  • Don't know and don't care:

    Murali’s defence is copied below.

God, don’t these people know that all these so-called precautionary measures are totally useless. Go read up on how this virus spreads. China already said by then (early March) that the virus spreads from people without any symptons, i.e., no fever, no unwell feeling.

The more they defend, the more ignorant they show themselves to be. Ministers, MPs, “community leaders” must not be so ignorant. They put their community members and the entire Singapore population at risk!

Summary: they don’t know and they don’t care.

    Murali’s defence:

In a Facebook post, Mr Murali shared a list of precautionary measures the Bukit Batok Active Ageing Club said it had undertaken before the dinner held on March 7 to celebrate its eighth anniversary.

This list, compiled by club chairman Ong Chai and originally shared on the club’s Facebook page, included measures such as mandatory temperature checks, travel and health advisories and having organisers look out for and advise anyone who felt unwell to see a doctor and rest at home.

The club also took additional steps like extending the dinner tables beyond the original dining space to spread dining groups out more, having serving spoons for each dish and designating volunteers to do the serving for each table, and scaling down the event, added Mr Ong.

  • Small Space Isn't Safe:

Many senior and elderly citizens are vulnerable to the lure of subsidized dinners, functions, tours and excursions organized by the RC and CC. They are old, with little or no income, and they cannot travel far on their own. For them, it is an opportunity to get out of the home and be with friends and neighbours with whom they interact frequently at the RC. If it is a good deal, why not? They are a sure catch for the Party like fish lured to their baits. This is certainly the worst time possible to bring the elderly and seniors together around the dinner table in a crowded room. Poor judgement! Remember what happened at SAFRA Jurong?

  • Small Space Isn't Safe:

They may have taken all the necessary precautions but Covid-19 is very elusive and sneaky you know! It can show no symptoms, it stays on surfaces for longer than usual, and it survives in the air! Are the diners seated 1m apart from one another? Why do they often contradict their own instructions?

This xia suay idiot should face consequences from Lanlan Wong for exposing people to a deadly virus.

  • Bobo:

Perhaps Free club dinner organised by MP should be damn expensively good. Not everyone got invited, so count themselves lucky to be invited as VVIPs and specifically entaintained by a heavy weight MP (personally) with two body guards to boost their show. No worries mah, PAP is always well prepared one lah. If anyone so damn unluckily caught the virus, they enjoy also free medical attention throughout until they fully well recovered.

  • PAPVID-20:

Ah Mu has indirectly caused a woman resident to die in a fire. If BB residents are stupid enough to vote for him again, which means he survives another election, then I wonder how many more unfortunate residents of his constituency will not survive for long due to his stupidity and incompetency.

BB residents, wake up and learn your lesson! Ah Mu can’t even hold a candle to Dr Chee. Vote for the person who truly cares for you, not anyone who wears white.

  • BB Curse:

I recall The Curse of Bukit Batok was reflected in an TRE article months ago…
All these happened after Bukit Batok’s Bi-election..

    1) 1st Nov 19 – Woman dies in fire. This incident was complicated by fire hoses locked and finally when SCDF broke open them, there was no water. On Nov 15, MP Murali told residents that he was accountable to them as their elected representative and apologized for the lapses.
    2) 15th Nov 19 – a Japanese Mother and son found dead on Bukit Batok Hill. Investigation is still in progress.
    3) 20th Jul 19 – crane crashes into sheltered walkway in Bukit Batok, between Block 504 and 506 of Bukit Batok East Street 52.
    4) 17th Jun 19 – Lorry crashes into walkway shelter at Bukit Batok, causing it to collapse on car. A sheltered walkway at Block 116 Bukit Batok West Avenue 6 collapsed after the crane boom of a lorry crashed into it.
    5) 6th Feb 2017 – A new rat infestation has been discovered in Bukit Batok, raising fears that the infestations that were discovered in 2014 and 2016 might be making a comeback, as Rats can carry a variety of different disease causing agents, and these can be transmitted from the rats to humans. Rats are associated with the transmission of several important infections in humans, including leptospirosis and plague.
    6) 3rd May 15 – Mystery bugs invade and plagued Bukit Batok residents, their sudden outbreak remains unclear. They then simply dropped dead, leaving huge piles of carcasses to clear.
    7) 26th Sep 19 and 17th Oct 17 – Pipes burst at Bukit Batok West and Bukit Batok East respectively. Water spouts raised several storeys and caused localized flooding.
    8) 12th Sep 17 – Five hurt in Bukit Batok industrial blast. The blast happened at ZTP Ginseng Bird nest’s factory on the 11th storey of Enterprise Centre, at 20 Bukit Batok Crescent. Five workers from the factory were injured.
    9) May and Jun 2017 – Lifts installed by Sigma Elevator at Bukit Batok’s Skyline II estate had broken down about seven times.
    10) And many more Incidents….

  • Tremendous:

There are 2 idiots nowadays. The first one is called Batok Mur, pioneering the mass gathering for Bukit Batok as if he didn’t bother about social distancing. The second one is called OYK, walking around the hawker centre blaming people who ignore social distancing instead of telling Batok Mur off. Heard these two fellows are from the same pack. Hypocrites.
