‘Elected Presidency’ the Greatest Joke

Lee Hsien Yang (LHY) claims that he will win the Presidency Elections against most PAP candidates.
LHY’s confidence is not unfounded and it should be put to test. Unless George Yeo is the other candidate, else he will win hands down.
Beneath the bickering of the Lee family feud, what’s most important is the real test of “symbolic system of power checks” embedded in the Elected Presidency.
To deny LHY candidacy and end up with another walk over Presidency will only hurt this feeble system with a totally damaged credibility.
Imagine, the highest post in the country having little respect from the citizens!
Actually, that’s what the current President is suffering right now. She has little respect from the people not because she is a woman, not because she is a Muslim not even because she is ex PAP MP but just because she doesn’t have the mandate of empowerment by the people. Worse, she is a former PAP MP resigned just for Presidency, endorsed by PAP itself.
How to respect the whole system of “Elected Presidency” when it was seen being manipulated to be a no contest Unelected Presidency that doesn’t get a single vote of mandate from the people and yet, expected to check on PAP government where she was a member and got her endorsement from?
It has turned the “Elected Presidency” into the Greatest Joke.
If there is another walk over President with LHY disqualified, I guess it’s better for PAP to stop the Wayang of Fake Democracy and embarrass us all in the international arena by scrapping the whole Elected Presidency altogether!

Elected President is not the joke. The joke was, we are supposed to elect a Malay President but an Indian was selected to be president without any election.
The best part of the joke was our Malay community agreed that an Indian was a Malay and there wasn’t a single Malay can be president and needed an Indian to represent them!! Maybe the next Malay President could be from Myanmar!

With LHY disqualified from the PE, you will have Mdm Halimah and possibly Mdm Ho in the race. No need to guess the outcome. LOL! This time it will not be a walk-over and the people cannot say the winner is an unelected President! However, in the event of a miracle that LHY is exonerated and takes part in the PE, he should easily garner more than 50% of the votes to be the next Elected President. I think voters are fed-up with the last two PEs after watching Mr. TCB disqualified by the PAP, and vented out their frustrations at the last GE. Recall the video of the Teochew woman who was visibly angry and upset over the PE?
