CDN issue with TR Emeritus on 13th March (Resolved)

Please be informed that TR Emeritus is currently having an issue with its Content Delivery Network (CDN) server.

While it does not affect the display of articles, most of the attached images are not showing up because they are served from the CDN.

Our techie is currently working on the problem and should be able to resolve it within hours.

Our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Update: Tech has informed that the issues with the CDN have been resolved as of 2100 hours.

mine until the CDN? Backdoors backfire?

The last time cryptomining, all the money wasted on mining servers not enough.

    hahahahaha LOL

Tech: TRE is not mining on ANY of its own servers, the CDN issue is an isolated incident that has been taken care of. I suggest you read up on Cryptocurrencies mining, especially on Bitcoin, if you are interested in understanding how it works. Only newbies and idiots would use servers to mine Bitcoin. lol

At the same time, maybe they can take a look at the “GD Star Rating”, it is in perpetual “loading…”, for a long time already!

The GD star rating is a client-side script, which means that it uses the resources of the mobile/desktop to execute.

Normally it would not work well on mobiles due to some being low-end config models with no ability to execute scripts.

Those using desktop should not have any issue with the ratings.

At the same time also take a look at ‘comments links to specific articles’ under recent comments column. Cannot link up. Also for a long time already!

I was able to click on the various comments and it would bring me to the page that contains the comments.

    Is that what you wanted?

This is indeed very strange and puzzling as I was able to open a new page and view the comments I clicked on. When you say blank page, was it in another browser window?

Try clicking on any links in any articles, does it open a new browser window and bring you to the page that’s intended?

Note that whenever you click on a link on TRE, it opens a new browser window, so you CANNOT disable popup when surfing TRE.

All links are fine (same browser) except the links by commenters on the RECENT COMMENTS column. Strange. But used to it already. Got time I will try fiddling with the pop-up options control. Thanks bro.

Tech: The links on the articles uses plain HTML while the links on the comments are generated by scripts. It is probably that you have scripting disabled in your browser. Try enabling Flash and Java on your browser, not forgetting the popup settings. All 3 functions that I mentioned have to be enabled to fully appreciate TRE. Hope this helps.
