What kind of a future do you want for yourself, your children, grandchildren and for Singapore?

Do you want to live like a cog in a machine, just to pay for the mortgages, living expenses and see the kids through school, only to find you don’t have enough to retire?

Do you want to see your beloved child, all grown up and working now, coming home bitter and burnt-out because he realizes he too is a cog in the machine, not the special someone his teachers told him he is?

How you, your children and their children live, to a large extent, is policy driven. For example, HDB flats are expensive because of government policy to factor in land cost. The result is that many Singaporeans have the bulk of their CPF tied up in their flats, which is a depreciating asset.

The ever increasing cost of living can be traced directly to government policy to increase economic growth by enlarging the population – be it through the increasing employment of foreigners, the number of PRs or citizens – because when there’s more people, competition for resources increases, especially land, and cost increases.

The wages of blue-collar workers and PMETs are low not because they are lazy or stupid, but because of deliberately lax immigration policy. The list goes on.

You may decide that the government can do what it wants but you will live the way you want. Unfortunately, you can’t escape the high cost of living, you can’t escape having to work for a livelihood, unless you have a golden goose. No matter what, you are bounded by government policies. Fortunately, they can be changed if enough pressure is put on the government, although it will take time and effort.

On the other hand, you may want more work-life balance and retirement in your golden years. You may want success to be defined more broadly instead of just a big paycheck in a white-collar job, so that all our children, no matter where their talents lie, can live a dignified life. These are not pipe-dreams in a first world country because the foundation has been laid. And these are not signs of a society going soft, but a necessary progression to a more humane and creative society. Perhaps it might even be more economically productive as people have the latitude to pursue work where their passion lies.

But you have to fight for it. You have to send a strong signal of what you want, otherwise, it will be status quo, only more intense.

Sg is no more the same like before.
    We are a CHANGED PEOPLE.
Sgs from both young n older generations are more self-centred,more selfish.

We are less caring just like our gahmen are compared to OLD GUARD LEADERS.
I guess WHAT A NATION BECOMES IS INFLUENCED MUCH BY THE WAY THE GOVT TREATS ITS PEOPLE.

YOU DIE YOUR BUSINESS is the WAY HOW PAPple
    Treat THE PEOple.

Going forward,i wish to see BETTER N MORE CARING SGS IN GOVT.

THINGS WILL THEN FALL BAXK IN PLACE.
    AND YES,LESS CROWDING HERE.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPREAD FASTER IN OVER-CROWDED ENVIRONMENT as seen in recent COVID cases of Difefferent BIG CITIES that are more crowd-out?

Singaporeans will vote for status quo because money has always been the guiding value and principle. No moral education can change this. Our society is an immoral one, not sexually immoral.

How much respect you get depends on how much you earn or your net worth. People all fakes. They always evaluate your status first before making a decision whether to fren you or not.

I dislike social occasions because I’m obliged to account to farkers and cunts I don’t even know my social status etc etc.

  • Be REAL:

Just before every election, pap million$ ministers always ask for fresh mandate and promise to do this, do that, no Singaporean will be left behind, emerges stronger with them in charge.

Once elected again, same old sh*t happens again. Higher and higher costs of living, propery prices keep rising, more FTrash allow in, no minimum wage.

Pray tell us how to believe and trust these chaps?

VOTERS BE CAREFUL, PAPppypolitics have already dropped not-so-subtle hint that its Covid-19 budget largesse of UNSUBSTANTIATED $100 billion has to be accounted for – more than half of this comes out of past reserves.

Pioneer/Merdeka citizens trapped in health dilemma are captive of circumstances are all vulnerable. PAPpypolitics also promises more “beautiful” homes which naturally will be priced accordingly of land and concrete structure.

I guess that if both are not sufficient of cash and CPF extraction, there is still GST rises for future generation.

The rich of course don’t have to pay capital gain tax on speculative gains or inheritance (these are privilege exclusive to unnatural aristocratic class).

70% can continue to preserve this inequity by voting for status quo and let their parents and children suffer the same escalating misery across generations unending.

And even better still if they got retrenched in the post-Convid-19 structural transformation of the economy. I WILL CLAP LOUDLY FOR THEM FROM A LONG DISTANCE.

This is another piece of writing or rant going no where because it does not address the price on the individual head or life. When your life is tied to a currency you are forced, but many willingly, to endorce and work for the very currency which exploit your verocious needs and eventually chokes you to death. Hence the greater and more classified your needs become, the greater the currency, its expenses, inportance and dependance to you.
Over time the currency becomes a heavy burden on your back till you loses all your humanity and sense of justice before you lose your life.

Many at this point latched on to virtual reality or justification such as the religious adherers or hypocrites who become the leaders, or professional politicians or scribes, in the world

  • Say No to PAP !!:

    Foong, well said !!

