80,000 well paying ICT jobs…
‘Singapore aims to create 80,000 well paying ICT ( Information and Communication Technology) jobs by 2025′- Lawrence Wong, CNA online.
2025 isn’t too far away and it is quite possible that many people might have mistaken him for saying that Singapore aims to create 80,000 well paying ICT jobs in 2025. (Please read this paragraph again).
I stress, it is by 2025 and not in 2025.
Between now and 2025, it is not unreasonable to think that at least less than 30,000 well paying ICT jobs have alearly been created and although I am not looking for a job, such news invigorate an older person like me too.
The obvious question that comes to most people’s mind must be of that 80k well paying ICT jobs, how many of them will go to Singaporean workers and will foreigners snatch a lion’s share of them from under our nose under an immigration liberal pap government? I have also not forgotten the lucrative levies that is waving at the pap government when foreigners are employed too.
I imagine myself to be a CECA fella now working in Singapore and reading such a news must make me slobber and want to share them with my relatives and kampong friends back home as soon as possible. Seriously, such good kang taos are just too delicious to let pass.
A truly useful government must not only know how to disclose pretty numbers. That is the easy part. The government is, after all, the biggest employer in the labour market and that is not counting all the government linked companies and private companies that do most of their business with the government yet.
Also, although lacking impressive academic credentials, our polytechnic and ITE graduates didn’t graduated from inferior institutions or are incapable of delivering satisfactory performance in many ICT and related jobs.
I would like to strongly urge the government, its linked companies, our unions, our institutions and private companies etc that do a major part of their businesses with the government to take a clear lead in employing our Singaporean workers, first and foremost, in any ICT jobs and hopefully that practice could then send a clear signal to foreign employers.
Charity must begin at home, begin deliberately and strongly and not just plain waiting for things to happen like waiting for durians to drop, so to speak.
Think.

Hope the good jobs goes to our local Graduates…and our local.
Need to ensure our local are well trained or their skills upgrade to have the good jobs created.
Else our people will still end up as GRAB driver or Food Delivery Boy.

According to Leong who decipher the manpower stats, last year 85% of the new jobs created went to foreigners.
All these job creation will end up with thousand of foreign imports.

Annual ICT for local NSmen who find it very hard to get newly created well paying jobs as advertised.

”PROPERTY developers are gearing up, ahead of an impending surge in compliance work they face, to comply with new rules the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has put in place to tackle money laundering and terrorism financing in real estate. ”
..From Jun 28, developers are required to conduct customer due diligence checks on all transactions of uncompleted residential and non-residential properties regulated under the Housing Developers (Control & Licensing) Act
Is the Money Laundering Capital of the world finally interested in stopping money laundering?
Why only now…from Jun 28…
A long time a-coming.
To stop TERRORISM, stop money laundering.
Create COMPLIANCE jobs.
Too many young Sinkies are going into jobs that sell insurance, sell housing units.
Hence so much hyping and churning—does not do much for the real economy.

Why singapore needs such things as AI ? For what ? Only developed countries people with thinking power and vibrant research and development engage in such things. Singapore is a third world scenario with first world architecture.

80,000 jobs? 8 because it is a prosperity no.? How? When? is this going to happen? Simon, a politician will say what the public wants to hear to be elected.Once elections are over, he will say we don’t have the work skills as an excuse because he is hooked on cheap foreign labour which he can sell to the foreign corporations. How many more times must this happen before it registers in our heads that the PAP do not serve us the citizens. They are committed to serve a system they have created that only benefits them and their family members. We are the financiers.

Housing units are for living; not to be left empty.
Neither are they meant for money-laundering!
Big Data is very very EASILY available to weed out house hoarding by money launderers and others.
This is only a tiny Red Dot.
Similar to 99:1 ownership loophole to avoid tax—Govt do not need whistl-eblowers.
Data is easily available.

Govt must show the willingness to DO what is right; not just say what is right.

