GST increases the cost of living

One sinkie is happy with gst. She said – I can go to the market or a small stall and buy what I want and do not pay gst. I like GST.

She does not realize that the vendor has to pay GST on the goids that they buy to sell to her. Not only that, the price charged by the supplier also includes the cost of employing people to do GST accounting.

That is why the cost of living in Singapore is so much higher than in other nearby countries, and even compared to developed countries.

Singapore has high cost of doing business and that adds to the high cost of living.

Many workers do not earn enough to afford the cost of living. they find it a big struggle to meet the high living expenses.

There are many reasons for this high cost of living. GST and the cost of GST accounting is just one of them.

Do you think this Sinkie is an idiot?

  • Ignorance is Bliss:

Once an increase in GST kicks in, you can bet there will be an increase in food prices at markets and hawker centres, and also at the supermarkets. Again, it is the lower income class that will be badly affected by it. The “idiot” is not the woman who does not understand how GST works.

Wondering why if BIG countries such as Australia, previously Malaysia, etc can exempt essentials like bread & butter or rice & oil from gst why LITTLE country like Sinkapore/Cecepore cannot do the same??! Such exemptions would help the poor directly and instantly rather than with the so-called gst vouchers which normally went selectively at the behest of the ruling party principally for votes???

  • $99 999 999 vs $999 pay?:

    When 9% GST sets in:

The Poor will get the Big Punch.
Will The Rich feel any Pinch?

The Poor can’t afford even a small Brunch.
Will The Rich give them a Tinch?

The Poor shall walk with a Hunch.
Will The Rich become more Hinch?

The biggest tax for average Singaporeans is the CPF. Many are very happy with 2.5%. Shake head.

Sinkies forget that GST is on everything. When GST goes up, price of everything goes up accordingly. Someone has to pay for it. Businesses will price upwards, coffeeshops increase price, etc..

However, your salaries remains stagnant. Who lose out in the end? Consumer. Who gains in the end? The one who is collecting more GST.

  • Harder Truths:

GST is a devious tax that is used MULTIPLE TIMES for the same product or service. In up-front tax you are charged part of your salary and that is the end of it. For GST the cost for each entity associated with the product is added to the final price – you are paying for everyone else’s GST above you.

GST is not 7% – it is much more than that. The bill always says (Cost + GST). But people forget the Cost part includes the GST of the other entities above them also paying the GST. This ia a fraudulent practice.

People therefore are paying (maybe 50% – 100%??) more than they should for basic goods and services because of GST. Just compare goods here and the $G equivalent cost elsewhere. Yet 61% are glad to pay it.

And at Punggol Polyclinic,I often see two beast women inside a room sitting down in front of their computers pretend to do something .Again need two unnecessary two beast women manpower to do a simple job overpaying their beast high salary .If all these extra unnecessary beast women manpower do not need to be trim down ,no wonder GST will need to keep on increasing because the whole country is run by stupid e***b*** woman power with insane women ministers !Pui! Why do you all think GST need to increase ? Because of all these unnecessary wastage, improper planning, and misabuse spending of public funds !

Thanks for uncovering the hidden truth of GST. It is multi-layered tax by the time a product reaches the consumer. The GST paid by the consumer is on top of all the other GSTs that have been added to the cost of manufacturing a product. Cut G-spending, remove GST or exempt essential goods and services from GST. Will the Oppostion take this matter up in Parliament?