Hope the 70 % sheep morons are reading this. Most of these people are civil servants who are afraid the PAP will find out if they vote for Opposition. Real morons and with low IQ.

Many older parents who have been blindly voting for PAP are beginning to realize that PAP has failed to provide proper jobs for their children.
Many of them were blinded by PAP. Many of these old timers are openly switching to Opposition candidates.

Today, many aspiring Singaporeans entering job market are under Foreign bosses with very low salary and competing with PMETs from India, PRC and Filipinos.

Our children’s future lies in who we going to vote for the coming election.
We need more Opposition into Parliament. We need to dismantle the CECA contract with India.

Singaporeans, deny your vote to PAP !!!

  • NotMyProblem:

Politician lies to stay in power. In the case of Singapore, you can only trust the PAP by the percentage of Opposition in Parliament.

Example; if we have 10% opposition is Parliament, we can only trust the PAP 10%, the rest are all lies. That means the maximum we can trust the PAP is 49%.

PAP can always lie to Singaporeans, because we have too many foreigners turned citizens or new citizens. All these new citizens are of voting age. True blue Singaporeans are always out voted by new citizens.

That’s why PAP is never worry about being voted out. So the only way is “You have to send a strong signal of what you want, otherwise, it will be status quo, only more intense.”

This coming General Election will be a “BLIND” election and PAP is holding voters at ransom.

Those chiefs are out asking for village mandate again. Even the last chief who aired his views mentioned that better work will go to villagers. Those chiefs are alternating between their stance as liars and idiots these days. Looks like this deputy village chief and the senior chief are heads of the liars council. They have been given a good four years before the election window with their million dollar salaries to deliver better works for villagers. During that time, lots of villagers were already suffering. If they have not been able to deliver during that four years, villagers who still trust them for the next five years must be idiots.

To new readers, this is what we call propaganda, where loose/misleading facts are joined together haphazardly to push a narrative, where the appeal is often to fear, and where it will be repeated again and again to attempt to plant a flag in your brain (this is due to the familiarity effect on the brain, and tendency will be to treat it as true if you are not careful).

If you are new to critical reading and read TR pieces regularly, please take the comment from this person and break it down bit and bit. You will realize it does no hold water at all.

aiyoh. of course long queue lar because a lot of people have lost the skill to cook a decent tasty meal lar in our modern society of dual-income families (many a necessity rather than a choice in expensive daft sinkie land) ?? for those who can afford, they hire maids to cook lar ???

guarantee if the white idiots can achieve 10m open-leg policy and when the next pandemic crisis hits again, a lot of stuff will not be enough as the queue (for basic necessities) for supermarkets will even be longer ???

  • Future is GE Abolished:

I prophecise here today on TRE
that the future of SG political model could be one where GE is abolished.

And the majority will accept, imho.

Democracy cannot be eaten, in Mandarin speak.

Prosperity has nothing to do with democracy.

At first I was devastated learning this reality. But I accept reality and come to terms with it.

China people happily do not find any need for democracy and they are prospering.

    人不为己,天诛地灭。
    Democracy is an ideal.
    It’s an aspiration.
    It’s about the Masses.

But Human value is Self Cums first.

Even a marriage is about the self and not the couple. The self needs his and her needs satisfied. That’s why divorces are common now when times are bad.

Humans are no different than animals when it cums to self interest.

Singaporeans, I feel, suit a China type of model. Need not be exactly like China but similar. In the asia and the world, SG is most like China now.

The people are happy generally under One Party. This is impossible to change in your life time.

Singaporeans everyday money no enough. Toto and 4d is a religion of many.
A national addiction. No time for ideals. Democracy is intangible, cannot be eaten.

So far no one has been able to debunk me.
Therefore, it’s logical to say I have prophecised what is likely the future of SG political model.

    Now, physical rallies disallowed. Tomorrow?

The writings are on the wall. But maybe I have a over imaginative mind.

To most Singaporeans, Democracy is a dirty word.

If you want democracy, go to the west, Australia or Taiwan or Thailand.

Truths are truths. They need not be pleasant to your ears. Or can you debunk me ?

    What rubbish?

Can our uni or tertiary grads even secure jobs? Why do we need “foreign talents” when our Unis are said to be world class/best in Asia? You mean those CECA guys got better degrees than our local grads?

You mean homeowners aka the HDB owners? They are Leasee and signed an Agreement of Lease with the HDB. Not owners. Go and ask any lawyer the difference of Leasee and Owner lol.

Come on. NZ, Vietnam, TW, HK, Macau has done a better job than us. We still have new infections everyday. Can we open the economy up fully?

I hope you are being sarcastic in your post. The Old Man LKY is already dead. He didn’t get up from his grave to fix the ugly spat amongst his children, much less fixing the problems in Singapore now. He promised he would.
