Rare line of questioning by Workers’ Party

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read these questions which was put up by WP Pritam Singh!

Such lines of “questioning” are extremely RARE for political “opponents”!

Rightfully so, many people actually thought that these questions are put up by PAP MPs!

The questions have already PRESUMED that the two Ministers have done no wrong! Just that PAP gov is not good enough to “assure” the public that all procedures are done properly!

And we only hope PAP have rules set to “ensure” Ministers do not take advantage of privileged information, not that there is anything wrong with what the Ministers have done! Basically asking PAP to set better rules to own self check own self!?

OH MY GOSH! This is definitely not “the leader of opposition” who could possibly represent me!

To ask the Prime Minister:

(a) how will the Government assure the public that the Minister for Law and the Minister for Foreign Affairs were not in receipt of any privileged information pertaining to the lease of 26 and 31 Ridout Road respectively; and

(b) whether there are any rules, conventions or policies to ensure that Cabinet Ministers do not take advantage of privileged information received in the course of their official or non-official duties in regard to the lease of Government properties.

The Workers’ Party (WP) continues to study this matter, and other WP MPs may also file questions related to it as more information emerges. As questions continue to be asked in the public domain about the circumstances behind the leasing of both properties to Cabinet Ministers, we call on the Singapore Land Authority to release all relevant and material facts in advance, such as the guide rent for both properties, so as to make for a fuller and more meaningful debate in Parliament.

The best way to destroy opposition is to create an “opposition.” Hijack a major opposition party and implant an “opposition leader” in that party. Then have him officially recognised as the “leader of the opposition” by the leader of the ruling party. Afterall, masons are obligated to help or protect other masons.

So how much is SLA Guide Price (minimum rent) for these 2 GOOD CLASS BUNGALOWS and

How much did this single agent or 2 agents bid for the 2 GCBs on behalf of the 2 miniSTIRs and how much is the rent per month for each bungalow?

Does the rent include or exclude free maintenance of the bungalow paid for by SLA such as painting, grass cutting and/or tree pruning and general upkeep of the bungalow?

How much did SLA spent on repairs and refurbishment before security agencies install the security hut at the gate and other surveillance equipment to the bungalows before letting them out to the miniSTIRs? and

Who are these 2 agents who bidded the 2 GCBs on behalf of the miniSTIRs, are they ruling party members and how much commission did the agents earned? And who was the senior cabinet official whom Shame confided before or after the bid?

Were these GCBs advertised in the media for rent besides their own webpage and where can these advertisements be found?

How is it that these GCBs are left VACANT for 6 years and the other for 4 years? What is the maintenance costs to taxpayers for these GCBs during the vacant period/s.

Who were the previous rentees for these 2 GCBs and how much did they paid for rent?

How much is the rent difference vis-a-vis current versus last tenants’ rent?

If there is a large difference in rent between current and previous rental, what is the rationale for the lease variance and is there a subsidy if the rent is lower?

WP Opposition Leader can quote my questions freely if he wants to.

At the same time, he or his fellow MPs should also use the quote by the house leader which was reported in shit times as saying:-

‘land costs in pricing HDB flats would not only erode the Singapore’s reserves but also benefit only a select group of flat buyers at the expense of Singaporeans’.

In this case, are the 2 miniSTIRs eroding our reserves at the expense of Singaporeans, YOU, ME AND THE UNBORN!

  • Harder Truths:

All the fools who are in opposition are there for show. They know what can happen if they cross the line. They are told what to do by the Regime. They even got the Death Shot and voiced their condemnation of the evil few who dared not to take it. The cardboard policeman does more work than they do.

The real opposition is no more – because they know it is useless when 95% are slaves of the Regime. Why waste their lives like JBJ and CST? They have realised the $inkies are dying slowly and nothing will stop the replacement agenda.

$inkies can pretend all they like – but there is no escaping the fact that this is all they are good for. Grab delivery persons and dying for Big Pharma. No one cares whether they live or die.

You raise many, many pertinent questions of public interests which the Leader of Opposition and MPs should be asking in Parliament instead of skirting around. It’s hard to convince the people that Ministers do not have access to those information in their official capacity at the very top with all the subordinates answering to them. The size of the bungalow and the land size are fitting for a “rajah” or a member of the royalty, and not a pubic servant. LOL!

I don’t see anything wrong with those questions asked. What is wrong with asking how the government assures the public that what was done is not against the rules? If anything, Pritam covers his own backside for this if, in future, any PAP donkey dares say the opposition doesn’t ask pertinent questions.

The way I see it, some people just demand that WP or any opposition party go aggressive against PAP citing Leong Mun Wai as an example. He can do it why WP cannot is the reasoning these people use. How quickly people forget that WP had an ultra massive barrage when news broke of their town council finances all those years back. So WP learned their lesson and toned down the aggression but still faced loads of rudeness from the PAP clowns demanding them to apologise and all that other rubbish.

The difference this time is that PAP hasn’t taken action against Mun Wai the way they have done previously against WP. Should Mun Wai kena as aggressively as WP did back then I’m dead sure he wouldn’t be so aggressive with his questions after that.

WP might not please all opposition supporters with their parliamentary performance but hey, they are all we have got in the opposition camp who are voted in. If PSP, SDP, NSP etc had more votes and were also voted in then we would be able to see their parliamentary performances too.

