PAP Needs To Wipe The Smile Off Their Faces And Take This Seriously

At a time when We are facing the greatest crisis in modern times, why are many millions of dollars being spent on a meaningless fun pack for NDP?

There are many thousands of small and micro-businesses which are hurting and facing financial wipe-out because of this pandemic. There are many self-employed who are struggling to put food on the table. There are many desperately poor who cannot even afford the basic necessities in life.

It is inappropriate and tactless that at a perilous time such as now, this government is still allowing resources to be wasted on such frivolity!

These resources can be much better spent on helping small and micro-businesses, the self-employed and the poor!

Peoples Voice lends its whole-hearted support to the online campaign which has been started, and which has already gathered many supporters who have said they do not wish to receive the fun-pack. We salute these brave Singaporeans who are taking a principled stand.

This is another bad judgment call by an incompetent government made up of weak men and women!

    Well said. Supported.

None of my friends displays the flag nor in the least interested in NDP. Many take as a chance to flee the country.

    NDP is just for propaganda.

    What’s there to celebrate?

Why waste the millions of our taxpayer money?

Save the millions and give it to the needy.

How much is spent on NDP? Or is it a state secret like HoJinx salary?

Who wants to see an authoritarian leader and his yes men?

  • NotMyProblem:

@Mr. Lim Tean: A lot of the items for this NDP fun-packs are sponsored by enterprises. Most of these enterprises have connection with Temasek. In fact all of them lead to Temasek.

This is how money was spent and un-auditable!

When the public was speculating on its CEO’s salary, this spending should not be forgotten!!

For those who have received these fun-packs would know the quality of the items but would have no idea how much was spent for these inferior items. Everyone just received and felt good about it.

If “These resources can be much better spent on helping small and micro-businesses, the self-employed and the poor!” would has a different effect. There would be no feel-good for the general public. The public will not be thinking the fun-pack come from sponsors and supporters of PAP!!

Funpacks and fireworks are a waste of money. Please use them to drop GST from 7% to 0%. We will definitely appreciate that. If they are so important, please ask the gov linked companies to sponsor. This is the time they have to contribute back to Singapore and have their names listed out so public could thank them.

  • PAP is Doomed:

@Mr. Lim Tean: Singaporeans know too well that PAP will spend millions of taxpayer money when election is round the corner. Of course such money does not come from the Party.

In previous elections, the 70% sheep population were willing to trade their votes for a packet of chicken rice and NTUC Vouchers distributed in CC, RC and other “grassroot” organizations.

Unfortunately, for this year election, karma has come hard on PAP and has destroyed their plans for a strong mandate. Thanks to the incapable and incompetent 4G Team who mismanaged the pandemic.

Due to lockdown, no chicken rice packet can be given away. Only way now to win votes is issue Fun packs. Is a Singaporean-vote value is worth only a fun pack ?

Govt must cancel this fun-pack and spend the money wisely on poor Singaporeans who are jobless and having problem feeding their children and school expenses.

We also don’t need fireworks display. Many Singaporeans are already under fire without job.

If you know the PAP–they will do whatever they want to do–no matter what the people says. Over the years, the PAP has grown deaf and will not listen to reason. That is why the PAP has to go at the earliest opportunity.

So fun packs for NDP it will be–even if they are all tossed into the sea. Make some space in your cramped HDB flats to store those items. Face masks–not enough but fun packs aplenty. Are they celebrating your National Day or the PAP’s national day? You have to decide.

As with previous NDP’s if there is going to be marching, you will find a PAP contigency marching but no other political parties. So think about it—your Singapore National Day or PAP day.

Remember, everything they do–they do it for themselves. Don’t be fooled by crocodile tears and tearing up and all the other dramatics. You need to have that iron in your belly to make the decision to remove the PAP however painful it may be for you. This is not against the PAP but for the good of the country, its citizens and the future generations.

We have been fools for more than 50 years.

Why are we celebrating NDP? All we need is some fireworks and outdoor activities like most advanced countries are doing. We do not need to display military might like communist states (China and North Korea).

Not only that, but our kids are also forced to attend practices months before the NDP, both n the national level and school level. This is such a waste f time and energy. Our kids are being brainwashed into serving the PAP.

Look at the way the PAP MPs, Ministers, PM and President would come to the NDP and everyone has to stand up and worship them. This is bull shit. We voted them to serve us not the other way around.

