Shocking Hospital Beds Statistics

The story which Gutzy Asia ran last night on patients at Ng Teng Fong hospital’s A&E having to wait more than 6 hours for a consultation and up to 25 hours for a hospital bed so outraged me that I decided to do some research.
We know of course that our population is 6 million,which has increased dramatically in recent decades because of immigration. Our government collects more than $10 Billion a year in Medisave if my recollection is correct. Now they say GST needs to increase because amongst other things we have an ageing population. But did you know that:-
Singapore has only 2.5 hospital beds for every 1000 people? Population- 6 million.
Japan, which is a famously ageing society,has 14 hospital beds for every 1000 people. Population- 123.3 million.
Korea has 12.8 hospital beds for every 1000 people. Population- 51.8 million.
China has 6.7 hospital beds for every 1000 people. Population- between 1.3 to 1.4 billion.
Taiwan has 5.9 hospital beds for every 1000 people m. Population- 24 million.
I will leave the facts to speak for themselves and for you to draw your own conclusions as to the state of health care for the ordinary Singaporean, who is unable to afford the Mt Elizabeth and Gleneagles.Even China with the world’s 2nd largest population can provide more than twice the hospital beds per 1000 people than Singapore with 6 million people!
Shocking and disgraceful!
Isn’t the solution clear? Stop the crazy immigration inflow and start building many more hospitals!

Some doctors can be rather irritable and impatient when dealing with patients or queries.
Some counter nurses also make snarky remarks.
But there are also nice and helpful people.

Build more Community Hospitals and give more incentives for our people to go into medical industry quickly…
Going private Hospital to cut long public queue is too expensive for most people..
A recent simple private hospital operation cost more than $12K…with expensive follow up visits.
MOH need to buck up…especially with Pandemic and Covid surge that can happen anytime with travel opening up again…

Top A level of the whole cohort cannot get into medical school.
It is who you know, not what you know.
Hence shortage of doctors.
The Cabal keep the good profession to themselves; limiting the numbers—hence increasing the pay.
Therefore medical cost very very high.

Number of doctors per 1000 in Cuba 8.4.
Half of the Sinkieland doctors are servicing Indonesia/Malaysian Tycoons, Myanmar Generals…the guys with the big bucks.

I believe this number is not correct. For $inkieland 2.5 beds / 1000 persons seems really a lot.

Every body know of somebody that have a BTO less than 5 year old being left EMPTY.
The problem has been rampant for years.
It has become a norm such that property agents dare to advertise the fact that they illegally left it empty during MOP.
The youngsters and their parents know that ‘BTO then sell at MOP-end’ is a SURE make money strategy.
Hence the BTO-empty MOP game is rampant.
HDB investigates 500 case PER MONTH—that itself proves that it is rampant!
Raising tenants to 8 is a lousy solutuon.
Enforce the no-Empty-BTO law will definitely solve the problem!
Wake up HDB—enforce your own law!
