Your basic point is that the committee was tasked with an incorrect question. They were asked to reformulate the way in which politician salaries are tied to the private sector....

It is incredible that the PA now says that they don't get involved in party politics. Considering its recent action in threatening to withdraw a permit for a grassroots event if it organisers invite their own MP to it and their repeated blanket ban on all Opposition MPs from being appointed grassroots advisers- which is justified...

Just what kind of talent should we be attracting?

One question seems to be the focus of the freshly revealed ministerial pay recommendations: "Will it make it hard to attract top talent to public office?" This naturally requires the definition of the sought-after top talent. Obviously, we want people who have experience running successful large organisations and other top performers....
