Granted, natural disasters are not peculiar to mainland China. However, no other places bear similarities with them. No one country on Earth suffers from natural disaster as much as mainland China in terms of its magnitude, combinations, duration and severity. Northern parts of the land could suffer from severe drought but the southern part is inundated by floods. Meanwhile, typhoons and earthquakes could strike at yet other parts of the country. Horrific strong winds could blow through large parts of the fertile arable lands generated sand storms on regular basis thus affecting food security. Just name me another place on earth where same thing happens!
