The risks that we as a country collectively faces

The 1 June 2020 Asahi Shimbun, one of Japan’s national newspapers, has reported that Japan is considering easing travel restrictions on Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand with certain conditions. Singapore is not on their list.

In the face of C19 pandemic, our world’s strongest passport reputation simply melt away like ice under the scorching sun. Although C19 pandemic has affected every country, Singapore is one of the worst affected ones. By now, we have a fairly good idea as to the reasons why it is so and very unfortunately, many of them are uniquely Singapore.

Among the reasons are that in the early days of it outbreak, the “exceptional” pap taskforce has refused to heed loud public’s instinctive calls to ban the arrival of visitors and returnees from China.

Public panic was further stroked and intensified when the pap government’s assurance or by now we all know that they were hot air, that we have 6 months supply of masks exploded in their face and masks were in severe short supply everywhere anybody turned.

Then came the no need to wear mask if you are not unwell advice given by non other than that useless son. That “exceptional” advice resulted in our country losing >2 precious months to effectively protect our people and Ong Ye Kung flatly rejected calls by so many worried parents to close schools. Eventually, all schools were still closed.
There was a call by 4 doctors who jointly signed their exhortation for Singaporeans to wear mask. That call was dismissed by the taskforce. Looking back, I urge thinking Singaporeans to form their own opinions. The answer is clear as crystal and trust me, I can easily go on…

Without the runaway C19 explosion among migrant workers who stay in worker dormitories, Singaporeans will never know the very, very pathetic state of the overcrowding and unhygienic situations of those dormitories too.

This corona virus is so new until it didn’t even have a name. Now, the world knows it as Covid-19 yet, the “exceptional” pap ministerial taskforce blindly sucked so heavily on those so called scientific evidences and advisories coming from WHO who itself knows so little about the virus before they were willing to move or do anything proactively.

If that were only those impeccably educated scholars or generals are capable of doing, Singaporeans need not pay through their nose for their million dollars salaries anymore. Any “O” level educated persons would be able to do just as well, if not even better. Still remember that Lim Swee Say fella with his cheaper, better and faster rhetoric?

In such a new virus situation, human instincts and common-sense such as the quickly wearing of mask and staying away from crowded places etc must override any book-smart knowledge when science still know so little about it even until today. The picture of lhl wearing a mask made him look extremely stupid to me and I believe that I am not alone.

As we enter Phase One of our CB easing with people returning to work and students returning to school, I stress again that the danger of second and sebsequent waves of infections are clear and present danger.

If I were in charge of enforcing CB measures, I will despatch many more plain clothes police officers and enforcers and incentivise them for their performances. I hope that Masagos and Shanmugam will be serious enough to understand the risks that we as a country collectively faces and not shy away because the GE isn’t too far away and they may not want to upset or offend people. Think.

  • Simon must be very scared and possibly shitting in his pants of the Covid-19, which is perfectly normal as I was too.

However, I noticed that instead of calling on the gahment to do the right thing adn test the population more extensively, he has been repeatedly urging the authorities to catch and punish fellow poor sinkies who have been locked up for months on the half-baked believe that doing so would eradicate the coronavirus once and for all.

So fellow sinkies kennsa locked up or fined he get a kick from it issit?

Anyway, Simon should not worry too much about teh virus cause LEEder already said no community spread liao. And when it comes to catching and fining Sikies, the party lagi sibei tokong one, no need to teach them what to do one. Got chance to collect back the 600 bucks, where they got chance to miss one.

Just assume there will be a second wave of infections since PAP are already so damn jialat. And let them go ahead with calling for the election. Since the general public isn’t so impressed with how they have handled this pandemic it wouldn’t surprise me if their vote share went well below 60%.

Although common sense dictates that non-performing leeders should be voted out, but must rememebr that Sinkies are different and are like sheeps. Easy to hookwink one, so the opposite applies.

Sinkies are afraid that if teh party falls from grace, then all the civil servants no head cannot work and there will be no electrical engineers and clowns around to contain and combat the second wave of Covid-19 liao.

The opposition parties, IMHO, will be DECIMATED till bones also no left. Its all in the plan when the party decides to call for a pandemic erection.

Like Lim Simon’s grandmother predicted, from now till GE, there will be no community spread until at least teh GE is over.

  • Travel Slump:

With nearly 36,000 recorded cases and no systematic testing of the general population, SG may still have awhile to go before regaining the confidence of tourists and visitors. Air travel comes with the risk of inflight transmission, and also the inconvenience of quarantine on arrival which will deter people from travelling.

Unless *everyone* is tested i don’t believe the number reported. As part of vocational licence renewal, i visited a orivate clinic & the very old doctor ,( now retired) follow the G checklist to tick the boxes which i answered every item “No”. Final personal question from him: “How you know you don’t have blah blah blah disease/illness when you have not gone for a thorough medical examination?”

IN CRISIS, INACTIVISM (do nothing) at its beginning is courting disaster and death BECAUSE THE DANGERS AND CONSEQUENCES of that crisis is EVOLVING and escalating of impact.

The failure to act fast – particularly the dorm cluster infection outbreak – is a MONUMENTAL MISTAKE incomprehensible and unforgiveable. It was exactly the SAME MISTAKE as Pinnochio advised of the Orchard Road MRT black out – when he said that in crisis and confusion, ALL COMMUTERS TRAPPED INSIDE SHOULD JUST FOLLOW THE RULES.

IF THE “RULES” ever works to perfection, HOW COME THE CRISIS ERUPTED?

    IDIOTS!!!

Asking the law and environment chiefs to dispatch enough people on the ground is hard. The village has too many jiak liao bees in the public service, including those who call themselves management villagers hiding in aircon rooms today.

Bro, I’m not too sure about that to be honest. I didn’t think that PAP would lose a GRC and 2 ministers back in 2011 despite the anger on the ground. All I can say is that since they die die want the GE then nothing will stop them from calling for it.

It would not surprise me if the local cases reported now up to the GE were intentionally low. Do you remember the Hep C deaths which weren’t reported until after the 2015 GE?

This is why I want to see just how many more opposition MPs, if any, get voted in.

    Almost the WHOLE RED DOT!

So,CHANCES THAT MANY Sgs n others besides DORM-DWELLERS cud be carrying the CV unknowingly.

And with RE-OPENNING,we can expect more community cases if we carry out HONEST TESTING.

IT IS THE GOVT’S FAULT IF THERE ARE MORE INFECTIONS LATER ON.

TESTING HONESYLY IS THE ONLY WAY TO DAMAGE-CONTROL THE SPREAD.
ITS LIKE FIRE-FIGHTING,WE WANT TO COVER AS MUCH AN AREA AS POSSIBLE.

DAMN BLARDY STUPID TO THINK CV HAS FINISHED ITS COURSE.
SECOND WAVE MAY BE EVEN MORE COSTLY!

Now the recovered workers running into tens of thousands are placed into the various temporary recovery facilities using unused schools, colleges, etc which are near to residential areas to house the workers temporarily is really cause of concern to the communities! If there are any lapses, the uncleared coronavirus may find such opportunities to infect the communities putting the rest of us at risk of Covid infection!

    https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-migrant-workers-housing-former-schools-state-properties-12792710

MAKE THE TEMPORARY USE OF UNUSED STATE PROPERTIES (WHAT ARE THE ORIGINAL PLANS) FOR HOUSING WORKERS AN ELECTION ISSUE! IT IS REALLY A WASTE OF RESOURCES MEANT FOR OTHER PURPOSES!
