Actually between a monkey and Tharman, I would have voted for the monkey because it would have been cheaper in costs than a PAP affiliated EP which for me serves no purpose. Anyway LHL, must have got a shock in India when he was introduced as the outgoing PM to be replaced by Tharman. Even the Indians don’t want LHL. I have always disagreed that Singaporeans should be identified by race and terms like majority and minority only causes separation and divisions. As in our pledge, we should stand as one United people. So the PAP’s stand has been that the PM must only be Chinese but with Tharman’s win, that goes out of the window and the GRCS should be removed in the next elections. The over whelming win for Tharman has become an embarrassment for the Chinese in the PAP. Who do they have now that can match Tharman’s popularity? Will this win by Tharman cause the PAP a lesser than two third win in Parliament as most people feel that they have the best man to guard the reserves.

Is it so extremely critical to have a non-chinese PM now ?

This question had been popping up so very often every now and then by the minorities.

Next day, JBJ rightly accused LKY of playing race. That was the start of PAP’s sowing the seed of Singapore’s not being ready for a non-Chinese PM? Instead of responsibly reinforcing the trend of colourblind politics, as indicated by JBJ’s electoral victories? After all, Singapore’s first Chief Minister had been a Jew in David Marshal. So, PAP had not always been having Singapore’s national interest at heart? To build a “democratic society based on justice and equality”?
