Extensive cabinet reshuffle

I am concerned about the “extensive” Cabinet reshuffles that has been announced.

Seven ministers are changing their portfolio.

While change of ministers may be necessary and, on occasion, useful to introduce change, an extensive reshuffle may be counter productive.

A minister, no matter how capable a person, needs some time to understand a ministry to be able to contribute well.

It is also necessary for the people in the ministry to know the minister and learn how to work well under his or her leadership.

If a change is made within a short time, say less than three years, it will be disruptive for the civil servants in the ministry and the general public that is served by the ministry.

I see that the ministries of transport and education will be getting a change of minister in less than one year. Is there a need for these changes?

If too many changes are being made at the same time, the whole government could be disrupted while it takes time for the new ministers to get used to their new portfolios.

I can only hope for the best.

ThINK the daily functions especially the IMPORTANT ones, of each and every Ministry are ACTUALLY performed and carried out by the respective Perm Sec and his or her subordinates. Like our Pre$ident, MOST of those so-called World Class Ministers, drawing obscene $millions salary, are just “Tua Pek Gong” whose daily MAIN TASK when reaching office, is to ask “SIGN WHERE”! At the end of the day, the recent “extensive” Cupboard oops Cabinet reshuffles of MUSICAL CHAIRS is ONLY A WAYANG KULIT as its BESTEST!

It’s part of Mai Hum and wifey Holee Jinx GAME PLAN for the EVENTUAL succession to the Imperial Throne, period! So expect MORE smokescreen and FURTHER “intensive” reshuffles in the Medium and LOONG Term before the EVENTUAL ASCENT of the 3rd Lee aka Li Horny onto the Imperial Throne. The Barn Own and Heaven are WATCHING 24/7/365! Hat off and salute Heng Sweet Cake for his EAST COAST PLAN, CHOOSING NOT TO BE INVOLVED OR TAKING PART IN THE HOLEE GAME PLAN!

IT IS A MAKESHIFT CABINET, skeletons are falling out.

Other than the “unavailable” Tharman, who can replace Flubbing East Coast?

Covid-19 decimated PAPpypolitics’s Population Recycling Economics of massive importation of cheaper foreigners. Aging demographic and deglobalisation are germinating new cancer cells eating away the heart of our economic base.

I have little confidence of our survival in these cyclones sweeping in – with incompetent captaincy and an economic apprentice steering the ship in tumultuous sea.

  • Dr Tan Tai Wei:

With “group think” and extreme centralised control, with little room for “individualism”, does it really matter where each Minister is? The actual work and practical details are done by very highly paid civil servants. So Goh Keng used to say “reduce everything to four pages for me to decide”. And with pragmatism and materialism as the simple yardstick, it’s just the most profitable or cheapest option to pick. No fine lines and difficult choices to tread that really calls for flair and genius?

    Dear @ TKL

People in-charge happy want to change who shall change who. If you become SG emperor, you can do what ypu like just like XJP and gangs, you say correct or cowrong? Agree?

Why don’t you comment on giving waiver of 6 months on established construction skill criteria condition to China construction workers?

    https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/construction-firms-hit-by-india-travel-ban-support-measures-bca-14697456

By all means, SG properties should see another huge jump in price by 2024.
    - construction labour price up
    - free dollars floating in economy
    - all raw materials (e.g. steel, wood) price shooting up
    - all basic food price goes up
    - under supply of useful land
    - all existing property control measures are getting less effective as the market digesting it into living costs
    - more coming into SG as global decentralization taking place
    - SG still very good safe haven
    - SG still democracy and far from being communitized
    - SG population STILL aging, we need more migration fresh blood, thus need plenty housing
    - SGrean still don’t want to work in construction, poor safety records, pay and bad working hours

How? TKL, want to talk about how CCP can help SG in booming your housing rather than commenting on ministar changes?

No worries here. Our Minister are all supermen able to take on any job with success. They don’t fail. You can’t blame them for things that happen once in 50 years. You can’t blame them for putting family members in charge of government companies and stat boards. They are the best talents money can buy. You can’t blame them that LKY has chosen to die at an inopportune moment and leave us with his dud son.

    Always remember. They know best.

Less than a year switching portfolio is no better than job hopping!

Every job requires a learning curve and sufficient time period to contribute meaningfully and establish whether the person has been effective.