WP, is actually asking for the documents pertaining to the properties. It will be speculation on the part of WP to say anything else at this point. The only glaring point is these properties are under the Ministry of Law, so it is a Conflict of Interest. So there is no excuse for them both to be occupying the premises. The next issue is the renovations, who paid for it? If it is SLA and the renovation costs together with the maintenance costs cannot be recovered in thirty six months of rental, it would mean that the State is subsidizing the rent.Who approved the renovations and the costs?Have the old trees been cut? This is against the Law so who exactly is going to be charged? This is showing that these tenancies are wrong at so many levels. SLA is failing the State and citizens in being silent about the whole issue. If there was no wrong doing, the documents should be made Public immediately. There is no need to use Parliament to debate the Conflict of Interest. This is a distraction as can be seen by GMS’s article. This is not about the WP but the integrity, honesty of the two cabinet ministers. So is GMS a PAP stooge?

I don’t think these colonial bungalows are for sale; but still, it begs the question as to why one would spend money on monthly rent unless it makes financial sense? Given their wealth, it can’t possibly be that they own no private home or property in SG?

It is registered under a private company, so technically, SLA got no say, they can just brush it off by saying the gahment don’t interfere in private business decisions, just like how they don’t interfere in how much Temasick pays its BOD. @TRE TECH
The properties belong to the state and are managed by SLA. If they are owned by a private company as you say, it is theft of State assets. All State assets must be in the National Assets Register. You can Google the assets of the US, Australia, Canada etc but not Singapore.OTC asked for the register but was told it will take 56years so it must be ready now. It is HY’s job to ensure that the register reflects all these properties. She will be paid in total about $9million of taxpayers’ monies but I think it is to look the other way.

When I just joined TRE as a tech when it was wayangparty.com, the owner then said the WP was a wayang party aka PAP Team B. I still had my reservations then as the WP under JBJ was reasonably aggressive and JBJ was doing a good job, so much so that he had to be ‘taken good care of’.

However, as time progresses, the WP proved the owner correct, contented to only be a “co-driver” and could not even suggest anything remotely impressive, compared to parties like SDP and PSP.

IMHO, their performance compared to PSP is at best, amateur in comparison. Maybe the leader of the oppos is wary that he may not receive the extra $15k (I heard) allowance if he pissed off the leader of the club house too much and might get files thrown at him?

Frankly, WP under LTK was still “ok” and on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 7. But under this new leadership, at best a 3.

  • @Monk Comes Down the Mountain

I know nothing about the B&W bungalows, so no comment on the fiasco but since you asked about the “SOB”, without naming him explicitly, let me gib you the following pointers (which are a matter of public record), to avoid POFMA from a Minister 4.

It is repeated constantly on TRE that Lawrence Wong is the supposed son of the late WangSa, which is surely NOT true. I have seen this comment many times but since it is a personal matter, I have decided to let it slide cause this is a family affair, nothing political about it. However, I simply hate misinformation and I feel it is unfair to Wong if the misunderstood news continues, so here are my pointers:

    1. The late WangSa has 3 wives and 6 offspring.
    2. Wong has ONLY 1 brother who is (last I heard) working in the aerospace industry.
    3. Wong’s late father was a sales executive and his ONLY mother was a school teacher. It can therefore be said that he comes from a humble family, not born with a silver spoon nor with many ‘mother’.

If I remember correctly, WangSa is TeoChew, and very particular about “lucky” and in that language, “lucky” is pronounced as “Heng”.

Paiseh, sorry for digressing, anyway as with all Chinese, be it Teochew or Hokkien or whatever, the temple where the late WangSa’s cremated ashes (urn) is kept (墓碑/莲位) will surely bare “all of his offspring”‘ names unless of course, he has disowned any of them, which officially he has not.

Although he is now ‘residing’ in a very high place (where his urn is kept), still accessible to members of the public for prayers and offerings, it’s not under lock and key, not guarded by Gurkas, dio bo?

So how hard is it to confirm the misinformation that Lawrence is NOT the son of WangSa, dio bo?

You really do not need to have a long runway to go up there check check, just need a long ladder. lol

    What do you think?

Saw him outside his house with quite a number of children/women. My schoolmate pointed to me those are his wives/children. So for the record and to those in TRE. Laulan no connection to Wangsa.

Err… not sure what business he doing at Simon Road, but the last I heard, when he passes on in 1998, he was residing at Joo Chiat/Telok Kurau area.

Now of course it’s been 2 decades since I left Sinkieland, and my memory may be failing me due to my stroke. (Specialist say part of my brain housing the RAM has stopped working, i.e. died).

HOWEVER, 我可以很负责任的说, Lawrence is NOT the son of WangSa, another Millister 4 (who studied at a ‘lousy school’) at the clubhouse is, BUT he has so far officially not admitted it.

Be that as it may, hopefully the misunderstanding has been cleared.

Most likely his initial residential home then upgraded.
Agree with you, the other one highly suspicious. Joo Chiat near East coast, right?
Could it be home ground? hahaha

Shhh… you think is wat then is wat lor, you talking about the “East Coast plan”, dio bo?

Anyway, unlike TOC, I am not in the hobby of collecting POFMAs and getting sued, then having to crowdfund. Even IF I can list all the 6 siblings and upload family photo(s), I will still be the loser regardless.

My over a decade on TRE and over 2 decades in China has made me learn one very important lesson in life, that is to NEVER go into a battle that you can NEVER win.

Given my current condition, I am contend with living out my borrowed time peacefully, and without encumbrances, not eager to cheong and die a martyr. Besides, it is purely a private family matter, very rude and no good for us to anyhow poke here and poke there. lol

I think its time to move on and let Uncle WangSa (Heng Kim Ching) rest in peace.