Coe on Singapore, it is time to abolish not just these stupid fun packs, but also do away with NDP and abolish NS altogether. We don’t want to send out sons to harm’s way and when they are injured, handicapped or die, how much does the PAP government compensate us? I heard only S$10,000. |Are our sons really worth only S$10,000?

I learnt from one reservist that he was “arrowed” to visit the parents of an NS man who was killed during training. Guess what? Out of the S$10,000, S$2,000 was deducted! When the mother of the dead NS man asked why was there a deduction of S$2,000, the reply was “Oh when your son died, his helmet, number 4, SBO and boots were stained with blood and these pieces of equipment cannot be reused again so we have to bill you the amount for replacing them!

    What the fuXX!!!!

Singaporeans, please wake up! Don’t be stupid and let the PAP continue to bully you!!!!

    Audrey Tan
SINGAPORE – President Halimah Yacob on Monday (May 25) said she has given her in-principle support for the Government to draw on the nation’s reserves for a fourth support package to help businesses and people cope with the economic fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Halimah Yacob – (I am sure that everyone is looking forward to the gradual resumption of economic and social activities when the circuit breaker ends on 1 June 2020. We have been able to make progress in controlling the community spread of COVID-19 because everyone has been socially responsible, adopting good personal hygiene and taking the safe distancing practices seriously.

But the war against COVID-19 is far from over. As we prepare to transit in phases after the circuit breaker, we must not let our guard down. Many of the good practices like good personal hygiene must remain our way of life. The economic recovery will also take a while, as the world grapples with a new normal. We have to be realistic about the pace at which countries around the world make adjustments to the way trade and business are conducted. In the meantime, our Government has to help buffer businesses and people from the challenges, and save jobs.

DPM Heng Swee Keat and his team of Ministers came to brief me and the CPA last week on the fourth support package in response to COVID-19. This is the fourth Budget within 2 months into the new financial year, and the second time past reserves are tapped for the Government’s COVID-19 response. ….

Having deliberated and considered the recommendation of the CPA, I am satisfied that the fourth support package …. ) “…..” Unquote.

Response :”The Government had earlier announced three Covid-19 support packages amounting to $63.7 billion.”

“This is the fourth Budget within 2 months into the new financial year, and the second time past reserves are tapped for the Government’s COVID-19 response.”

So $63,700,000,000 spent off already within two months. Now need to draw further on reserve for second time on forth budget? Why is such huge sum of $63,700,000,000 spent off so fast in two months? And the President Halimah Yacob is accountable to the people on reserves money. Can Halimah Yacob resign and get Tan Kin Lian to take over the reserves to control the budget? Halimah Yacob don’t need to account for $63,700,000,000 of our reserves spent in two months short time? Why? Singapore don’t need a President Halimah Yacob that cannot control reserve budget expenditure!

Today I went to collect the re-useable mask near my house. There are two vending machine and two operators attending to two vending mask machine. Just scan the ic and mask drop out. Singapore government spent off think $63,700,000,000 of our reserves money within two months recently. And when the masks can easily be send by mail to our house letter box,yet the government doesn’t want to but want to spend more money building such unnecessary mask vending machine to be distributed island wide. Just wonder how much is the cost of one such vending mask machine? Maybe such vending machine also is built at a cost/below cost basis I assume. Believe it or not? Maybe I am wrong, no profit, ghost will also not work for you. Whatever it is, even at cost/below cost basis, it is still a few hundreds of thousands or a couple of millions of public funds spent off unnecessary. Singapore government can’t save such money. Got reserve money, so want to continue spent unnecessary. When mask can be self collected at CCs or RCs, such mask vending machine is a huge sum of money that is not wisely spent!

And National Day Parade is another unnecessary event in this period of corona virus in which Singapore government should scrap and distribute out those National Day Parade funds for better usage like Utility rebates or GST Vouchers for everyone. Tons of millions is use for National Day Parade just to show off unnecessary,is it wise? Better wake up, else our CPF need to wait till 100 years old before allow to withdraw at such wasteful spending by our government!

SINGAPORE – Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat on Tuesday (May 26) announced a $33 billion supplementary Budget aimed primarily at helping workers and businesses to tide over the Covid-19 crisis and the bleak economic outlook ahead.