Disgusting that $m spent on such poor HR planning in the government

  • Useless exercise:

PM LHL is a TOTAL FAILURE. Singaporeans are worse off since he became PM. Cabinet reshuffle will not make any difference because there will be no significant policy changes in any of the ministries with a new minister. Why? Because of PAP hubris. Any change is often viewed by PAP as “correcting a mistake”. PAP never admits it made mistake. “Lee Con You” never admitted he made a mistake like his [email protected] policy. LHL will make sure the 4G leaders cover up the mistakes her made and those made by his father arrogant, ruthless and always self-serving Lee Con You. That is why PAP will never change. It is too arrogant and has too much “baggage” and “sacred cows”.

Do you seriously think that even if the political succession goes accordingly to plan everything will be alright?

People’s lives will change for the better under Heng Swee Kiat or Lawrence Wong, Ong Ye Kung as Singapore Prime Minister?

    It makes no difference.

However, the transition of Lawrence Wong and Ong Ye Kung to higher office will not make a dent on the daily running of any ministries.

It’s inevitable that one or even the two of them will not survive the premiership test. The one that is indispensable to the present PM is still Chan Chun Seng not Lawrence Wong or Ong Ye Kung. That’s why CCS is safely closeted in the MOE. Far from the maddening crowd. Waiting in the Wing.

Don’t be surprised when a few blue eye boys emerged from among the 5G leaders. And so the never ending sage of Singapore political succession continues. This time Chan Chun Sing will make the cut to start warming the seat of the ‘Chosen One.

  • Josephine Teo talking cock:

Straits Times: Covid-19 impact on jobs would have been worse if not for strong partnership with employers, unions: Josephine Teo

Josephine Teo is FULL OF CRAP just like her other colleagues in Cabinet.

If the partnership with employers, unions are strong then how does she explain the THOUSANDS of Singaporeans PMETs who lost their job to foreign workers brought into the country by PAP? What was the “safety net” for them? The “cheap” (no CPF) foreign workers not only took jobs from Singaporeans but they also depressed local wages and their demand caused a sharp rise in prices. Josephine Teo and her Cabinet colleagues may not care because they are paid millions each year and are not held accountable.

It is also an INSULT TO SINGAPOREANS to Singaporeans to say “it would have been worse …” What Singaporean would really like to know is” WHY IS IT NOT MUCH BETTER CONSIDERING THE MILLIONS PAID TO EACH MINISTER ANNUALLY?

It is FACT that PAP disregarded / underestimated the public health risk posed by the dirty, overcrowded foreign workers dorms. The rest is history. Hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ money was spent fixing the gargantuan mess created by PAP stupidity and incompetence.

  • THINKING IS OPTIONAL:

Straits Times: New PSLE scoring system: MOE releases cut-off points for Singapore’s secondary schools

    More PAP bullshit.

PLSE scores really measure how exam-smart the student is after private tuition (the norm in the Singapore education system) and/or review using “10-year series”. It does not measure if the student can THINK.

Remember the government slogan “THINKING SCHOOLS, LEARNING NATION”. Singapore must be the only country on the planet where “thinking” became an issue, of all places, in schools. UNIQUELY (STUPID) SINGAPORE.

The fact is most local students are only exam-smart and have poor analytical and communication skills. The latter was so bad NUS had to organize writing classes for freshmen.

Straits Times: US climate summit: Singapore will overcome constraints, meet emission targets through innovation, says PM Lee

The FACT is Singapore is TOO SMALL to make any difference on any climate change. Nonetheless, always “rent-seeking” PAP will use it as a reason to impose fees to raise government revenue and build up government reserves used a “war chest” for elections to “buy votes”.

  • More PAP bullshit:

Straits Times: What’s spurring Singapore’s push to be a global IP hub

Its world-class judiciary and expanding suite of IP-related services give it the edge as it seeks new opportunities in an innovation-driven global economy.

    This is laughable.

How can a police state have a world-class judiciary?

I can still remember the “infamous” MINDEF patent case. Dr Ting Choon Meng claimed his invention was “stolen” by MINDEF. MINDEF disputed this. It used it vast (unlimited) financial resources (and Dr Ting’s limited personal resources) to drag the case through the court until Dr Ting ran out of money. As a result, he lost the court case.

Also this extensive musical chairs reshuffle of ministries is really disruptive, because being new in a ministry, got to show show to do changes to project a good show. So those down the line will be heavily hit with such disruptions!
