Dr Mahathir Mohammed has been voted out

Dr Mahathir Mohammed

Dr Mahathir Mohammed has been voted out & even lost his deposit.

This should send chills down People’s Action Party Ministers, MPs & Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Times have changed! Political challenge and competition is good and healthy for a proper functioning country and a democracy.

Past few weeks Lawrence Wong mentioned that going ahead “Political contestation in Singapore here to stay, likely to become more intense”.

The way the article was written, as if it was framed as a negative outcome. Infact it’s healthy to have tough, tight competition and challenge.

The PAP government policies have created competition & challenge for Singaporean employment & jobs, from “foreign talent policies” so why should the PAP be exempt from competition?

If the PAP has been following Malaysia 2018 elections followed by Singapore 2020 election, they have not seen anything yet.

A possible, probable wave of change might be headed to Singapore.

Step by step is the way to go, we have already seen it in 2011, 2015 and 2020. The kiasees will ensure that PAP still governs and whine non stop after an election as they have always done so. But the kiasees can see that Singapore has more than enough room to vote in more opposition MPs and this is what will happen.

PAP loves framing things up from their own perspective. We would never read about PAP talking about tough fights when either of the first 2 PMs were in charge, it was a guaranteed straight win and status quo. Today we hear about “ground not being sweet”, “PAP cannot assume it will win every election” and “People want checks and balances so more opposition are expected to be voted in”.

Wow wee, is the oh so mighty PAP running scared these days? Where is the bravado from them about meeting challenges head on, we will crush the opposition and all that hero talk?

PAP knows since before 2011 that they have been screwing us all over and now karma is coming for them at every election. In the past the oppsoition would only have around 25% of the votes but these days it’s easily 40% and expected to increase. PAP knows their glory days are over and are just hanging on for as many election terms as they can before the inevitable happens. They aren’t interested in making our lives better lah, it has been so many years liao and we still have the foreigner issue, jobs taken away, high housing prices and so on. All PAP is doing is mere wayang which we can see doesn’t solve any of the issues brought up.

  • Is Life Better ?:

Under 1G and 2G government, I was employed, my wife was employed and my two children were schooling. Things were not expensive and we can survive easily.

Under the current 3G and 4G government, I am unemployed and my two children who are graduates from tertiary institution are unemployed. My wife would be retiring soon. Things are very expensive and we are struggling to survive.

Is our life better now with so many foreigners fighting for our jobs ? The time for change is now.

when the country has structural surplus of S$20B year after year and yet pap Ljs and pap Cbs say the nation needs to raise GST from 7% to 8% indicates it is time to vote out the pap Ljs and pap Cbs.

when the number of babies produced each year in the country is about 39,000 thereabouts and yet every year pap HDB is not building enough to meet such a simple demand causing out of proportion price hikes in the public housing sector indicates pap Ljs and pap Cbs cannot do the job and need to be removed so that a better group of Singaporeans can take over.

when the number of S$ loaded aliens are allowed into the country and yet the pap Ljs and pap Cbs say ZERO car growth so much so runaway COE prices for sinkies happened, of course to the S$ loaded aliens what is S$100,000 COE, citizenship has no meaning as long as pap Ljs and pap Cbs are in power. WORSE, sinkies who waste their time in NSF NSR and yet cannot afford even a Hyundai in own land of birth for sure are living a hopeless life which only sinkies themselves can improve by voting out pap Ljs and pap Cbs at the polls.

Democracy works well only with a citizenry who has self worth and respect. Maybe with your generation. As with mine: a colleague at an institute of “higher learning” warned me, when I said I was about to retire and so why should I fear, that “they know where your children are”! When I casually said to my Director that I might aid the Opposition, he warned “Don’t ever!”. A Dean, who subsequently became Director of my Institution, said “we must never resist what the Ministry of Education wants.” And so on, and on.

Ah Loong should be a very worried man, by now. The best of the best must be fielded to kick the PM out AMK grc.

When the unthinkable happens, don’t call it a freak election. Call it a long coming payback election for the incumbent PAP by the people for the people.

Don’t ask me for evidence or proof. It is written all over the wall particularly in the recent past two years of Covid-19 followed by the ongoing Ukraine War.

Voters of AMK grc must play the long game. Once AMK GRC falls, the rest of PAP stronghold grc constituencies will fall like dominoes.

