Stillbirths a 32% increase year on year

Even though the definition of Stillbirth has changed since 2022 and this makes it somewhat incomparable to previous years of 2021 and 2020 but comparison between 2023 and 2022 will still give us a shocking result. It's a 32% increase year on year!

We are already facing a low birth numbers and yet, perinatal mortality and stillbirths are increasing. The advancement of medicine should have reduced such unfortunate premature deaths.

This is especially so MOH is so concerned about pregnant women during CV time and strongly encouraged them to take those jabs even during pregnancy! Such great move by MOH should have prevented higher Stillbirths and perinatal mortality! But what happened is the exact opposite?

Where are the Experts who were pushing the jabs for pregnant women? Can they please explain?

2020 and 2021 were the period where CV was most deadly with Alpha and Delta variants resulting a lot more deaths and hospitalization. However, perinatal mortality and stillbirths were relatively stable.

Although the Jabs were introduced in early 2021, but the aggressive push for the jabs came only in the later part of 2021 where the "experts" used some strange study to justify it's "safe and effective" for pregnancy.

Well maybe the only "consolation" we have now is that many other countries are also facing similar situation of higher perinatal mortality and stillbirths along with unusually high Excess Deaths (any variation beyond 5% is statistically considered unusual and significant). It could just be blamed as "World Trend" due to some silly reasons like "climate change". Nevermind if these countries also coincidentally have relatively high jab rates.

Well, no Experts will be interested in finding out what happened. The sandpits make better pillow for good sleep.

  • Khalas:

    People are getting married late.

The prime time for reproduction is over for most of the newly married.

Hence, the unavoidable outcomes of the delayed action.

@Khalas, did you see the full yearly reports on number of births by parental age and number of stillbirths by parental age for last few years? Otherwise, where did your conclusion come from? Even if so, start by asking why people married late and screen their responses. Not give idiot excuses in the village Parliament with pandemic as a major factor vs all other factors. The village’s rock bottom rates have been there for decades, even before many villagers were born. Leaders who champion this excuse are the ones who don’t believe in honesty and ruin the village.

The moment there is a large pool of millionaires who have no impact in raising fertility rates, but only to skew the cost of living upwards or worse still act as village policy makers to give you ten thousand excuses, the village is doomed.
I just find it strange that the government report did not highlight rising stillbirths as an fertility rate issue, since the rock-bottom-of-the-world fertility rates of the village for decades will surely mean that every child counts.

The village’s rock bottom TFRs have been there for decades, even before many villagers were born. Leaders who champion this excuse are the ones who don’t believe in honesty and ruin the village.

The results of the recent survey is also an amateur piece of work. Many of the problems were there since decades and they consolidate them now, behaving like high salaried reporters again. My ex junior officer can do a better job with surveys than this, and many people can do better. But so many incompetent policy chiefs hogging the seats up there and tainted with patronage appointments, no one will come forward. Don’t label them as unpatriotic. Then when asked for solutions, the chiefs taichi to employers and employees as if they are the only ones with the overriding influence. Aren’t these employers “controlled largely” by policy land prices and landlord wimps? Aren’t these landlords the same backbones of the village chiefs? Need so many millionaire chiefs for what?

The moment there is a large pool of millionaires who have no impact in raising TFRs, except to skew the costs of living upwards or worse still, act as village policy makers to generate ten thousand excuses despite the gravity of the situation, the village is doomed. C*Khoo said people are still thinking that the TFR problem will hit in 2040, when it should be 2030. Who told her? I said this before. The problem will hit in less than 3.5 years from now. Still want to shake legs in GCBs and equivalents?

  • ???:

Both GMS’s and Khalas’s proposition fault on the absence of numbers and appropriate calculations.

GMS – breakdown of maternal age and adjusted for social economic status
application of one or more stats method

Khalas – data? numbers from which meta analyses?

    Not standardized for comparison.

Considerations for clinical significance in this context comes before statistical significance.

  • Observer:

Are there any increase in orphan rate? Whether cared by orphanages or grandmas?

I expected technically-trained ministers to provide more detailed specifications on their requests for Singapore babies.

Did they want parents to provide food + housing + diaper-change? Or did they just need the baby-in-a-basket in front of parliament?

  • The weather in Sinkieland must be getting very bad, so much so that it is also affecting the unborn.

Since it is an act of God, nothing the lightning can do about it.

Please suck it up and move on.

The increase in the numbers happened after the pandemic. It’s easy to see the link in what caused it.

    Maybe work-stress related.
Also, some of it may be due to rash “sporting” activities.
