Migrant Workers Assisting a Chinese Elderly

As I was cycling past Jalan Besar today to take shelter at a bus stop due to a sudden downpour, I witnessed a pleasant occurrence.

An elderly Chinese uncle was also similarly caught in the rain due to the faulty mechanics of his wheelchair. Two migrant workers who saw this from the bus stop immediately rushed to carry the uncle into the bus stop and pushed his wheelchair inwards likewise too.

As I was cycling heading for shelter, I couldn’t stop to take the heartwarming picture in time which I believe, could warm the cockles of many hearts. The manner that the migrant worker in pink carried the uncle in his arms, was akin to carrying his own father. They later waited for the Uncle’s bus. The expression was so genuine unlike those we see on State media. (Uncle was all smiles)

While we’re currently busy keeping tabs on the CECA issue, let us not forget the migrant workers in our midst who toil for the beautiful infrastructural development of our country, yet are not covered by the provisions of CECA.

They are treated shabbily on our shores, cramped like sardines in dormitories and rendered token meals for the day’s hard work. They certainly cannot afford the high costs of dining out as their hard earned monies however meagre, are sent back to feed many mouths who wait in anticipation.

Some of them unfortunately passed on in industrial accidents or sustain permanent injuries they will have to endure for the rest of their natural life. Needless to mention the insufficient compensation they receive from the insurance companies.

Let us look out for the downtrodden, the oppressed workers, homeless and less fortunate in our society as we strive to build a more Equitable and Just Singapore!

  • Blangla or Indians?:

Let’s give right credits to right people and differentiate between INDIANS and BANGLADESHI workers.

INDIANS are covered by CECA, mostly in the Digital/finance sectors and mostly ASSholes!

  • Helping hand from Bangladesh:

I do agree with the writer. On 4 July I was walking along the tunnel toward the Outram MRT and there was a pond of water and I slipped and fall. Many people walked passed me and none gave me a helping hand.

All of a sudden a Bangladesh worker gave me his hand and lifted me up.

I sincerely thanks him but I forgotten to get his name. I also noticed that he was waiting for me to take the escalator to the train. A kind hearted guy unlike the CECA guy: “I bought this property for $1.5 million’: Condo resident yells profanities at security guards over visitor parking.”

  • We Are Not Angry With Migrants:

We are not angry with the Migrant Workers who are in Construction and Cleaning Industry.

We are very angry with the PAP Leaders to allow too many foreigners to come into Singapore to work. Especially hundreds of thousand Indians to work in the IT, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare services and deprived our local people of the jobs.

Why don’t they bring in FT to become Ministers as some of our Ministers are sleeping as can be seen on TV.

Perhaps PM Lee Hsien Loong would like to look into this issue.

  • Justice Pao:

Such migrant labourers have my sympathy and we should show our appreciation in any way you can.

I witnessed how a lady shopper at a shop paid for all the things the migrant labourer waiting in the queue behind her.

I also witnessed how an elderly cyclist entered a shop and bought drinks for a group of ten road works labourers.

These are all poor and humble workers from South Asia whom we should show our appreciation.

  • xoxo:

Generally,Foreign Workers(FWs) are much more considerate thanvthwir FT-counterparts.
    This i am sure.
We must acknowledge the POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION OF FWs as they do the jobs sgs cannot or do not do unlike FTs who rob the jobs we sis well.

We need FWs more than any FAKE FTs.
    This the PAPple must admit.

FWs dont fake credentials unlike many FTs?
Without FWs,our housing would be problematic.
Without FTs/PRs,our homes would be more affordable.

So,you see, there are so many good things sgs benefit from FWs besides helping a wheel-chaired bound sg uncle in need.

    Thanks FWs.

It is so stopid of you not to check, double check and double verify their background.

Supporters of Opposition party are really gullible….
They don’t want and dare not face up the hard truth.

  • Education breeds greed:

Education breeds greed n lying expertise but exterminates human souls both among the locals n foreigners. So it would not be surprising to see foreign workers n locals, ( humbly dressed n polite in the way they talk n walk mostly are low wage workers or from well brought up family) rush to help those in needs or in trouble. At the same time, it would not be surprsing many well dressed n flunky whipping out their flashy mobil n start shooting away. The more helpless n the deeper the trouble the broader their joy in snaupping.
This is not the kind of scene one saw in the 60s n 70s but a normal sights in the 2015+++.
No wonder the G4 Nepotic regime officers n their CBs r quick to praise themselves n desperate to take every opportunity to one up themselves. The stage of trumpic kim fiaso costing Singaporeans a hefty 28 m $ claiming to make history not Singaporeans but the jialiaobis. Even those granted PR n new citizegnships r b roUghtj wfith. Tens. Of thousands of $ just to plaster these jialiabis. The taiwanese videos on taiwanese in Singapore is really disgusting how they r getting $for nothing instead of shamed for the $s when they least need them compared to the locals having paid their taxes unlike trumpian alike n now in needs of help but none seem to say they have receivedcexceot for the $ put into their cpf n not cash to put food on their tables.

N a lot more such video. The comments that follow should be interesting to singaporeans.
Remember the race car Brit owner n his son N the PRC on sin scholarship n labelled by his German boss where he was attached for industrial exposure lacbel him as ingrate as he savpcked him.
