When the system makes a mistake

I refer to these 3 articles on ST, Today and ST.

After a case where a molester was sentenced to probation, it drew public anger. However, the most important thing to Minister Shanmugam is this: Don’t cast aspersion on the judge!

In the most recent case where a maid is acquited after being sentenced to jail prior, this was Minister Shanmugam’s main concern: NO WITCH HUNT!

And it is now easy to see what the source of our problems is. It’s this guy sitting in his ivory tower.

I strongly disagree with our esteemed law minister. A witch-hunt is precisely what we need. All these “witches” that are so busy screwing up the system need to be rooted out.

If there is no witch hunt, then you might as well tell us Singapore no more blame culture! Their pain and regret is punishment enough!

You see, everybody makes mistakes. Including  judges! The question is, when you make a mistake, do you come clean about it? Or do you cover it up, pretending nothing ever goes wrong?

In Singapore, when the system makes a mistake, no one is allowed to say anything about it. They tell you to sit down, shut up, and mind your own business.

Don’t point fingers! Don’t anyhow say! Don’t criticise! And don’t demand apology!

But what happens if someone does say something bad about it? Well, take a good look at what happened to Li Shengwu and Jolovan Wham.

You see, the system is made up of people. And people make mistakes, and then people learn from their mistakes, and that’s how they improve!

When you have some high and mighty overlord shushing people up, and handing out punishment to those who dare speak up, how the hell is any of them able to improve?

They only way for the system to improve, is for the people running it to ADMIT they are wrong, WHEN they are wrong. And then learn from it!

If they are not willing to admit wrong when they make mistakes, if they are are not willing to improve, then I think there is only one thing left for us to do at the next General Elections.

To quote a very famous line from a very famous person: “The rot is at the top.”

SINGAPORE – A three-hour lunch in the economy class cabin of a Singapore Airlines (SIA) Airbus A-380 will cost $50.

For those who want a better experience, the price goes up to $600 for lunch in the ultra first-class suites.

Meanwhile, a behind-the-scenes tour at SIA’s training facility will cost $15 for children between three and 12 years old, and $30 for adults.

Various add-ons, such as $500 for a flight simulator experience for up to three participants, can also be bought on top of the basic tour tickets.

Getting food delivered to the doorstep, though, will be more expensive. Prices will start from $288 for a business class meal for two and $448 for a first class meal. These meals will however come with a bottle of wine and amenity kits.

The prices stated exclude the 7 per cent GST that customers will also have to pay…..”Unquote .

Response : $50 and above ? Might as well go to hotel to eat their buffet there ? Should be better value with all those hotel chefs.

Reported on Straits Times(2nd Oct 2020) :Quote -”Opposition politician Lim Tean arrested for criminal breach of trust, investigated for unlawful stalking….

    Fabian Koh
SINGAPORE – Lawyer Lim Tean was arrested in his office on Friday morning (Oct 2), police said in a statement.

Mr Lim, who is the leader of the Peoples Voice political party, was arrested for suspected criminal breach of trust under the Penal Code.

He is also being investigated for an alleged offence of unlawful stalking under the Protection from Harassment Act.

The police said that the arrest was not politically motivated, as alleged by Mr Lim through his lawyer earlier.

“The police reject his allegations that the investigations are politically motivated,” they said in a statement on Friday. “Mr Lim Tean’s alleged victims had filed police reports alleging serious offences by him against them, and the police have a duty to investigate the allegations.”

A police report was lodged by Mr Lim’s former client’s lawyers for criminal breach of trust. The client, whom Mr Lim was representing in a motor injury suit, alleged that Mr Lim misappropriated a sum of money awarded to him as damages by the court.

Mr Lim is also under investigation for an unlawful stalking complaint by a former employee. The employee alleged that she was harassed by him when she was working at his law firm, referring police to text messages that had been exchanged between her and Mr Lim.

The police said it contacted and issued Mr Lim with a written notice last Wednesday, instructing him to attend a compulsory interview at the Police Cantonment Complex on Monday to assist with investigations into the two offences. He was also told that he could reschedule the interview to another date if necessary.

However, Mr Lim replied through his lawyer on Sunday, the day before the interview, saying he had no intention to turn up for the session and alleging that the investigations were politically motivated, the police said…..

