AIC: 10 more confirmed COVID-19 cases linked to Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced ten new cases of COVID-19 infection linked to Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home (LAM) at 1 Thomson Lane. This forms a new cluster and takes the total number of cases linked to LAM (Thomson) to eleven. *

2. Following the first confirmed case at LAM (Thomson) on 31 March 2020, LAM (Thomson) worked with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) to test all the Home’s residents and symptomatic staff for COVID-19 infection. Of the ten new cases detected, eight are residents at the Home (Cases 983, 984, 985, 986, 987, 988, 989, 990). The remaining new cases are a staff (Case 976) of LAM (Thomson), who cared for female residents at the home, and a family member of the staff, Case 973.

3. Since 31 March 2020, all staff caring for the Home’s female residents had been placed on Quarantine Order (QO). With the new cases, the remaining staff have also been placed on QO starting from today. MOH and AIC are working to provide LAM (Thomson) with manpower support during this period to ensure service continuity, so that its residents will not be affected.

4. Case 973 works in a non-patient facing role at Moral Home for the Aged Sick (Moral Home). He has not been at work since onset of symptoms. AIC has also been in contact with Moral Home, which has stepped up vigilance in monitoring the health status of residents and staff. So far, all its residents are well.

Additional precautionary measures for Nursing Homes

5. MOH and AIC have issued an advisory on 1 April 2020 on enhanced precautionary measures for all Nursing Homes (NHs). The additional precautionary measures that all NHs must adhere to include:

i. Suspension of all visitors to all NHs from 2 April 2020 until 30 April 2020.
Nursing homes will offer caregivers alternative options such as telephone or video calls. MOH will review the situation closer to date.
ii. Safe distancing for all NH residents.
iii. NHs with more than 200 beds will begin to implement split-zones.
iv. Reminder that staff who are unwell must not turn up for work.

6. MOH and AIC have also reiterated that NHs are to adhere strictly to advisories on COVID-19 precautionary measures. MOH and AIC will continue to monitor the situation closely, and work with the NHs to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their residents and staff.

The first detected case may not always be the initial carrier as many examples in Wuhan has shown. Its just that she was the first one to have shown symptoms.

With the 10 additional cases within 24 hours, have measures been taken to screen all (not just symptomatic) of the residents for the virus and not only do temperature test – which have been proven useless in 80% of the confirmed cases in China?

I certainly did not see the statement mentioning testing all of the residents whether symptomatic or not. Is LAM waiting for symptoms to show one by one only then treat them individually?

If the above is true (passive reaction), then I fear for the residents because LAM may be the cluster where in the days to come will see the most death arising from the Covid-19 because these residents are most vulnerable due to their age and probably existing medical conditions.

LAM should act more proactively and responsibly to go one step further and test all the residents instead of waiting for 2 non-doctors from dunno what task force telling LAM what half-baked measures to take next.

These residents may not be your parents, but they sure certainly are someone else’!

    @TRE Techie

In sg, everything, everyone and every organisation also must seek pap govt’s approval before proceeding on what to do de mah. Cannot suka suka make their own decisions one, you know. Like the Fengshan preschool, when they first had a Covid-19 case, the ECDA and MOE didn’t allow them (not I say one hor, ST reported it) to close for 14 days until more staff became unwell.

I bet at LAM, they also cannot anyhow suggest want to test the ah kong and ah mah without MOH saying so. I don’t want to sound too obvious lah hor but why do you think sg hit zhun zhun exactly 1,000 cases yesterday. Everyday also got control the numbers one lah. Maybe got seek fengshui advice also lah, I don’t know.

That’s why when I read that Barbra commended the d!shonourable son for being truthful, I was rolling on the floor laughing my socks off. And I was thinking if only her brain is big like her nose.

@TRE Techie; not choice, the “2 non-doctors from dunno what task force” are waiting for a magic solution, while temporary LAM has to put on the brake.

MOH cannot make the decision lar, they have also to clear with the LEEder, who must then decide if it would affect the erection or not. That may take a few days because also have to consult fengshui master and finally, the master of the house.

If what you say is true, then I pray for these poor oldies’s soul because kenna infected is not a matter of IF but WHEN. From cases seen in Wuhan, some of them might already have been infected and are now carriers, remaining asymptomatic for the time being.

Without a full test on all its residents, the LAM cluster is a disaster for death waiting to happen.

If I were their sons and daughters, I would IMMEDIATE take them out from the home asap and send them for tests.

With half-baked policies cooked by retards, home appears to be a safer place for these oldies but goodies.