The PAP has forgotten that it is bread and butter issues that are crucial to any party remaining in power. The increase in population with no natural resources will increase inflation and costs to the population. It also reduces our earnings as we are competing for jobs with foreigners. So it will be madness to continue to vote in a party that has only its vested interest. Mahathir lost because he did not invest in change according to the population demographics, he probably thought that his reputation would help his party to win seats. This is the same mistake that the PAP is making. The world has changed and polices implemented do not serve the public.Like UMNO, they think that the power is in their hands to do as they please.Malaysians have bravely dropped their “beloved” UMNO to protect their rice bowls. What are Singaporeans waiting for?

Straits Times: FTX lawyer says ‘substantial amount’ of assets either stolen or missing

Parliament should convene a Commission of Inquiry (COI) to find out why Temasek invested (and lost) $400m in the FTX fraud.

Ho Ching was Temasek CEO when the investment was made. She is responsible and accountable.

DPM and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong should immediately remove Ho Ching as Temasek Chairman.

The Chief Technology Officer of Temasek should be sacked.

See what they have got themselves into?

    A political stalemate!

Now nobody can work with nobody, country divided, parliament hung and nobody really taking charge of the national affairs.

Reports from kl also suggest that the country 1.6 million civil servants are now getting worried if they would get paid come January next year as the country next budget has not been approved yet!

Tension within the country is also raising! It was said that their police chief has therefore ordered a heightened security alert and deployed police officers across the country for law and order.

We pray Singapore will never get into this chaotic situation!

  • HSR is voters' choice:

Dr Mahathir Mohammed cancel high speed rail and never start freight trains so he was voted out. Malaysians want economy to grow and Malaysia to be great again. Without high speed rail, there is no prospect for tourism. Freight trains make many new businesses and employments possible because of shorter transport time and new trade route. With high speed train and freight trains, Malaysia economy go to a new height. With high speed trains and freight trains, China investment and tourism come into Malaysia come in, Malaysia will be making a lot of money and voters will be happy.

PAP is quite likely to lose more seats or at least will lose a few percentage in the next GE.
But for PAP to lose power, not in the next 4 editions at least.

The most likely scenario is for PAP to win by fewer votes than the last.
Also PAP losing another GRC is possible.

Other than that, other scenarios may not happen anytime soon.

It may then trigger PAP giving out more new citizenship to reverse the tide.
In fact PAP has been doing this to shore up the draining of votes from natives.

IMHO, I disagree with you. Remember that Sinkies being Sinkies, are very forgetful. Whatever the vaccine mandates, the rise in transport and GST they will quickly forget once they receive a $100 carrot in their CPF.

Anyway seriously, it really depends on who is the PM come next GE. If the Supremo stays fast, then what you opined may happen and is likely to.

However, if the Supremo has already stepped down and handed over the reins to Lawrence, then there is a possibility that Sinkies might be CONvinced and see Wong as someone fresh, non-famiLEE and wager their vote on him being his own man, not related to the famiLEE. Sinkies would be tempted to believe that things will change for the better under Lawrence (again I say go buy ToTo better).

Anyway, in that case, the party’s vote share may actually increase, if you add all the by then will be converted FT Sillyzens.

    That is my take.

  • I reckon the latest Hung parliament fiasco in Malaysia will be made full use of by the party, “see, thats what you get when there are other parties in a parliament, where things cannot move and get done”.

Then Sinkies will be very afraid and all will start voting for the party causing a landslide victory come GE.

BTW, if no consensus can be reached between the various parties in Malaysia, then how? Call for another GE?

  • PAP Take Care Of Members:

The PAP is very diligent in taking care of its members. Every PAP Elites , Ministers etc get at least over one million dollars salaries per year. So far there were no reduction in salaries even though the public are suffering with low pay. PAP Elites are not affected by Inflation.

Now they are even importing more foreigners into Singapore to take over the jobs of locals. With more people, where are we going to get additional Rice, Food, Water, Electricity etc. for these foreigners. With shortage of these resources, prices will automatically increase. The local citizens suffer while the PAP Elites have no problems even if a cup of coffee cost S$10 in the coffee shop.

Our children and their future generation will suffer if we do not vote the PAP out now. Its time for all of us to take immediate action now.

I am sure the Rule-Based-Order world is very happy that Mahathir has been voted out.

    I think Mahathir is famous for: (1) being pro-Iran; (2) provoking Malay-jealousy (3) obstructing Rule-Based-World-Order.

Luckily Harapan avoided Mahathir this time.

Lesson for Singapore’s opposition parties is to align with Rule-Based-Order and avoid candidates who likes authoritarian regimes. Better to select those who share democratic thinking, rather than some anti-PAP authoritarian.
