So, what is ‘propaganda’, fake news – will most Singaporeans be able to tell the difference?

I refer to the article “4 in 5 Singaporeans confident in spotting fake news but 90 per cent wrong when put to the test: Survey” (Straits Times, Sep 27).

It states that “Four in five Singaporeans say that they can confidently spot fake news, but when put to the test, about 90 per cent mistakenly identified at least one out of five fake headlines as being real.

These were among the findings of an online survey released on Thursday (Sept 27) by global independent market research agency Ipsos, which aims to understand the susceptibility of Singaporeans towards fake news.

A total of 750 Singapore citizens and permanent residents, aged 15 to 65, participated in the survey between July 30 and Aug 2.

Younger Singaporeans and university graduates were more confident about this, the survey found.

But when they were given five news headlines from digital channels and asked to indicate which ones were fake, only 43 per cent correctly identified two or fewer fake headlines out of the five.”

My friends said “aiyah, this one so obvious lah! Propaganda lah – immediately after fake news recommendations – now got this survey – what a coincidence hehe!

We asked a lot of people and 100% said they know for sure lah! Its so obvious that all of the following were ‘propaganda’ by our 151st ranked media:- – not worth the paper it is printed on lah hahahaha!”

“… “The ‘HDB’ propaganda war has begun?” (Sep 23)

… “2 pages HDB: Shit Times not worth the paper it is printed on?” (Aug 26)

… “Shit TV: Not worth the screen you watch it on?” (Aug 26)

… “Why 151st ‘relentlessly attacking’ Malaysia?” (Aug 17)

… “ST not worth paper its printed on lah?” (Jul 30)

… “Health data hacking: “Damage control” reporting – 6 in 1 day hor?” (Jul 21)

… “Salaries: Is the Straits Times worth the paper it is printed on?” (Jun 25)

… “Gambling reaches record high, but 151st media said … ?” (Nov 24, 2017)

… “151st media makes my ’64th birth’ day”?” (Nov 23, 2017)

… “151st media did it 8 times in the last 2 months?” (Sep 28, 2017)”

BUYERS OF PUBLIC HOUSING ARE “factually and legally” the owners of their flats, so claims the 3Gs mob but none of the 4Gs dare came out publicly in support.

How many detected this is FAKE news? How many daft peasants knows the law that it is the EXACT OPPOSITE – regardless of the survey on “fake news”

“ Singaporeans have been able to keep the profit from the sale of their Housing Board flats, and that proves that they are owners, not mere tenants. Everybody who has actually made a profit on the sale of an HDB flat, you cannot say that it’s not an asset. Of course it is…If you’re not the owner, then you don’t get to keep the profit either. Owners get to sell because you transfer the right to the property. If you’re a tenant, you don’t get to sell, you get the right to live in, but you don’t have the right to deal with the property”

Sale for profit proves asset? Is that in accounting or in law if it is a bond issue? Keeping the profit from sales proves “ownership” but HDB as leasor demand and extracted resale levy from peasants. So is HDB the real silent owner or part owner in this very strange law definition? And if you are a tenant, you don’t get to sell….don’t have the right to deal with the property? Didn’t the author also knows that a LEASE IS A CONVEYANCE and a landlord-tenant is MERELY a contract of letting without transfer of law ownership rights i.e. comparing a lychee with a rambutan of illogic?

Why is other 3Gs silent of EXACTLY what is “factually” and “legally” either in support or refutation of this (to me) windy happy contradictions above of lessee and owner is the same thing?

First and foremost, “what is fake news”?. What if someone says “there will be rain tomorrow” but it did not happen, it is fake news? Can I sue that person because I brought rain coat and umbrella out?

Second, what’s news? I am not a reporter or a journalist, I wrote something on Facebook, or some social media, is that a fake news?

Maybe we can define, only those written in our 151th media are real news, all others are fake!!

Or asking a question can be a fake news?

//So, what is ‘propaganda’, fake news – will most Singaporeans be able to tell the difference?//

aiyoh. this fake news thingy (term) is getting out of hand lar and the term is overused lar. anything you don’t agree (it could be just harmless gossip or opinion / view), then call it fake news lar.

may be good for the 154th gang as it gives additional righteous weapon (bogeyman) to silent contrary voice vs white idiotic narrative (if you cannot clearly define what exactly fake news is.

is everyday kaypoh untrue gossip passing around (could be viral), kopi shop views & opinions (may be inaccurate interpretation) of an event considered ‘fake news’ and subject to the law, if implemented.

Well the one constant thing that we all say that PAP can’t even defend is the HDB ownership issue. And yet it’s been allowed to continue into the present day. PAP never fail to make clowns of themselves, ever.

Don’t bother with the survey lah, it’s another read it and forget it thing just like how that 97% commuters satisfied with MRT not too long ago. We all know it’s fake and we all had a good laugh about it too.

    @ Opposition dude

IF PEASANTS EVER OWN THEIR HDB FLAT, how could they possibly lease the same subject-matter from a concealed ghostly fiction AT THE SAME TIME of the leasing period? Ownership is a NOUN and leasing is a VERB and in any leasing transaction concluded, only the possessory occupation use is necessarily – as a CONVEYANCING ACT (verb) – passes on to the lessee but not the title of ownership to which the leasor/owner retains all property rights in reversion at lease expiry.

The lessee NEVER owns the title to the real property. If it is otherwise, it is NOT even a legal lease but a contract to transfer a bundle of limited rights replicating a simple contract of subletting for defined limited use purpose for specific period i.e. a landlord-tenant agreement. The real owner can take back possession at any moment giving notice with/without compensation as agreed or silent of this provision/ Such is the case in HDB public housing which it took back even those fully-paid flat (AN ENTIRE BLOCK WHOA!!) and then sold the land to developers for profits WHICH IT KEEP EXCLUSIVELY for their own benefits.

REMEMBER PAPpys Ministers said that the one who sold the flats and keep the profit is -IN PAPpy’s real property – is the primae facie ‘OWNER”.

It ahouldn’t take a little more than a moron – except the 70% daft too stupid to even begin to discover they are stupid to impossibility – to figure out “who” is the SINGULAR owner and who are the NUMEROUS lessees whose flats collectively are owned by that one “owner”. If there were many lessee matched by equal number of owners, those SERs can’t be achieved as some flats buyers might refuse to give consent just like those in private condos situation.

Since HDB dwellers/occupiers are NOT owners (HDB selectively takes back possession without default of dwellers), NOT lessee (HDB claims they are owners instead and peasants don’t pay land rent but pay property tax too), it must either be a landlord-tenant contract paid in advance or it MUST BE A SCAM!!

    4Gs all DIAM DIAM DIAM!!!
