Vaccine apatheid will only kill the livelihood of people

In its latest salvo of the Covid-restrictions saga, the MMTF insists that families from the same household still cannot dine in together in restaurants.

The Ministers realise, don’t they, that people from the same household who cannot eat at the same table in public actually go home together and live under the same roof?

Mr Lawrence Wong also said that there is no sign of the number of infections falling (even though it’s no increasing as fast).

It’s been a month since the MMTF restricted dining-in to 2. If in this time the numbers are still not falling, perhaps it’s because F&B outlets are not the source of the recent explosion of infections. Why, then, continue to use eating places as the whipping boy?

On the contrary, crowded places like MRT trains seem like the type of places where infections could flourish. But the govt continues to treat buses and trains as if they are immune to the virus.

No one is calling for restrictions or, worse, outright ban on the use of our public transport system. Such a move would cripple our day-to-day living and the economy.

But this is where the discombobulation among the people boils over. Places like F&B joints where there is no evidence that they are sources of the Covid spread are routinely restricted or shutdown (and even though only vaccinated persons are allowed in) whereas public transportation is ignored (even though vaccinated and unvaccinated persons are allowed to take it).

If the govt cannot entertain the shutting down of the MRT system, which it should not, then the next best and reasonable thing to do is to rethink its strategy and adopt the SDP’s 8-point plan of safely exiting the pandemic.

What it cannot do is to suka-suka clamp down on eateries with silly notions like even 5 persons from the same household cannot dine-in together.

The leadership and decision-making by these younger ministers have come in for close scrutiny, as they should. And Singaporeans are not impressed.

In the meantime, don’t let the continued restrictions drag everything down. Go out and dine in your favourite restaurant despite the stop-at-two rule. F&B joints need your support.

More than 84% of the people living in the country have been fully vaccinated, some restrictions on the freedom of movement to protect their wellbeing is necessary. Similar approach has been adopted by many other countries across the world.

If no action is done to protect the unvaccinated people, it will be more harmful for the livelihoods of the people.

Take cooked food Centers for example, if there are unvaccinated people among the patrons, the vaccinated people might keep away from the Centers because they do not want to risk the life of the unvaccinated. A greater loss of business for the food sellers ensured.

Tech: How lame a reason can that be. Is it a fact that those unvaccinated are more vulnerable than the vaccinated?

Don’t be so cocked as pap.

no virus spreads in food courts hawker centers shopping malls.

all virus spreads take place in crowded buses crowded mrt trains. the infected then go to food courts hawker centers shopping malls causing the wrong conclusion taking place now.

pap MUST stop buses mrt trains from taking in passengers. free up, open up, food courts hawker centers shopping malls 100%, and see for themselves why infections go to zero if pap has the brain to do so.

  • opposition dude:

Careful there Dr Chee, don’t forget you are running an F&B outlet yourself too. This bloody government could just go bonkers with an outrageous rule that no dine in allowed at all aircon places and we will see far too many F&B outlets close down.

The say the measures need to be extended to “stabilise” the situation. When I read the report I was having a good laugh instead and had to, ahem, stabilise, myself so I wouldn’t fall off the chair laughing too hard. They won’t ever dare say the vaccinated are spreading the virus and they can’t hide the fact that cases haven’t come down nor reporting that x have passed on daily. So might as well let them continue to be a luaghing stock and lose face lah, it’s not as if they haven’t ever not lost face before what.

Why is Grabcar allowed to carry 3 or 4 members of same household in one car? Isn’t the driver under siege of infection since nowadays infected persons are home-quarantined?
How come pinky can suka-suka downgrade karaoke-you-ok? from entertainment to F&B license to accommodate their Vietnamese “fiancees” hosting their “boyfriends”?

    @ TRE Tech

THE COMMENTER @ Wantoneatereveryday in your rebut below is simply LAZY OF THE TRUTH.

TRE Tech: Tech: How lame a reason can that be. Is it a fact that those unvaccinated are more vulnerable than the vaccinated?

If, by promise and confession of PAPpypolitic, is “progressing” from pandemic to endemic (of some permanent duration at least), it is now going to be everyone going to be infected – fully vaccinated or unvaccinated, regardless – each of us just wait for your turn to be infected and see what the present (mortality outcome or long covid enjoyment attached) to enjoy thereafter.

WHAT IS THE RESIDUAL ADVANTAGE – imagined or real – for anyone whether separate or in density sharing mix of this Covid virus mutual “gifting” between all inhabitants to impose vaccine apartheid on targeted minority?

The unvaccinated may have already caught infected and “recovered” with affirmative immunity capacity cultivated (don’t need vaccination) and the fully vaccinated contacted breakthrough infection to become deadly silent spreader among themselves and the community at large.

Vaccine apartheid and full vaccination in fact give them a false sense of security.

Who says they are entitled to superior right of public physical social space in addition to endangering the rest of the community?

LTA could be their best revenue generating agency therefore you die your business, they can’t let a single cents slip away. If they want more money simply release lesser COE certificate, COE prices will go up. The whole supply & demand market is under their control.

Double standard is their norm, just learn how to take care yourselves.

Learn to live the world without PAP and you will appreciate the day when PAP is gone and VTO, is your first step.

You are spot on. The PAPies have to show to Sinkies that they are “DO-ing SOMETHING”…A NYthing is ok for Sinkies with SSS; even if doing that something is actually counter-productive. LOL.

Otherwise, if they just do nothing or no Wayang show on-stage, then how can PAPies justify their “World-Class” multi-million dollar salaries paid by tax-payers here, yes? LOL.

The only way to stop such madness and illegalities and illegalities is to file for a judicial review of the emperor without clothes callous disregard for lives per the Constitution and WHO definition of Health.

I just wonder what SDP Chairman Professor Paul Thambyah makes of the following article from which I hv given the links and some extracts:

A cancer survivor carried the coronavirus for almost a year in the world’s longest-ever active COVID-19 case
    Marianne Guenot
    Oct 20, 2021, 6:31 PM
    • A 47-year-old woman carried the coronavirus for at least 335 days, a new case study found.
    • She was immunocompromised following a blood cancer treatment three years prior, per the study.
    • This is the longest ever documented active case of COVID-19, the study authors said.
A cancer survivor was found to have carried the coronavirus for at least 335 days in the longest ever documented case of COVID-19 to date, a new study said.

After ten months, during which she showed mild or no symptoms of the coronavirus, her doctors found that she was still testing positive for the virus, the study said.

The woman had been immunocompromised after a successful blood cancer treatment three years prior left her with low levels of B cells, which produce antibodies, the study said.

When the woman’s viral load rose again this March, the doctors sequenced its genome. They found that it was very similar to the coronavirus she was carrying ten months earlier and was unlike any strain circulating in the general population at the time, the study said.

Studies like this one provide information about COVID-19 infection for people with a weakened immune system.
Immunocompromised people are less likely to mount a strong response to COVID-19 with two doses of vaccine, leaving them more vulnerable to infection. US regulatory agencies in August approved a third dose of vaccine for immunocompromised people in the hope it would help bolster their immune response. <<

has it occurred to anyone, why the sudden increase of cases over the last one month or so ??? the same unvaccinated people were also the same people around before Sep21 and there was no exceptional control on them (as the controls were almost the same for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people) ?? and the dominant D-variant was also there prior to sep21 ???

what are the uncommon factors ??? hahahahaha ???