Creating fear of uncertainty:
“We won’t have enough money to match the competition but what we must have enough of are ingenuity and innovation, guts and gumption.”
Creating hope, albeit ‘false’ hope:

This modus operandi had served them well for decades because it worked effortlessly on sheep.

Sorry to heard that but welcome to the real SG. The leaders all talk about rainbows while the sh** rains on the Sinkies. TRE is the place where people double/triple confirmed that it is really sh** that is all over you.
Yes, it won’t help with your son’s situation but accepting the truth is the beginning of a long journey towards righting the wrongs or finding an escape from SG. Sure beats those ostriches with their heads in the sands.

As we ponder the nature of work in an age of ever-advancing technology, and LW try to hone his economic message for the times, may I offer a pithy slogan: “It’s the cost of living, stupid. What Keynes and other economists could not anticipate, is that whatever benefits accrued by technological progress that the wealth created by advanced technologies/automation would be concentrated at the very top, leaving meager pickings for the rest.
“It seems our system of government refuses to identify, let alone address or solve, the actual problems facing its people. So it is fitting that the current face of our government is the living embodiment of our problems, a hyper-rentier economy, social breakdown, and chaos” – Donald Trump (someone more honest).

I’m not sorry for you and/or your son, unless you can honestly say your family never voted for PAPies Nappies over at least past 3 “general eRections”. LOL.
SSS Sinkies are all like that lor… only care about their own small little selfish circle of daily concerns and “switch-off” / “boh chap” all the injustices to other fellowmen… until one fine day they themselves kenna short end of the stick from PAPies nasty policies… then suddenly they start to KPKB. Too little too late, right? LOL.
If you have voted for PAPies Nappies, then don’t WTF here, but WTF yourself. LOL.
I will oso say to you : Omigood… omi, omi good lor. May you continue to give your MIW Master famiLEE dynasty “more good years” lor. Yes?/No? LOL.
Otherwise, my advice to you & son is to ALWAYS do the OPPOSITE of what the PAPies suggest to you and/or what the vast majority of SSS Sinkies do lah.
I speak from life experience as I made most of my money doing exactly the OPPOSITE of what most Sinkies do. LOL.
Everytime PAPies say jump!… I purposely squat down. If mainstream newspaper headlines say Go Left! I know its time to go Right. Likewise, every time all the SSS Sinkies not interested in something, then I “cheong” in to buy or invest in it and make a bundle. LOL.
Same like the past “Covidiocy”… when PAPies give “Jab mandate”, I PURPOSELY do opposite and AVOID any of the “Xperimental mRNA Jabs”, whilst more than 90% of dumbF**K SSS Sinkies all Q-up to get their “Lottery Death Shots”. So see lah… now all quietly REGRET become neutered animals and all “diam diam” now like helpless little lab rats. Yes?/No? LOL.
So, don’t worry about PAPies telling you there are 80,000 supposedly “well-paid” ICT jobs. They are just activating your Kiasu / Kiasi Sinkie mentality to make you feel you must follow their instructions… like the “Xperimental mRNA Jabs” BS lah. LOL.
In fact, if PAPies tell you there are many ICT jobs, then that is EXACTLY the time to AVOID ICT career liao lor. Too much competition which leads to depressed wages. Yes?/No? LOL.
Look at all those kenna retrenched recently in the Tech downturn. ICT is one industry where the pay is relatively low for the required amount of time/energy to upgrade & chase IT certs constantly lor. LOL.
Anyway, its still a dead-end career path, which will eventually also be replaced by ever more advanced AI. LOL.
IF all those supposedly 80,000 jobs are so good, do you hear of any PAPies children rushing into it? LOL.
Use your brains lah SSS Sinkies… but I doubt after so many took the “Xperimental mRNA Jabs”, maybe most got some brain-damage from the Spike proteins liao. Too bad. Yes?/No? LOL.
Good Luck to SSS Sinkies. LOL.
