Some questions for PAP ministers

If I ever had a chance to meet a PAP MP or Minister during this polling period, I would like to ask them some questions…..

1. Can your ministers live on $300,000 or less a year while the average Singaporeans is expected to survive on under $60,000 per person?

2. How are you protecting our jobs? Talk is cheap

3. Why aren’t our children from the best education system in the world, qualified for jobs while foreigners with dubious qualification steal our jobs? Is minimum wage a solution?

4. Why shift the goal posts all the time for CPF? Is it because you are not able to pay us?

5. How much of GDP are we spending on Healthcare with an ageing society upon us?

6. What is being done to uplift the lower bracket of society other than lip service?

7. If candidates can’t speak 4 languages, then don’t because you are ostracising the Indians in our society. Are they less equal? (Animal Farm)

8. Has any PAP candidate spoken about the Gross Happiness Index? Another few more holidays doesn’t hurt your GDP I suppose. Easter Monday, Thaipusam, Dumpling Festival, Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
(equal representation for all races/religions)

9. A member of Parliament is out to serve the people. He/She should spend most of the time to improves the lives of the constituents

10. Transparency of our Reserves.

Make the Change NOW!

And to all Singaporeans, I guess most of us also don’t have the answers to those questions. Maybe some of us have for some of the questions. This is your only chance to make it right for the next 5 years. We always have a lot to say about how things are around us and why things are not the way we expect them to be. Stop talking and use your democratic privilege to make that change. Spoiling your vote is like turning a blind eye to injustice. I’ve seen keyboard warriors, kopitiam forums, family discussions and even at work but how many actually make the move????

How many of us truly comprehend the pledge and our national anthem to be truly Singaporean? That in itself is a failure of our education system. Our children are drilled to do better than the person next to him/her with no compassion, empathy or community spirit. And when they grow up and become politicians that character traits is even more amplified with how the citizenry is treated.

2020 is a good year for us to have a 20/20 vision to bring our magnificent nation, built on the hard work of our Founding Fathers, into the next lap.

I plead with all who wish to make that change to do it now.

MAJULAH SINGAPORE…….FORWARD SINGAPORE!

  • Are you worthy?:

All the pap candidates especially the new ones make very general and motherhood speeches. They can only say that they want to be a voice for the common people but fail terribly to specify what and how they are going to champion for us.

Examples like fighting for minimum wages, free health care for seniors, no more scholarships for foreigners at the expense of deserving local students, etc.

Are they prepared to raise these ideas? If not, just hot airs to collect 16k every month for 5 years.

  • Dun Bluff Mi U Tink I 2pid?:

Glad that you will ask these questions, but don’t think that these are new concerns. It has been asked in every elections yet this is the state of Singapore now. Stuck with Covid yet having a premature/early election for a stronger mandate. Dealing with Covid is not their job meh?

  • Vivian-How To Trust You ?:

I watch tonight live debate on TV and I have a few questions for Vivian

    1) Many years ago you mentioned that you came from a poor family. Your mother was a school principal. If you were poor how about me ? – my father was a odd job laborer. After this announcement by you, I stopped trusting you.

    2) Chee Soon Juan mentioned that the PAP govt had dreamed of reaching 10 million population as recommended by Liu Thai Ker the chief planner from URA. You rebutted that the PMO had never wanted to reach 10 million and called Mr Chee a liar to create this falsehood. Then can you explain why many people went to Hong Lim Park to protest against the Population White Paper ?Is it because they are too free and got nothing better to do ? IOt is in fact you who is telling lies because the GE is coming soon.

    3) You mentioned that the FT are here to help Sporeans. In fact recently you mentioned that 60,000 foreigners have been retrenched. Do you know that CERTIS have recruited many Malaysians to work at Changi Airport. Recent many of these Malaysian have been promoted and have their salaries increased . Why can’t CERTIS give the jobs to Singaporeans ?

    4) You keep on mentioning that 100,000 jobs will be created by the PAP for the people. When questioned what kind of jobs, you gave a very vague answer. Is polishing Minister’s balls one of the jobs ?

From your JC days, you had shown that you can speak well. Speaking well is one thing but talking facts i another. How to trust you ?

  • Nicky:

Can someone clarify why during the televised debate on 1st July, Vivian insisted that there was no mention regarding 10 million population by the Govt ? It was reported on The Straits Times dated 29 March 2019, and I quote The Straits Times as follow:

“On the projected population of 6.9 million by 2030, set out in the Government’s 2013 Population White Paper, Mr Heng said the number goes beyond how densely populated Singapore would be. The social space is as important.

Singapore’s population density is not excessive, he said, noting that other cities are a lot more crowded in terms of liveable space.

He cited former chief planner Liu Thai Ker, who said in 2014 that Singapore should plan for 10 million people for it to remain sustainable in the long term.“

  • Something very fishy:

There were VVIPs who talked about underground living, or water city, or moving port for more residents.

Quick, search news archive before it shuts down.

  • ah guan:

The question on ministers’ salary hit raw nerves of ruling party. Dr. V B did not even face the question when being asked during the debate. If all of them take a 50% pay cut now, the balance of 50% can be allocated to help many who had fallen through the crack. They are play dumb on this issue, side tracked and cannot answer because simply, they have no justification or answer. any ministers who held office for 2-3 years can comfortably retire with more than enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. Whereas the ordinary folks, work like a puppy for 30 years still be servicing housing loan. Call this equality ??

Did the government have statistic of real Singaporean who cannot take all these nonsense and migrated else where ? FW are not only taking away jobs, they are taking over the country, just visit places like the East Coast Park, Botanic Garden, MacRitchie, lucky plaza, our leisure parks are jammed packed with FW, from all over – PRC, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Singaporean have no space to breath clean air… where is the ruling party taking the country to ? 1st world country with 3rd world citizens.. Ruling party has lost touch, they do not know the SG is now the most expensive country to live in in SEA, surpassing also Japan. Sad saga, but not ended yet, voters can change if they think before they vote. Make your vote count..

  • Transparency & Accountability?:

Vivian mentioned that the PAP is transparent and accountable to Singaporeans. How much is Ho Ching earning per year ?

He also said that he did not like to see senior citizen above 65 working unless they wanted to. Very good, but did he give any solution ? Such as providing them a S$500 pm so that they can retire gracefully. TALK only , No Action. He can tell lies with a straight face. WTF

  • White Elephants:

    Spending on White Elephants?
Ornamental Gardens with $50million/year maintenance cost?
Jewel? Founders’ what? Billion dollars? That absurd Bin Centre? Astronomical Consultancy fees? Designated Smoking Posts in Yshun?

Why can’t the GDP be used for sustainability and food security such as Vertical Farming? All gardens can be turned into modern farming grounds.

God gave this Earth for us to toil and be self-sufficient in natural food produce.

    Why spend on wasteful whatnots?

Disappointed that the HDB lease zero value at the end was not addressed in this election.
The impact will be great if this problem is not resolved as many of them do not have the cash to retire with dignity.
