This is not a game of cards
I can appreciate parties wanting to hold their cards close to their chest, but the smoke and mirrors games on nominations day, the shuffling of the DPM from a seat he had openly been declared to be defending, and other ministers shuffling constituencies leaves one feeling the PAP thinks it is playing a game of cards.
Constituency representation is about an individual candidate having worked the constituency and being the representative and voice of the constituents in Parliament. Not nomination day shuffling and parachutes. It is also not about groups of MPs riding in on the coattails of a Minister. As has been seen years ago in Aljunied, no Ministerial team is indispensable.
This election, the new faces who have come forward in the ranks of the opposition parties include many impressive individuals. There is a mix of some highly qualified individuals who had successful careers as well as others who have chosen to enter the fray at an earlier stage in their lives, and bring the concerns and perspectives of a younger generation. They bring both passion and compassion. They come across as authentic, thoughtful, and not just TikTok politicians. They have entered the fray at great personal sacrifice and not merely as the next step in a civil service or military career. The quality of the candidates with the opposition brings hope for change and a better future for Singapore.

The fact that candidates can be placed here or there, and at the last minute, seems to affirm that Singapore is one whole, where division into various constituencies, necessary only where local differences call for local representation, seems only to copy larger countries where electoral divisions make sense. This is borne out also by the frequency and ease by which electoral boundaries have been redrawn GE after GE, and ridiculous stuff like “Marine Parade”, say, has included even far away places as Yeo Choo Kang! And all the accusations of gerrymandering so-claimed boundaries.

In a communist system it does not matter who is put where. At the end of the day that person is doing nothing anyway except seeing their faces on big posters during major festivals and events. I doubt many even know or care. It is just a given task for them to carry out and pretend that their presence means something.

You migrated to US already and you are unaware that Gerrymandering is America lingo ?
And you are unaware that First World Democracy In God We Tru$t America is the first to practice GRC.
Why are you not assimilate into US mainstream ?
Why are you not criticizing your newly adopted cuntry America ?
First World Democracy In God We Tru$t America is the first to practice GRC.

Mr. Lee Hsien Yang,
Sorry for the loss of your sister recently, we all hope she is in a better place somewhere in the universe.
You mentioned the opposition parties include many impressive individuals who have successful careers before they step into politics, such assumption maybe totally untrue as many of us think that the current super-high salary is the main motivation for the majority of them to enter politics, and their original home countries possibly from Malaysia or elsewhere.
The only person recognized to be a true leader was your father Mr. Lee Kong You who was also an international super-star especially highly regarded in China, along with some of his lieutenants such as Mr. Ong Ting Chong and Dr. Toh Ching Chi, the rest were just those who could not secure jobs outside of the circle, possibly gang members of the Cantonese dialect group or even worst the Indians, probably didn’t do well academically also, and these are also the ‘middle-management’ people in ALL govt departments who are causing all the issues and blocking capable people from being hired, fearing their political or govt jobs be stolen. Those who have the abilities to solve national issues and help the countrymen, under such environment, may face the danger of being backstabbed by such ‘middle-management’. If you study history you will understand what we refer to.
There’s NO good PM after your father passing, because we all have eyes to see. Hopefully this newly-elected PM Mr. Wong can cope with all the messes left over by the previous 2 incompetent PMs and the 3 indian presidents, what a pain and what a shame, wasted all our efforts to work so hard in the past inspired by your father. Real talents and your law-abiding citizens will stand side or leave, and the ICA will only bring in sub-standard foreigners less capable than the ‘middle-management’ to fill the void, just to report to their PM, Mission Accomplished. WTF !
The birth rate decline in Singapore is due to HIGH crime rates, NOT because of the ‘highly’ educated women refuse to bear children. Women do not have the ability to assess the environment impartially, usually 0.01% men of integrity, regardless of their education backgrounds, have to take the lead to make changes, and allowed to do so, otherwise the government will be on your own, NO ONE will provide useful informations or workable solutions. When the entire people go silent, it will be a national disaster.
The tough laws in Singapore were imposed and targeting mainly on Cantonese dialect group and Indians based on advice given to LKY by foreign MNCs from Japan and Europe in the 60s or earlier. If the laws are now in the hands of Indians and Cantonese associated with Hong Kong or Canton gangs, many Singapore families will be destroyed, or are already happening all along. Some info leak indicates 10% of the current govt members have links with Hong Kong gang members, this explains the rapid price hike in the property market, and maybe other areas, such as shipping companies run by Indians to import illicit drugs, repeal of Section 377 to allow Indian men resuming their ‘activities’ and spread the joy along with drugs etc etc… Jews maybe the mastermind.
All the above were collected info from news media, social media, business networks, historys from Asia Europe etc, analysed then concluded.