I would pray very hard for them.

P/S: Studies have shown that those blood group “A” and 50+ are MOST VULNERABLE to the Covid-19 disease, with the highest death rate to date.

  • Absolutely no learning?:

It is very sad that the taskforce waited until there is an outbreak at this place before they implement additional precautionary procedures.

“5. MOH and AIC have issued an advisory on 1 April 2020 on enhanced precautionary measures for all Nursing Homes (NHs). The additional precautionary measures that all NHs must adhere to include:”

The question is don’t they have people reading the world news, or even special gov-to-gov updates on what is happening around the world?

So many countries have big clusters and many deaths around old folks nursing or care centres.

Why is this taskforce so ignorant? No only the taskforce, the gov too. This gov has zero learning from the fast happening situations in other countries, such as Italy, China, USA, Canada. These countries have big clusters and death are old folks centres many many days ago.

Eh, taskforce commander, assign someone highup to read TREMERITUS. You can learn lots of important information about covid-19.

Oh ya! Stupid me! How could I have forgotten the LEEder, the one who calls all the shots?! Haiz!

If I were their sons and daughters, I would IMMEDIATE take them out from the home asap.”

Sorry, man. No way any son or daughter can do anything now. They already barred visitors from the Home until end of the month. It’s a lockdown at LAM liao. No visitors allowed and cannot move them out. So we can only sympathise with the old folks there. Sibeh chit ark. Sibeh ti ki. Don’t want a lockdown and now caused people to suffer.

Really, we can only pray hard for everyone of the oldies.

Reported on Straits Times website :Quote – “My First Skool in Rivervale Crescent to close temporarily after teacher diagnosed with Covid-19

SINGAPORE – My First Skool in Rivervale Crescent will be closed from Friday (April 3) to April 14 as a teacher has come down with Covid-19.

Affected staff and students at the pre-school have also been placed on leave of absence.

In a statement on Thursday night, the Early Childhood Development Agency said the teacher was last in the pre-school on Tuesday.

“The centre will conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the pre-school premises and is closely monitoring its staff and parents on the health of their children,” a spokesman said, adding that this is on top of existing precautionary measures, such as restricting visitors, suspending large group activities and stepping up temperature screening.

“Pre-schools are reminded to be vigilant when conducting health checks, and to observe high standards of personal and environmental hygiene. This includes keeping the centre environment clean, and frequent washing of hands with soap – especially before eating or handling food, after toilet visits, or when hands are dirtied by respiratory secretions after coughing or sneezing.”….” Unquote.

Response :Singapore should closed down all the pre-school and let all those pre – school woman teachers go on unpaid leave so that they can give birth at home and boost up the population birth rate which that evil Josephine Teo Li Min failed to accomplish after misabusing tons of public funds without needing to be send to jail for justice. Yet, LHL can still continue to give million dollar of salary to such e*** Josephine Teo Li Min.

Did everybody remember that previously the Singapore government has pumped out think $5,000,000,000 of public funds to develop pre school educations for five years. I think that idea was pushed through by Tharman if I remember correctly. Now look like the pre-school may be going down the drain after spending $5,000,000,000 for five years duration period. And some of these shameless women pre – school teachers may have the possibility to get MC excuse from using corona virus to enjoy their e*** woman lifestyle. And the dumb government $5,000,000,000 investments may go down the drain, who knows? And why does such lowest level pre – school level that just teaches basic ABC still need the government to invest such a gigantic $5,000,000,000 for all those evil women beasts to enjoy, employing them as women teachers, women principals? Isn’t that $5,000,000,000 spent off a suspicious figure. One will just need $3,000,000,000 and that is more than enough to build pre-school. Who knows whether if any of the rest of billions that may become siphon off away going through an indirect route or not?

No wonder Sinkapore cannot control teh spread and figures are rising daily.

Teacher kenna the rest colleagues and students ONLY put on LOA? What kind of a freaking joke is this?

Covid-19 is infectious even when asymptomatic, allowing the close contacts, colleagues and students to go home and serve a LOA is an open invitation to the virus to infect other family members own time own target!

All those who have had close and prolong contacts with the infected teacher should be tested for the Covid-19 immediately and quarantined until the test results are out, instead of waiting for the virus to churn out symptoms. The skool should not be allowed to reopen unless all its staff have been tested for the virus. What use is “closely monitoring” when an infected person can infect others before showing any symptoms?

ECDA must be staffed with retards for even coming out with this lamest of response. In less than a week, the skool will be another cluster added to the current list.

    Anyone disagree?