“As Mr Lim Tean did not cooperate with the notice to attend an interview with the police, and had stated clearly that he had no intent to comply, the police had no choice but to arrest Mr Lim Tean in order to conduct the investigations,” the police said, adding that this would not have been necessary if he complied with the police notice to come for an interview….” Unquote .

Reported on the new paper :Quote -”….
    Clement Yong

The public feedback is that the on-board unit (OBU) to be installed in vehicles next year is too bulky, but the authorities will go ahead with the device, even as they continue to explore how to make it better, Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor said yesterday.

One reason is that the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is contractually bound to the OBU design after awarding the tender in 2016, so it cannot make alterations without incurring extra costs.

LTA, however, will offer vehicle owners a few options to gather feedback on, for instance, what is to be shown on the OBU touchscreen display.

“For example, the display can be kept black most of the time, and display ERP charges paid only when a transaction is effected,” she said in Parliament.

“As a possible future upgrade, LTA is also studying whether information from the OBU can be pushed to our smartphones, which can then be used as the display screen instead.”

Dr Khor was responding to MPs, including Mr Melvin Yong (Radin Mas) and Mr Saktiandi Supaat (Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC), who had indicated the larger screen of the new OBU could be a distraction to drivers and had asked whether it could be replaced by smartphones…..

LTA buys 40 new trains for two oldest MRT lines
The new OBU for cars, to be installed from the second half of next year, comprises an antenna, a touchscreen display to be mounted near the windscreen and a processing unit to be installed under the dashboard.

It will be compatible with the new Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system that will be switched on in the middle of 2023, to replace the existing ERP infrastructure, which has been in operation for 22 years.

Dr Khor said the current ERP system is getting increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain, and so “there is an urgency, a need to implement the next-gen ERP” without introducing further changes that could upset the timeline.

“So what we want is to ensure a smooth installation of the next-gen ERP and to do this, the display unit will (first) be a standard issue.

“We also need time to work with the contractors and the consultants to come up with the programme to be able to push OBU specific data to the mobile app.”

The first OBU will be given free for existing Singapore-registered vehicles and more details on its installation will be given later.”Unquote.

Response : This e***b*** woman with her evil backside no need to hold responsibility for any wrong doing .When she is in healthcare,so many died from hepatitis c spread at SGH.And many died from dengue and her con woman wolbachia ptoject don’t work. And when the new OBU is a distraction and that is a danger to cause accident, she can still proceed on ? As long as more money come in ,she can by passed all safety .Has the new OBU be successful tested in all weather condition to be accurate .Else,a lot of overcharged nobody knows .

SINGAPORE – The teenager arrested for his alleged role in a knife attack at the Boon Lay Shopping Centre Fairprice outlet is expected to appear in court on Friday (Oct 9).

The 18-year-old will be charged with voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon, the police said.

A 23-year-old man sustained injuries to his face and head in the attack which took place at around 12.40pm on Wednesday at the supermarket.

“Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on the same day,” said the police in a statement on Thursday.

The police said they will work with the prosecution to seek a court order for the suspect to be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric evaluation.

The victim was given medical assistance at the scene before he was conveyed by ambulance to the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

The attack left long trails of blood on the supermarket floor and shelves.

Those convicted of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon can be jailed for life, or may be imprisoned for a term of up to 15 years.

They may also be fined or caned if not sentenced to life imprisonment….”Unquote .

Response : After all of you read this post by Straits Times, did you spot where is the mistake ? If any of you did not spot it,the “mistake” is that after reader read the whole post, did reader know who the 18 year old male assault person is and whoch person get injured or assaulted ? Obvious no because no name and photo is ever published in such serious assault cases by main stream media Straits Times. Why is no name and photo of the assault person reported out ? This is called irresponsible shit reporting by those shit women controlling Straits Times .”Cheryl” is a woman author name. The author of post “Cheryl Teh” can no need to report name and photo out meh ? Why ? Is it to facilitate the possibility of the con people justice system to use another “scapegoat” to “fool” the judge again to send the wrong person to jail ? No wonder more and more people are using weapons to attack others unnecessary because our judges system are not bright people to stop the rot to demand Straits Times to report assaulters name and photo out .Even that beast Minister of Law Kasisviswanathan Shanmugam receved millions of public salary can be so super lazy as not to set law to demand main stream media to report all assault person name and photo out !Pui !
