They keep thinking they can win GE by fighting individually as WP or WC?
Leader of Opposition?
By what measure?
By TRUE LEADERSHIP or by “APPOINTMENT” from PAP?
PS IS STUPID.
IF HE TAKES ON AS TRUE UNIFYING OPPO LEADER ,OPPO WILL WIN BIG.
Winning a few seats here and there will only confirm “co-drivers” OPPO MPs.
Is that useful for voiceless sgs at all?
20 years or more WP MPs have been receiving $16K but what has been achieved truly?
Dr Tan Cheng Bok should be Oppo Leader.
All others should support him.
Else,don’t waste time on GE.
Win Big.
Win meaningfully.
Sgs do not need co-driving MPs.
We need LEADING DRIVERS OF CHANGE.
DON’T REMIAN DAFT.
BE WISE.BE WINNERS.
DON’T BE LOSERS…
FTs are laughing at us.
PRs are laighing at us and laughing all zhe way to the Bank after grtting our good-paying jobs and RESELLING their HDB.
$1.5M only.
Soon $2M HDB.
CLEVER GOVERNMENT OR STUPID?
Your vote is the answer.

YOU want to be oppo leader. Easy loh. Just field a big no. of candidates and make sure they, including you, win.
All other talk is daydreaming and trouble-making.

Hahaha!Same old trick$.
Give lollies to educated young daft sinkies to buy votes.
Same Election Goodies for lollies’ lovers.
Suck and suck GE after GE and remain as dafties.
Then lose their job$ to FTs and KPKB till the cows come home.
Lan lan, graduates or ITEs ,all got to ride bicycles “chasing the rainbow” to deliver food and drinks to FTs.
Meanwhile,NUS AND NTU keep churning out more graduates that will be the new batches of jobless sinkies.
Why keep paying high tuition fees to academicians who never speak out for their graduates as if all is well and right?
Singaporeans are becoming more and more a GOONDOO NATION.
ONLY GOOD AT FARKING FELLOW CITIZENS especially bullying senior citizens.
Young sgs our future hope?
You decide.
