(Photo: ST) I had a feeling that this the could be the last elections decided by the Singaporean core where I warned in this post. In 1991, there were 1.692 million eligible voters. In this election there were 2.462 million eligible voters - an increase of nearly 800,000 voters. The question to ask is where did they come from? 1....

GE2015 Forget about blaming new citizen voters for the near 10 point swing in the popular vote to the PAP. In the 4 years between 2011 and 2014, there were less than 80,000 new citizens of whom 40% were below voting age. The 300,000 new voters taken as evidence of the effect of new citizens are really due to a demographic bulge...
