Employers are struggling to survive

A newspaper editorial asks this question:

Job-hunting in a pandemic: Are Singaporeans too entitled? Employers too exploitative?

I believe that most employers are struggling to survive. They are not exploitative.

Some are, but this is likely to be the minority.

Singaporean workers should accept the reality. It will be a very difficult job market. They have to be willing to accept less and to work harder. They must make sure that their employer can survive.

  • Harder Truths:

Employers are FT or pro-FT in any case. They only employ locals only when they have no choice or are caught. Let them suffer. Bastards.

Mr Tan KL is right about this.

Even for those employers who appear to be alright now, the situation can take a sudden turn for the worse very quickly.

Many employees do not appreciate how tenuous the situation is for many companies. But as usual, many people cannot see beyond the tips of their noses, and all is well until the house is at least half burnt down. That is why so many are perpetually in less than ideal circumstances.

Another voice calling employyes to pander to tmployers, or else. We heard this before, even in good times. Workers must ALWAYS Sacrifice while the boss tkaes the profits and talk about teamwork. They’ll never pay you more, but always seeking to pay less. They can close. Who gives a shit, just work elsewhere.

Calling them bastards is an insult to bastards everywhere. And we should not forget that the worst of the offenders are local Singaporean employers. These ones need the axe and the rack.

  • Employers Need To Suffer:

Our Employers are bastards. They exploit as much as they can eg Jobs Incentives Scheme given by the government recently. Its time for them to go bankrupt. Its OK because Singaporeans have been suffering for a long time already. Fair and Square.

$2 for a litre of petrol… and we have traffic jams during peak hours.
Cars are everywhere…its like everyone has bank account with a million bucks.

    Sure, no ERP charges
Sure, lots of riders in GRAB etc
Sure, some sectors are doing well

    COE is still above 30K
    Property prices is still affordable
Need to Q up for popular eateries…
4D betting outlets has long queues especially ToTo..

Utter rubbish that employers are suffering.
See how the car parks are packed with brand new number plates at AMK industrial estates? Go to Henderson industrial car park and see too.
Jaguars, Volvos, Subarus, Lexus, … all these cheap cars yah.. ??
cheap tyres and cheap petrol and free ERP and free insurance..

I must have missed the boat…

//I believe that most employers are struggling to survive. They are not exploitative.//

aiyoh. so many workers now (to choose from many retrenched), still struggling meh ??

if employers fail, they themselves also have a chance to work as workers having the opportunities to display the type of talent they used to demand also lar and command the kind of salary they used to offer to their employees AND contribute to their new employers lar ?????

see whether these ex-employers are as hard working and not-so-choosy for the kind of pay under their new employers lor ???

  • the role as competitors:

//Many employees do not appreciate how tenuous the situation is for many companies.//

aiyoh. many employees are not so schooled (or no first hand experience to feel the feel of employers lar) in the in-and-outs of all the cost / benefit business proposition lar – not only about the $$$$ but also the tribulations for some of going through the whole process of running a business ??

most employees are worried seeing as far as the tip of their nose on their own cost / benefit proposition (their own savings or non-savings and bills and expenses lar) ?? the rest (for many ?) of the remaining appreciation may come from simplistic explanation from our 158th media standard and white idiots lar ??

anyway, employees are not rewarded to see beyond the tip of their nose right ?? orelse they would not be employees and they may well assume the role as competitors of their own employers right ????

Employers always want others to work for next to nothing while they drive posh cars. So choosy about employees. So difficult to satisfy. They can do the job themselves.
