There have been many analyses of what the results mean. But above all of them, I think what’s topmost on people’s mind is what this means for the political future of Dr Chee... 

Here are my views on the results of the Bukit Batok by-election. Firstly the by-election result boosts the morale of opposition supporters because it shows that the huge landslide victories obtained by the ruling PAP in the 2015 General Election can be rolled back if the opposition party walks the ground more consistently. SDP... 

The last nine days have witnessed a very vigorous campaign by the PAP candidate Murali Pillai and SDP candidate Dr. Chee Soon Juan for votes of the Bukit Batok electorate. There had been daily meetings with the residents and PAP election rallies and SDP rallies. Both candidates worked very hard to capture the minds of the voters...