Called the Fortitude Budget, Singapore’s fourth Budget in less than four months sets aside $2.9 billion to extend job protection, including enhancements to the Job Support Scheme (JSS) that co-pays salaries to help firms retain workers. It also provides for the $3.8 billion that went towards measures announced on April 21 to tide Singaporeans over the four-week extension to the circuit breaker…. “Unquote.

Response :” The Government is dedicating close to $100 billion to support Singaporeans in the battle against Covid-19.”

” Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat on Tuesday (May 26) announced a $33 billion supplementary Budget aimed primarily at helping workers and businesses to tide over the Covid-19″

    Previously use $63,700,000,000.Now another
$33,000,000,000. Total =$63,700,000,000 +$33,000,000,000 =$96,700,000,000. So almost $100 billion use in just two to four months time! And who is controlling and guarding our reserves? It is none other than Indian race President Halimah Yacob. Oops! I make a “genuine” mistake. Halimah Yacob is a “Malay” race President who is accountable to the people on our reserves. Look at those extravagants at spending that can use to $96.7 billion in such short time between 2-4 months? Just look at the unnecessary spending of putting the recovery foreign workers inside two luxury expensive cruise Ships! And there are a lot more unnecessary spendings be it as grants or whatever incentives given to business when such business people may be rich enough to absorb and can afford. Still give grants, subsidy or incentive to them for what? Halimah Yacob must resign and ask Tan Kin Lian to be the President. We all know Tan Kin Lian in the news and know he is wise enough and able to handle reserves spending definitely better than Halimah Yacob can. The whole government should call for a change of President to let Tan Kin Lian take over immediately before all our reserves disappear off to all those unnecessary expenditure such as NDP spendings, unnecessary mask vending machine,….. Don’t forget our CPF may form part of our reserves! Beware. And beware that there may be more draws out of our reserves in future to save those women wing businesses to let them earn more profits! Now a small cake in cake shop is selling for a high price of $6.Wake up, Singaporeans! Very fast all prices going to skyrocket. And more GST and other taxes coming up with such $96.7 billions spending.

Singapore and Malaysian authorities take down drug syndicates together
Weapons such as samurai swords were seized in the CNB operation on May 18…..
    David Sun
    May 28, 2020…

Syndicates believed to be involved in smuggling drugs via courier companies from Malaysia to Singapore have been neutralised in an operation that saw authorities on both sides of the Causeway working together last week.

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) yesterday said it worked with the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Malaysian Police to take down the syndicates.

From May 15 to 22, the NCID arrested 30 suspected drug offenders across Johor, including two Singaporean men aged 44 and 45.

Officers seized 8.4kg of Ice, 1.3kg of ketamine, 6g of cannabis, 1,430 ecstasy tablets, 105g of ecstasy powder and 108 Erimin-5 tablets.

They also seized RM579,000 (S$190,000) and drug production machinery.

On May 18, CNB conducted simultaneous raids at five locations across Singapore and arrested five Singaporean men aged 25 to 50 and a 23-year-old Singaporean woman.

Officers seized 43g of Ice, two Erimin-5 tablets and an ecstasy tablet.

They also found drug paraphernalia believed to belong to the suspects.

CNB officers had to force their way into the unit of a 28-year-old suspect at Bukit Batok West Avenue 9 after he refused to comply.

Aside from drugs and utensils in the unit, they also found and seized three samurai swords, two parangs, three pockets knives and a knuckle duster.

CNB said in its statement that the six suspects are believed to be linked to the now neutralised syndicates.

“The arrests on both sides of the Causeway is a testament to the close cooperation between CNB and NCID,” it said.

“Both agencies will continue to share intelligence in timely fashion and work closely together against transnational drug trafficking activities.”"Unquote.

Response :”On May 18, CNB conducted simultaneous raids at five locations across Singapore and arrested five Singaporean men aged 25 to 50 and a 23-year-old Singaporean woman.”

“Aside from drugs and utensils in the unit, they also found and seized three samurai swords, two parangs, three pockets knives and a knuckle duster.”

Response :So keep on catching but never name suspects and show their photo out. Do eventually, it may be catching the same group of suspects over and over again? And drugs confiscated after recording, should be destroyed/burn off immediately do that drug criminals will know the determination of Singapore against drug, why never do such action of destroy drug immediately? What happen to drug confiscated is a mystery? So is that woman caught the drug boss or spy for the police? Why never charge her too? We keep hearing of woman arrested but rarely charged, why? This is drug case, can don’t charge woman suspect meh?
