TR EMERITUS

The recent speech by our PM really makes my blood boil. He seemed to blame the frictions between locals and new arrivals solely on us! That is absolutely ridiculous! We have always had a good tolerance on immigrants. Just look at how many Malaysians became Singaporeans over the years. They have assimilated well into our community.... 

Singapore is a small island and is affected by global events much more than a large country. A large country is able to insulate itself by raising invisible barriers of the sort commonly practiced by Western economies and Japan et al. There is another reason why it is much harder for Singapore to escape the ill wind of cyclical... 

In a previous article, the concept of TRUST was discussed. That there must be TRUST if Singapore is to survive and ride out the challenges that lie ahead.
