TR EMERITUS

Just because we have free elections every five years, does it mean our country is more democratic than a country that does not have elections, like China? Governments all over the world fear one thing most - people power, in particular, mass civil disobedience. That, toppled the Shah of Iran and Marcos, brought independence... 

We have inherited a political system from the British. Instead of British Masters we now have our own politicians  to govern the country under a so-called democratic system. The Prime Minister and his Cabinet set out the policies and the civil servants who are supposed to be politically neutral carry them out without question....
